Buenas tardes Poli. Cuando envie este comentario leo tu post, que me pega que es jugoso. A ver una propuesta para aquéllos que estamos en (la ribera y medio) del Mediterraneo: ¿Os parece buena idea, digamos viable, que compartamos un blog de grupo?
Lo propongo a F- y a C- de Menorca y a Gradisca e Inis, además de a tí , porque es a quienes conozco de por aquí.

Cuidado con lo de la central nuclear que con esto del cambio climático y Al Gore entreveo que lo que se busca es "rehabilitar" a las centrales nucleares y a lo mejor nos las tenemos que tragar, eh? Y de manos del progresismo, eh? Es una hipótesis que me ronda la cabeza.

En este caso el trabajo de Mr Burns es anécdotico. Yo solo pretendia bromear siguiendo el hilo del comentario del lector de " El País", que me dió pie a montar estas diapositivas. Aunque, honradamente, he de reconocer que me vino al pelo, ya que el señor Pizarro no goza de mis simpatias.
El tema de las centrales nucleares, cambio climático y otras posibles fuentes de energia, merece un estudio profundo que yo no tengo conocimientos suficientes para abordar.

Voicing Monroe strained Harry Shearer's throat, so the character was discontinued. Monroe was never explicitly killed off, but allusions to his "death" appear throughout the series, such as the Dr. Marvin Monroe Memorial Hospital mentioned in "Who Shot Mr. Burns? (Part Two)," the 138th episode retrospective, a glimpse of his gravestone in "Alone Again, Natura-diddily," and a school gym named after him.

Despite this, he reappears in "Diatribe of a Mad Housewife" to purchase a copy of Marge's novel "The Harpooned Heart", stating simply that he's "...been very ill" when asked about his absence by Marge.

Em setembro, Os Simpsons venceram pela décima vez o prêmio de melhor programa de animação de meia hora, no Creative Arts Emmy Awards (maior premiação da televisão norte-americana).

Eu, particularmente, amo esse desenho; recordo-me que desde pequena eu assisto Os Simpsons, mesmo não sendo um desenho voltado para crianças. Conversando com minha mãe, ela me lembrou quantos brinquedos eu tive da família amarela, tinha bonecos de vários personagens, pena que não sei aonde foram parar!

Hoje, o que tenho dos Simpsons é o box da segunda e da décima temporada! Outro dia, descobri uma loja na Rua Augusta que se chama Coleciona. A loja é especializada em miniaturas e eu só saí de lá depois de ter comprado uma miniatura do Homer e uma do Flanders (estas da foto ao lado).

Abaixo deixo dois vídeos que adoro dos Simpsons: o primeiro é da evolução do Homer e o segundo é um vídeo feito para o American Idol, aonde o jurado Simon Cowell é avaliado por Marge, Lisa e Homer. E no final do post deixo os dados da loja Coleciona, caso você tenha se interessado!

# Mamma Mia! => Sem sombras de dúvidas o CD mais divertido, desses para ouvir a qualquer hora do dia com as melhores músicas da banda ABBA nas vozes de atores conhecidos como Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth entre outros.

# Elisabeth - The Golden Age => Um excelente CD para amantes de músicas clássicas de qualidade, explorando bastante instrumentos da época em que o filme se passa, as músicas vão fluindo com uma tranquilidade imensa da qual você acaba nem percebendo as mudanças de faixa.

# Transformers => CD meio pesado, desses que você tem que estar muito afim de ouvir as músicas do gênero rock e suas descendências, não é um CD em que você pode estar ouvindo a todo instante e com qualquer tipo de humor, mas para fãs do gênero as músicas foram muito bem selecionadas, e a que mais gostei é claro foi a da banda "Linkin Park"...

# The Simpsons => Demorei para criar coragem de ouvir tal CD até porque a única música mais conhecida era a famosa de abertura do desenho, e confesso que tive certas surpresas ao me deparar com uma trilha bem "light" e diferente do que achava que fosse.

This video makes me laugh. I love the Simpsons. This is a short video I found on YouTube that depicts Homer trying to vote for Barack Obama and running into a number of difficulties.

Edit: Sorry everyone. This video has been removed from YouTube. Essentially, Homer went to vote at the electronic voting dealie. He pressses "Obama" and the machine says "thank you, one vote for McCain." He tries again and it says "Two votes for McCain." This continues until "Six votes for President McCain." He does his little Homer yell and cries "This machine is rigged! I have to tell President McCain!" At this point, the machine sucks him up into itself and spits him out, ragged and beaten. The official walks up to Homer and places an "I voted!" sticker on his forehead while he's passed out on the floor, and majestic American music plays in the background.

