Apparently, speaking of Favre, Gould told ESPN, "he knows how to win and he's won Super Bowls, you know, and he's been in every situation possible and he'd make our team a lot better."

It could just be that Gould was being polite and giving the ol' standard response to the media. Yet, even so, you would hope he'd stop short of attributing Favre with the capability to improve the team -- by a lot.

If the Bears were to really somehow acquire Favre, he would become the uncontested starting quarterback. If Gould really meant what he said, he was more than hinting at Favre's superiority to Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton. And while it isn't necessary to proclaim Favre as a better quarterback than either Grossman or Orton, for the team's kicker to come out and kinda, sorta do it speaks volumes.

That statement was said to me this morning, and left me sitting here with my mouth wide open in shock.

Apparently, it's being spread around that I wanted someone else to be the First Girl of Kar so I leaned on Luce until she was so miserable she gave it up.

If you dislike me because I did something to you, that's reasonable. But if you dislike me because of a silly rumor, well, that's pretty sad. Don't you think so?

Now that I'm on my second entry I feel really experienced with writing in my diary. Just like when I got really experienced at frenching when I french kissed my PM Dawn poster. I'm going to try to french kiss the cat on your cover now.

Ok. I just did it. I'm getting really good at it. I'm really sensual and even make the good noises. I can't wait until I get to french Lance.

So, i started a new rumor today. Nancy Beans got an A in Spanish and I got a B-. I don't think that's fair. That's why I whispered to Jason Cutlet that I heard that Nancy Beans was diddling her VJ in Mr. Maneuver's spanish class. Everytime Mr. Maneuver would say: Casa or Hola she would strum her frontbutt like a 6 stringed banjo. The thought of strings made me think of another rumor that I couldn't hold in so I also told him she keeps polly-O string cheese in her locker and eats it during her frees. That's howcome she's fat. Because she eats so many carbs from the cheese. Even though she's really skinny. But whatever.

Cutlet told Mickey Rubberneck who started craning her neck as usual and now somebody has scotch taped string all over the Beans' locker. I don't want to be mean but as I said it's really not fair that she got an A in spanish when I didn't. Blue Robin took the strings down.

I also heard that Buck Tight Jimmy was trying out for the Special Olympics. That's when I told everyone he was paralyzed. Margaret Swampscott told me that she saw him walking around just that morning. I told her that his legs are fake and he lost them in the war (that's what happened to my grandpa). I didn't tell anyone else because Buck Tight is friends with Lance.

Speaking of Lance, I can't stop thinking about his coonskin cap. I heard he got it in Maryland (at least that's what I told Jennifer Chicken) which is so hot that he's a world traveler. I heard he went to Minnesota too. I can't wait to get on the back of his bike and ride to some far off place like Tampa, Florida. I"m SO EXCITED!!!

According to the source, Yoshiki is missing. The last his staff knows is that he's somewhere in LA but no one knows where, and rumor has it that he has cut off all contact with his staff, his bandmates, and his friends.

According to some info obtained by BGR, the next Sidekick is coming to T-Mobile on July 30th and it will be called "Sidekick 2008".

Formerly called the "Sidekick Gekko", the Sidekick 2008 is "small and compact with customizable shells" and it will "act as our entry-level device for those customers interested in recording and sharing videos, chatting on IM, connecting on MySpace, and more mobile Internet activities."

"Aimed at the young and social consumer", features of the Sidekick 2008 include:

• Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
• 2 megapixel camera able to record video
• 2.6 inch WQVGA screen
• Bluetooth with support for stereo A2DP and filesharing via Bluetooth

Since the Sidekick 2008 hasn't officially been announced yet let's still consider it a rumor, but it look like a very solid rumor with pictures of internal marketing material.

The first of the iPhone clones to get pretty good attention was the Meizu M8 (then called the MiniOne), back in November of last year.

After missing CES in January and CeBIT in March people seemed to forget about the M8 but now it's starting to get a bit of attention again.

Could the M8 actually be nearing release?

According to Meizu chief J. Wong, it just may.

