இலங்கையில் ஊவா மாகாணத்திலுள்ள மொனராகலை மாவட்டத்தில் புத்தள-கதிர்காமம் வீதியில் கலகே எனும் இடத்தில் இன்று முற்பகல் 10.15 மணி அளவில் அரச பயணிகள் பஸ் மீது நடத்தப்பட்ட ஒரு துப்பாக்கிச் சூட்டில் இரண்டு பெண்கள் உட்பட நான்கு பயணிகள் கொல்லப்பட்டுள்ளனர். குறைந்தது 25 பேர் காயமடைந்து மருத்துவமனையில் சிகிச்சை பெற்று வருகிறார்கள்.

இந்தத் தாக்குதலை ஆயுதம் தரித்த மூன்று பேர் கொண்ட குழு நடத்தியதாகவும், சம்பவத்தை அடுத்து புத்தள-கதிர்காமம் வீதி தற்போது மூடப்பட்டு தேடுதல் நடவடிக்கைகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டு வருவதாக போலீசார் தெரிவிக்கிறார்கள்.

இந்தத் தாக்குதலை விடுதலைப் புலிகளே நடத்தியுள்ளதாக இலங்கை இராணுவக் கூறியுள்ளது.

அமெரிக்க அரசால் தீவிரவாத அமைப்பு எனப் பட்டியிலிடப்பட்டுள்ள விடுதலைப் புலிகள் அமைப்புக்கு ஆயுதங்களை வழங்குவதற்கான சதித்திட்டத்தில் ஈடுபட்டதான குற்றச்சாட்டில், ஓய்வுபெற்ற இந்தோனேசிய படைத் தளபதி ஒருவருக்கு அமெரிக்க நீதிமன்றம் ஒன்று முப்பது மாதகாலம் சிறை தண்டனை விதித்துள்ளது.

தண்டனை விதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள முன்னாள் மரைன் கார்ப்ஸ் தளபதியான எரிக் வோட்டூலூ, தண்டனைக் காலம் முடிந்த பிறகு அமெரிக்காவிலிருந்து நாடு கடத்தப்படுவார்.

2006ஆம் ஆண்டு அமெரிக்க புலனாய்வு அமைப்பினர் ஆயுத வியாபாரிகள் போன்று வேடமிட்டு ஒரு இரகசிய நடவடிக்கையின் மூலம் வோட்டூலூ மற்றும் வேறு ஐந்து பேரை கைதுசெய்திருந்தனர்.

நளினியை விடுதலை செய்ய தமிழக அரசு எதிர்ப்பு

ராஜீவ் காந்தி கொலை வழக்கில் ஆயுள் தண்டனை விதிக்கப்பட்ட நளினி முருகனை விடுதலை செய்யக் கூடாது என்பதே தமிழக அரசின் நிலைப்பாடு என்று சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் அரசுத் தரப்பில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

தனது கணவர் முருகன் மற்றும் இருவருடன், நளினிக்கும் தூக்கு தண்டனை விதிக்கப்பட்டது. ஆனால், வேலூர் சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டிருந்த நளினிக்கு பெண் குழந்தை பிறந்த பிறகு, அவரது தண்டனையை ஆயுள் தண்டனையாகக் குறைக்க வேண்டும் என ராஜீவ் காந்தியின் மனைவியான காங்கிரஸ் தலைவர் சோனியா காந்தி கோரிக்கை விடுத்தார். அந்த அடிப்படையில், அவரது தண்டனை குறைக்கப்பட்டது.

இந்த நிலையில், நளினி கடந்த ஏப்ரல் மாதம் சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் ஒரு மனு தாக்கல் செய்தார். வழக்கமாக ஆயுள் தண்டனை கைதிகள் 14 ஆண்டு சிறைவாசத்துக்குப் பிறகு விடுதலை செய்யப்படுவார்கள். ஆனால், தான் ஏற்கனவே 17 ஆண்டுகளை சிறையில் கழித்துவிட்ட நிலையில், நன்னடத்தை அடிப்படையில் தன்னை விடுதலை செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று மனுவில் கோரியுள்ளார்.

ஆனால், அவரை விடுதலை செய்யக் கூடாது என்றும், இந்த வழக்கில் தன்னையும் இணைத்துக் கொள்ள அனுமதிக்க வேண்டும் என்றும் கோரி ஜனதா கட்சித் தலைவர் சுப்ரமணியன் சுவாமி மனு தாக்கல் செய்தார். அந்த மனுவுக்கு பதிலளிக்குமாறு தமிழக அரசுக்கு நீதிமன்றம் நோட்டீஸ் அனுப்பியது.