It was so good freaking awesome that I read it despite my eyes having just been dilated. I could barely see the sidewalk in front of me on the way to the store (including the cross-don't cross signs at the intersections, sorry Power Suit Guy in the Lexus at Penn and 23rd), but once I finally had "DMZ" in my hands I couldn't NOT read it, right? So I sat there for an afternoon partially blinded, feeling like Mr. Burns in the "X-Files" episode of "the Simpsons," squinting and crinkling my nose (that helps!) but plowing through because it was every bit as good as I'd hoped.

Before this year, I'd always been a fan of the heavy hitters but never actually spent much time reading graphic novels. This year, with "Watchmen" and "Fables" and now "DMZ," I'm kicking myself for not going there sooner.

On the way home from Georgetown, I stopped at Fantom Comics in Union Station because previous experience had already proven them to be well-stocked with Volume 2. A few nights ago I was up until 1:30 finishing it, despite the 7:30 a.m. start time the next day at work. I'm up to Volume 3 now, which I picked up from Politics and Prose this afternoon, still trying to atone for the karmic sin of not trusting the indie stores first. It's the hump volume, because once I finish that one there will be more unread volumes than read ones.*** Suggestions for what to tackle next are welcome and encouraged. Seriously, please? I can see the withdrawal hitting in about two weeks right after I turn the last page of Volume 5.

*Blocked tear duct. I'm physically incapable of crying right now. Irony noted.

**I did read "Watchmen" for the first time earlier this year.

I had a very funny evening tonight at Gainsborough Rotary Club. Three members had arranged the talk: one to speak, one to set up and operate the DVD player and TV, and one to bring the DVD! The DVD came out of the case and into the DVD player. Unfortunately, it wasn't about Youth Speak, it was a holiday DVD that had been put in the wrong case! But we watched it anyway, with live commentary!

I don't really wanna write another "Would You Rather?" today. So.... what else is there to talk about?

I am currently watching "The Simpsons" that I recorded on the TiVo a couple nights back.

It's weird, I think I'm the only one I know who, at one time or another, has seen every single episode of "The Simpsons" I watched them every night when I was little, and FOX has had this two-episode-a-night thing going on for a year or two now, and I've taped every single one, and watched them. All of them.

How do I know? Well, every episode I record or that's on live t.v. (other than the new ones on Sunday nights), is a rerun that I have seen before. I've even seen the ones from 1989.

So, I guess my favorite show is "The Simpsons". I also like "Futurama" a lot, too. And I watch "The Ellen Degeneres Show" every weekday. That show "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" is pretty good, too. I personally, do not like kids. But the parents, Jon & Kate, do a really good job raising them. Like, they teach them to be kind and polite, which is nice to see, compared to kids around where I live...

Film Roman, the company behind "The Simpsons" and "King of the Hill," has been tapped to produce the 26-episode series, which will be available for broadcast in 2011, in time for Marvel Studios' releases of the tentpole live-action movies "The First Avenger: Captain America" and "The Avengers."

Producing the series is Ciro Nieli, whose credits include "Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go!" and "Teen Titans," based on the DC Comics title. The series' story editor is Christopher Yost, who has worked on the Marvel cartoons "Iron Man Armored Adventures" and "Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes."

Ok ok...back to me now. So there you have it, this is NOT a straight to DVD deal. This is going to be joining the Fantastic Four and Young Iron Man for a whole new line-up of cartoons. Im not too keen on the style of animation from the picture above but i'll wait till i see the actual thing before i judge it.

A realidade é que non existe ningún lugar no que converxan as fronteiras de cinco dos estados. Pero é certo que existe un monumento, chamado "Four Corners", moi similar ao que sae na serie; a única diferencia é que son catro os estados que se tocan, e non cinco. E estes son: Arizona, Utah, Colorado, e New México. Lástima que este en medio da nada... bueno, está nunha reserva Navaja...

OJ Simpson's lawyers and notaries could be fighting an awfully long battle to overcome enormous odds at an appeals court claiming that Simpson is a victim of racial prejudice and payback for his murder acquittal in 1995. The 61 year olds future depends entirely on his own notaries ability to persuade the court that his 1995 acquittal of murder was allowed to affect judgement on this current case. If that is the situation then his sentence could possible be reduced from life to only a matter of years. 

Al Lasso who is the defense atorney said that the former football star's acquittal was the "elephant in the room everyone was trying to ignore", there were other errors that could bring a complete reversal of his conviction. Lasso also watched the trial and was shocked to see that the court had decided to convict the defendant of robbery and 10 other charges related to the same incident. There were two men involed, including OJ Simpson and they both face life in prison.

Let's pretend there are two types of people in this one town with this one field in this one park. Let's pretend they are classified as the --oh, let's say baseball players and the soccer players. 