Wong hinted at an August release in this post, saying that a basic model may be ready with 128MB of memory and a second model with 256MB and an 8GB flash storage card, would be out around October and go for roughly $320.

If it does [finally] get released, it may only be officially available in China. Maybe we'll find out more next month.

Your Spy Phone will now be in the bottom left of your screen. On top of the map.

Then there is a big update to your Player Card. All your clothes will be in categories and you'll find your clothes easier (but maybe not quicker). Also when you're not wearing a background, your background will be the same blue as the rest of the player card. Also when I click on my player card all the items first had to load :( and for some reason I was wearing member glasses (although that changed later).

Then when you visit your Igloo you'll see a part of Mother Nature, that's right, trees and snow and other stuff: Igloo Backgrounds!

Also when you click on the map, and then on Member Igloos. You'll see a new map with lots of igloos. It's cooler but not convenient.

Also there is a rumor about that you can have 300 buddies! Wwe Adam even says it. And he has a image, but on that image it says: 106/100 Buddies. So is this true or not?

There is also a bug, you can dance with the Newspaper. All you have to do is dance and then click on the newspaper :lol: This will be gone soon!

According to some inside information, two new Amazon Kindle e-book readers are coming as soon as October.

One of the new Kindle's will reportedly feature:

• Same size screen as the first Kindle (6-inch grayscale display with 600 x 800 resolution and 167 ppi)
• Smaller form factor than current model
• Improved interface over current model

The new Kindle will reportedly look a lot sleeker, with the source saying that Amazon has "skipped three or four generations" with the new look.

The second new Kindle, not expected to be out until next year, will be shaped more like an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper and will be noticeably larger than the current model.

Both models will be available in multiple colors and be aimed at younger readers.

Shares in Imperial Energy were up 22.8 percent at 947 pence at 0921 GMT, valuing the company at around 990 million pounds .

The sources, who are familiar with the situation, said Imperial would be unlikely to accept a bid below 12 pounds per share.

Imperial gave no details in its statement, which it said was in response to press speculation, except to confirm an approach.

Earlier on Monday, the Times of India said on its website that ONGC was in talks with Imperial about an alliance that could result in ONGC taking an equity stake in Imperial.

An ONGC spokesman declined comment.

While, I CAN confirm something having to do with FFVII will be announced soon,  I also have received the bad news that a FFVII remake is NOT the secret that has been rumored all around the net.

Sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news, especially with the recent announcement of FFXIII not being PS3 exclusive any longer.  I am sure you all know that I wish I was confirming it right now.

It's been nearly 6 years since Fugazi played their last show, at the Forum in London. The Dischord website has changed the information about their hiatus to say it was to concentrate on young families and other musical projects, instead of simply an indefinite hiatus (I am basing this on the fact I knew nothing of their family plans before and have read it 100 times).

No members of Fugazi appear to have any forthcoming musical projects, and with the recent birth of their child, it looks very much like The Evens will be taking a break for a while, so could it be?

As it stands now, the Bears have four quarterbacks on their roster: Rex Grossman, Kyle Orton, and two undrafted rookies. It's no secret they could do well to add a veteran.

Per Bucs Bonus, a Tampa Bay Buccaneers blog on Tampa Bay Online, the Bears are interested in disgruntled Buccaneers quarterback, Chris Simms.

Simms has called his relationship with head coach Jon Gruden "beyond repair" after Gruden made it clear Simms wasn't in the Bucs' plans. Simms believed a trade was on the horizon during this year's draft, but it never came to fruition. Now, Simms, buried on the depth chart behind Jeff Garcia, Brian Griese, Luke McCown, and fifth-round draft pick Josh Johnson, wants to be released immediately.

Simms didn't take one snap in 2007 and was eventually placed on injured reserve on Oct. 9, supposedly due to complications from the splenectomy he underwent in September of 2006. In a week 3 matchup against the Carolina Panthers, he absorbed multiple crushing hits and left the game for a short while before coming back and leading the Bucs to a score. After the game, it was revealed that he had suffered a ruptured spleen.