அந்த மனு வெள்ளிக்கிழமை மீண்டும் விசாரணைக்கு வந்தது. தமிழக அரசின் சார்பில் பதில் மனு தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்டது. நீதிமன்றத்தில் தமிழக அரசின் தலைமை வழக்கறிஞர் மாசிலாமணி ஆஜரானார். மத்திய, மாநில அரசுகள் நளினியை விடுதலை செய்யக்கூடும் என சுப்ரமணியன் சுவாமி கூறுவது சரியல்ல. நளினியை விடுதலை செய்யக் கூடாது என்பதுதான் தமிழக அரசின் நிலைப்பாடும் கூட. இந்த வழக்கின் பிரதான மனு மீதான விசாரணை வரும்போது தமிழக அரசு இந்தக் கருத்தைத்தான் வலியுறுத்தும். எனவே, சுப்ரமணியன் சுவாமியின் மனு தேவையற்றது என்று மாசிலாமணி குறிப்பிட்டார்.

இதையடுத்து, விசாரணை முடிவடைந்து, சுப்ரமணியன் சுவாமி மனு மீதான தீர்ப்பை, நீதிபதி நாகமுத்து ஒத்திவைத்தார்.

இலங்கையின் கிழக்கு பல்கலைகழகத்தின் புதிய துணை வேந்தராக கலாநிதி பத்மநாதன் இன்று(வெள்ளிக்கிழமை) பொறுப்பேற்றுக் கொண்டார். கடந்த 2006 ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் மாதம் கொழும்பில் காணாமல் போதனையடுத்து, இந்தப் பதவிக்கான வெற்றிடம் ஏற்பட்டிருந்தது.

2006 ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் மாதம் முதல் பதில் துணை வேந்தராக பணியாற்றி வந்த கலாநிதி பத்மநாதன் தற்போது துணை வேந்தராக பொறுப்பேற்றுள்ளார். இவர் கிழக்கு பல்கலைகழகத்தின் ஆறாவது துணை வேந்தர்.

கல்முனை போலீஸ் அதிகாரி தற்கொலை

அம்பாறை மாவட்டம் கல்முனை போலீஸ் தலைமையக இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் விஜய திலக இன்று தன்னைத் தானே சுட்டு தற்கொலை செய்து கொண்டுள்ளார் என்று போலீஸார் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

வியாழக்கிழமையன்று வெளி மாவட்டத்தைச் சேர்ந்த மூன்று வியாபாரிகள் ஆயுததாரிகளினால் சுட்டுக் கொல்லப்பட்டதையடுத்து, இவருக்கு உடனடி இடமாற்றம் வழங்கப்பட்டதாகவும் தகவல்கள் வெளியாகியுள்ளன.

இது குறித்த விசாரணைகள் நடைபெற்று வருவதாக போலீஸார் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.

வேலை நிறுத்தம் வெற்றி—ஜேவிபி; தோல்வி—அரசு

இலங்கையில் அதிகரித்துச் செல்லும் வாழ்க்கைச் செலவிற்கு முகம் கொடுக்கும் நோக்கில் அரச மற்றும் தனியார்துறை ஊழியர்களுக்கு 5000 ரூபா மாதாந்த சம்பள அதிகரிப்பு வழங்கப்படவேண்டும், தோட்டத்துறை ஊழியர்களுக்கு நாளாந்த சம்பளம் 500 ரூபாவாக அதிகரிக்கப்படவேண்டும் என்பன போன்ற கோரிக்கைகளை முன்வைத்து மக்கள் விடுதலை முன்னணி எனப்படும் ஜே.வி.பி வியாழக்கிழமை நாடுதழுவிய ரீதியில் நடத்திய ஒருநாள் அடையாள பொதுவேலை நிறுத்தம் 70 சதவீத வெற்றி பெற்றதாக அந்த கட்சி தெரிவித்துள்ளது. அதேசமயம் இந்த வேலை நிறுத்தம் தோல்வியடைந்ததாக இலங்கை அரசு தரப்பில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

	தொழிலாளர் போராட்டம்

ஜே.வி.பியின் இந்த பொதுவேலை நிறுத்த அழைப்பிற்கு பிரதான எதிர்க்கட்சியான ஜக்கிய தேசியக் கட்சியும், தமிழ் தேசிய கூட்டமைப்பு போன்ற கட்சிகளும் ஆதரவு தெரிவித்திருந்த போதிலும், ஆளும் சிறிலங்கா சுதந்திரக்கட்சியின் தொழிற்சங்கம் இதனை முறியடிக்கும்படி தனது உறுப்பினர்களிற்கு அழைப்பு விடுத்திருந்தது.