So, there was a time when these two categories shared the field 50/50. They got equal time to practice, compete, enjoy, and stay away. They like to call this checks and balances. 

At some point along the way, the baseball team decided, on their own accord, that they deserved more time on the field due to their needs-or self righteousness (same difference). The baseball team was always about what they deserved to have and take and get and not have to give, so the soccer team was used to it. Plus, the baseball team never decided things for arguments sake anyway, they just decided things and proceeded to execute their decision, thus, the soccer team had no choice but to stare incredulously as they allowed it. 

After a while, the baseball team just took the field. They really do deserve credit for the cleverness of it all. They somehow managed to take something that was not theirs and set up the justification so that any dispute would make a culprit out of the disputer. 

"How can you kick us off the field when little johnny wished his last day alive would be spent here playing the sport he loved?"

"You can't complain about kicking you off the field on your day if you're going to kick us off the field on our day. Are you a hypocrite? Too good for your own standards?"

"You can't kick us off the field today. God told us we have to play and that anyone who kicked us off the field was sent by the devil."

and so on. 

Eventually, the soccer people got fed up. And, unable to cleverly regain their share of the field (along with their moral code that kept them from a complete takeover of the field--out of fear of hypocrisy) the only solution the soccer players had was to get on that field and play baseball. 

It was really motivated by principle more than anything else. At least then they were present, somewhat validated by being a team the baseballers had to compete against, and they got time on the field. Or was it motivated by fear of invalidity. Lack of cleverness left them to be always reactive instead of pro-active. Thus leaving them to counter with the "No, you..." argument 

But the fact of the matter is, soccer players don't play baseball. In fact they suck at baseball. This is the closest they have gotten to a decent baseball playing soccer player. And by this, I mean today, the present, now.

BUT, they have yet to find a someone that will take the baseball team off the field for equal representation.

OR better yet, someone that will make the baseball players play soccer for once.

What There Was

We all know places online where we can watch television for free. A lot of these places are more trouble than they're worth: the streaming takes forever or blips, the quality is crummy, they're getting shut-down for some kind of copyright infringement. I stopped watching tv online in the hopes of something better one day coming along. It has.

What Came Along

Fancast is quickly becoming one of the largest spots on the internet for watching all of our favorite television shows hassle-free and in great quality. Now, as a blog about South Park, you'd think I'd have trouble giving props to a site whose South Park section is a bit shy of stellar. However, as most great South Park fans know, the official South Park Studios site provides every episode of South Park for free so that's already no trouble to watch. But what about all the other great tv out there?

Shows I Want to Be Watching

I love a whole bunch of other shows, like Dexter, Heroes, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the Tudors, Family Guy, the Simpsons, Burn Notice, Two and a Half Men and others. Frankly, I never thought there was so much tv that I wanted to watch, but there is. I hardly ever remember to watch it all and when my girlfriend wants to watch something else, I often have to yield my remote control (after all, I do get it 98.4% of the time).

How Fancast Has Awesomed Up My TV Watching

With Fancast I never really miss these shows anymore so whether the lady has taken the remote, the show is from a station I don't get (Showtime or HBO) or I just forget it's on, I can always go check out Fancast which keeps all of my personal favorites in a list and you know what else - it even sends me reminders when it gets new episodes of my favorite shows! Thus, even if I forget about the program, Fancast has me covered.

Fancast also makes it really easy to get into new shows that I've been dying to try out like Californication, because I can just start at the beginning and watch right through. Moreover, sometimes I can convince my wonderful woman to miss Gossip Girl and let me finish watching Monday Night Football because I can guarantee her the reliability of the new episode being on in good quality on Fancast the next day.

Por esta razón, la empresa Safety Media de Gran Bretaña, presenta una creativa manera de que seamos un poco más cuidadosos con un toque humorístico que no podemos pasar por alto.

Esto lo están logrando a través de posters con imágenes muy llamativan en los que figuran los personajes de la serie de televisión The Simpsons.

Gerade die gestrige CSI-Folge war besonders gut. Es handelte sich scheinbar um die Halloweenepisode (hat VOX leider ein wenig zu früh gesendet, aber andererseits auch gut, dass sie sie nicht zurückgehalten haben aufgrund der Kontinuität des fortlaufenden Handlungsstranges), mit tollen Anspielungen auf Zombies, Geister und den Voodoo-Kult.

Die Simpsons waren gestern auch gut. Nach zwei Folgen kann ich mir natürlich noch kein Urteil erlauben, aber ich habe mich bestens unterhalten gefühlt. Besonders gefallen hat mir auch der Vorspann der ersten Episode. War eine tolle Anspielung auf den Kinofilm. Mal sehen wie sich die neue Staffel noch entwickelt.