Simms is signed through 2008 and is schedule to earn a base salary of $2 million. The Lions and Cowboys are also said to be interested.

There has been a bunch of Gears of War 2 related news coming out of E3 this week including matchmaking specifics, new footage as well as a new multiplayer mode getting revealed. But also exciting was the reveal of the Gears of War 2 Limited Edition's contents which may include some mini Lancer love.

Thanks to the kind Gamestop folks, we know that for the extra $10 price of Limited Edition admission, you'll get steel DVD case, a 48 page "Beneath the Surface: An Inside Look at Gears of War 2" mini-book, a bonus behind the scenes DVD as well as a code to unlock an in-game gold plated Lancer. Not too shabby. But if you look closer, pictured to the right of the box looks to be an included Lancer mini-replica of some sort even though Gamestop doesn't list it as part of the contents. Funny thing is that this week, during the E3 festivities, we heard from an anonymous but totally reliable source that there will in fact be a mini-Lancer included in the GoW2 LE. Take it for what you will, but we'll be dreaming our mini Lancer dreams all week long.

Until now I'd only heard snippets of the song and then I spotted the video at Kanye's Blog. So dope and fun. Please peep the guys getting their Doo-wop/Four Tops/Stylistics on in the video. Paus Benediktus tiba di AS beberapa jam setelah pemimpin Katholik Roma tersebut mengaku merasa sangat malu dengan skandal seks yang terjadi di gereja Katholik Roma di negeri Paman Sam itu.
Gereja Katholik Roma di AS telah membayar hingga 2 miliar dolar AS terhadap gugatan kasus penyimpangan seks yang dilakukan oleh beberapa pastur terhadap anak-anak sejak tahun 1950, sebagian besar diantaranya terjadi dalam 6 tahun terakhir. Paus mengaku sulit memahami bagaimana kasus pedofilia sampai dilakukan oleh kalangan pastur.
Kunjungan Benediktus ke AS merupakan kunjungan pertama yang diadakan oleh seorang Paus sejak kasus Boston tahun 2002 meluas di AS hingga ke luar negeri. Sejak saat itu, setiap tahunnya beberapa warga AS atau mencapai ratusan orang mengaklaim pernah mengalami pelecehan seksual pada masa kanak-kanak di Keuskupun Boston.

Permohonan Paus ini disambut beragama. Beberapa media massa Barat menyambut positif. Sri Paus dinggap membuka cakrawala baru gereja dan menunjukkan sisi manusiawi gereja. Namun, ada juga yang mengecam karena gereja dianggap terlambat mensikapi wabah fedofil di kalangan rohaniawan.

Bertahun-tahun lamanya, gereja Katolik berusah menutupi skandal yang amat memalukan itu. Para rohaniwan fedofil hanya dipindahkan parokinya. Tapi Paus Benediktus XVI berbeda dari pendahulunya, dan menerima audiensi para korban pelecehan seksual itu. Ia juga memandang penting, untuk mengakui kesalahan institusi gereja. Tapi masih dipertanyakan, apakah akan Vatikan akan mengubah aturan gereja. Seharusnya sudah merupakan kelaziman, para pastor yang memperkosa anak-anak dicopot dari jabatannya. Sama halnya dengan tindakan kepada pihak yang mencoba menutupi skandal tsb.

Memperkuat Posisi Partai Republik ?

Disamping isu skandal seks gereja, kedatangan Paus juga tidak lepas dari isu politik. Maklum saja, suhu politik AS memang lagi panas menjelang pemilihan presiden AS. Kedatangan Paus yang dikenal anti homoseksual dan aborsi diduga untuk memperkuat posisi Republik. Pandangan Paus dianggap sejalan denganBush dan partai Republika yang selama ini memang dikenal ketat memegang teguh nilai-nilai kristiani. Berbeda dengan partai Demokrat yang lebih liberal, Bush dan Partainya mengecam homoseksual dan lesbianisme. Termasuk menentang praktik aborsi di negara itu.