தலைநகர் கொழும்பு உட்பட நாட்டின் பலபாகங்களிலும் ஆர்ப்பாட்ட ஊர்வலங்கள் பல இடபெற்றிருக்கின்ற போதிலும், குறிப்பிடத்தக்க அளவில் அசம்பாவித சம்பவங்கள் ஏதும் இடம்பெற்றதாக இதுவரை தகவல்கள் வெளியாகவில்லை.

கொழும்பில் அநேகமாக போக்குவரத்து, பாடசாலை, வைத்தியசாலை, நீர்வழங்கல், மின்சாரம் மற்றும் சுகாதாரம் போன்ற அனைத்து அத்தியாவசிய சேவைகளும் எவ்வித தடங்கலுமின்றி இடம்பெற்றிருந்தன. கொழும்பு வீதிகளில் வழமைக்கும் அதிகமான அளவில் இலங்கைப் போக்குவரத்துச் சபை பேருந்துகள் சேவையிலீடுபடுத்தப்பட்டதாக பொதுமக்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றனர். ரயில் சேவைகளும் பெரும்பாலும் வழமைபோல் இடம்பெற்றன.

	தொழிலாளர் ஊர்வலம்

பெரும்பாலான பாடசாலைகளில் ஆசிரியர்களின் வருகையில் எவ்வித வீழ்ச்சியும் ஏற்படவில்லை என்றும், மாணவர்களின் வருகையில் ஓரளவு வீழ்ச்சி அவதானிக்கப்பட்டதாகவும் கல்வித்துறை அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவிக்கின்றனர்.

கொழும்பு தேசிய வைத்தியசாலயில் கனிஷ்ட பணியாளர்கள், அதிகாரிகள் மட்டுமே பெருமளவில் வேலைக்கு சமூகமளிக்கவில்லை என வைத்தியசாலைப் பணிப்பாளர் தெரிவித்திருக்கிறார்.

வெளிமாவட்டங்களைப் பொறுத்தவரை சில இடங்களில் இந்தப் போராட்டம் ஒரளவிற்கு வெற்றியடைந்திருப்பதாகவும், சில இடங்களில் தோல்வியில் முடிந்ததாகவும் தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.

ஆனால் இன்று இடம்பெற்ற ஊடகவியலாளர்கள் மாநாட்டில் உரையாற்றிய ஊடகத்துறை அமைச்சரும், அமைச்சரவைப் பேச்சாளருமான அனுர பிரியதர்ஷன யாப்பா இந்த போராட்டம் தோல்வியடைந்ததாக தெரிவித்தார். இது குறித்த செய்தி களையும் செவ்விகளையும் நேயர்கள் இன்றைய செய்தி அரங்கத்தில் கேட்கலாம்.

இலங்கை பாடசாலைகளில் அதிபர்கள் பற்றாக்குறை

	இலங்கையில் அதிபர் இல்லாமல் பல பாடசாலைகள் உள்ளன

இலங்கையில் பல்லாயிரக்கணக்கான அரசுப் பள்ளிகளில் அதிபர்கள் இல்லாத நிலை காணப்படுவதாக செய்திகள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன. இதன் காரணமாக ஆசிரியர்களே பதில் அதிபர்களாக கடமையாற்றும் நிலமை ஏற்பட்டுள்ளதாக ஆசிரியர் சார் தொழிற்சங்கங்கள் கூறுகின்றன.

நாடு முழுவதும் சுமார் 16,500 பேர் இருக்க வேண்டிய அதிபர் சேவையில் தற்போது 8,000 பேரே சேவையில் இருப்பதாகவும் இதன் காரணமாக 52 சதவீத வெற்றிடங்கள் காணப்படுவதாகவும் மேலும் தெரிவிக்கப்படுகின்றது.

கடந்த சில வருடங்களாக பதில் அதிபர்கள் நிரந்தரமாக்கப்படாமை, அதிபர் தேர்வுக்கான போட்டிப் பரீட்சைகள் நடைபெற்று முடிந்து முடிவுகள் வெளியிடுவதில் உள்ள தாமதங்கள் போன்றவையே இவ்வாறான ஒரு நிலை ஏற்படக் காரணங்கள் என சுட்டிக் காட்டப்படுகின்றன.

அதிபர் சேவையில் 8,000 த்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட வெற்றிடங்கள் இருப்பதை நிராகரிக்கும் கல்வி அமைச்சர் சுசில் பிரேமஜயன் 6,000 த்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட வெற்றிடங்கள் இருப்பதை தமிழோசையிடம் ஒப்புக் கொண்டார்.

இன்னும் ஓரிரு மாதங்களில் உரிய நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்கப்பட்டு தகுதியானவர்களுக்கு அதிபர் நியமனங்கள் வழங்கப்படும் எனவும் அவர் தெரிவித்தார்.

THE Government is not allowed to declassify highway concession agreements due to a confidentiality clause in the contracts, says Works Minister Datuk Mohd Zin Mohamed.(Damn, if the government cannot declassify a document, then who can?)

He said before the Government did this, it would have to first get the consent from the parties involved. (Well Zin, Litrak on Friday 16th March 2007 agreed to declassifying its toll agreement. Here is the news as taken from the STAR:

Concessionaire Litrak agrees to go public with toll agreement

KOTA KINABALU: Litrak, the toll concessionaire for Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP), has agreed to make public its toll agreement with the Government.

However, the Cabinet has yet to give the green light for the documents to be made public. 

“If the Government reveals the concession agreements without the companies’ consent, the concessionaires can take action against the Government for failing to abide by the ‘confidentiality’ provision in the agreements.(Again, LITRAk has consented, so whats the problem? PLUS is a GLC -government linked company... the government is the major Shareholder - you mean you cant get PLUS to agree?)

“The government’s credibility and image will also be questioned and it could affect investors’ confidence,” he said in a written reply to Teo Nie Ching (DAP-Serdang).(ZIN, you have just destroyed the governments credibility by contradicting what has already been published in the papers!)

Mohd Zin said the Government would not reveal the details of highway concession deals for fear certain parties would manipulate these to create unease, and affect public order and the country’s economy.(If everything was above BOARD the issue of fear should not arise. Obviously "Something is rotten in Denmark") 

Teo had asked whether the highway concession contracts would be declassified from the Official Secrets Act 1971. She also asked for the minister to state the reasons why, if the Government could not do so.

Mohd Zin also said that the Government would have to consider the implications of de-classifying the documents, so that it would not affect national security or public interest.(Zin, how can a toll concession agreement, which in essences is a straight forward commercial agreement for BOT financing be a threat to national security?)

“The view is based on the case of the Takong Tabiri Government of Sarawak and 3 ORS (1995) 1 CLJ 403, where the court had stated that Act 88 was meant to prevent any leakage of official secret documents without consent.(AGAIN, LITRAK have consented, so start with the LITRAK agreement!)

“The main aim of the Act is to protect official secret documents or information which, if revealed, would be detrimental to national security or public interest,” he said. (That was not the point of this parliamentary question)

ولكن حين وضعت مسافة بين الكلمتين هكذا samy soft وجدت نتائج .. وهذا لبحث افضل واكثر نتائج

With regards to the above matter, I am writing to you in the capacity as the citizen of Malaysia being the 6th generation Malaysian born in this country. I humbly request that you step down from the MIC chairmanship immediately. I also request that you do not accept any cabinet post even though the PM offers you via a Senatorship. My request to you is made on the following grounds:

A. Malaysian Indians don’t hate MIC, they just hate U.

From the events that took place before that led to the uprising of the Indians community via the Hindraf Rally and the repeated political manoeuvres that you did to maintain your position as the party chief over the years it is quite clear the Indians really hate you. This is clearly indicated when the Indians not only voted the opposition but many I saw was going around carrying Keadilan flags. They send a very strong message to you when they also kick out all your top lieutenants. The issue now is not so much whether it is about you love them or they love you. We have gone past that point. At this point, you have overstayed your welcome. It is because of you that the Indian Votes swings heavily against the BN. You need to accept this fact. It is best that you arrange your own retirement rather than waiting to be kick out by your own party.For the record many malays also dont like you and they also will do special prayers if you step down.

B. Place the country interest above your personal interest

At the current moment there is a need to revisit the interest of the country and its people. While you are in office the BN council will be wasting time to fight fires all over the country. If there is a serious effort to bring back the Indians into the fold of BN, then it cannot be done you. You may have their best interest at heart and you are willing to work and bring them back to the fold of BN but you need to accept the fact that your face alone now create anger.People are simply allergic to your face. I suggest you let others take over the party leadership and this new task. You should just retire completely. If you really need a job, do let me know, I will try to help you.

At the current moment, the PM is under tremendous pressure. Please do not burden him with the issue of having an Indian representation (or rather having you in cabinet as a representative of the Indian Community). He is having enough problem to stay in his own chair as within UMNO there is a large effort to topple him. He also has to find a suitable position for his son in law, KJ to be place in the cabinet. Please leave him alone and go for a holiday somewhere.

I do hope that this will my last mail to you. If the first time around you ignore my advice and you end up having a disastrous result and not only that BN also almost collapse. I do hope that you will follow my advice this time around to ensure that Malaysia will survive as a country.