Bush’s White House, (New York: The New Press, 2004), hal. 5), menulis bagaimana sejak Bush berkuasa di gedung putih secara rutin dilakukan studi Bible mingguan yang dihadiri lebih dari setengah staff Gedung Putih. Tidak mengherankan kalau berkali-kali Bush mengatakan kebijakannya dalam pemerintah di pengaruhi oleh ajaran kristen.

Berkaitan dengan Irak Bush mengatakan Tuhan mengatakan dia untuk menyerang al Qaida dan Saddam Husain : “God told me to strike at al-Qaeda and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East.”

Gereja kristen Evangelis yang banyak mempengaruhi Bush dikenal sama konservatif dengan kepausan. Kelompok kristen Evangelis inilah yang selama ini banyak mendukung Bush. Kalangan kulit putih penganut Evangelis meliputi hampir seperempat jumlah pemilih dan sebagian besar adalah anggota Partai Republik, partainya Bush. Mereka tetap komitmen untuk tetap mendukung agenda-agenda pro Israel.

Tokoh Evangelis yang juga dikenal sebagai tokoh Kristen konservatif paling berpengaruh di AS, James D. Dobson dalam wawancara dengan surat kabar The New York Times, Selasa (14/11) mengungkapkan, “Ajaran agama saya mengindikasikan bahwa Israel adalah tanah perjanjian.”

“Di sana ada Israel yang kecil dengan lima juta Yahudi yang terkepung, dikelilingi oleh setengah miliar umat Islam di mana para pemimpinnya ingin menenggelamkan Israel ke laut,” ujar Dobson dalam sebuah siarannya. Para tokoh Kristen konservatif di AS meyakini bahwa dukungan George W. Bush terhadap Israel selama ini adalah untuk melaksanakan perintah di Alkitab, yang menyebutkan agar negara Yahudi dilindungi.

Kegagalan Gereja

Sebelum mengunjungi AS, Paus Benediktus XVI menyampaikan pesan Paskahnya dengan menyerukan perdamaian di Irak, Palestina dan Tibet, Minggu (23/3). Paus menyinggung sejumlah kawasan panas yang hingga kini masih jauh dari damai, antara lain Darfur, Somalia, Timur Tengah, khususnya Lebanon, Irak dan Palestina, serta Tibet.

Namun ironisnya, saat bertemu dengan Bush, Paus tidak secara terbuka mengecam kebijakan AS di negara-negara tersebut yang oleh banyak pihak justru dianggap menjadi pangkal utama krisis di kawang tersebut . Hal ini tentu amat disayangkan. Padahal seharusnya Paus bicara lantang menentang kebijakan penjajahan AS di Irak. Seruan perdamaian Paus ditanggapi skeptis oleh banyak pihak.

Paus yang dianggap tokoh perdamaian tersebut tidak bisa menghentikan perang. Bahkan sekadar melarang tentara Italia pergi bersama AS memerangi umat Islam di Irak Paus tidak bisa. Paus dan Gereja juga tidak bisa berbuat banyak menghentikan praktik-praktik diskriminasi terhadap umat Islam di Eropa, seperti larangan jilbab di Prancis, meskipun Paus mengecamnya

Kegagalan gereja bisa dimengerti, karena Paus dan Gereja hanya bergerak dalam tataran spritual dan moral saja. Padahal berbagai persoalan manusia seperti perang, kemiskinan, konflik, atau kerusakan moral tidak bisa diselesaikan hanya dengan seruan-seruan spritual dan moral saja. Sebab, pangkal persoalan dari semua itu adalah sistem Kapitalisme sekular yang rusak. Penjajahan seperti di Irak, Afganistan, maupun Palestina, misalnya, jelas harus dilawan dengan perang/jihad terhadap sang penjajah, bukan sekadar dihadapi dengan seruan moral.

Paus dan Gereja terjebak dalam berbagai kontradiksi yang membingungkan dan menurunkan wibawa mereka sendiri. Di satu sisi Gereja menentang perang yang dilakukan oleh negara-negara kapitalis, di sisi lain Gereja hidup di bawah dukungan negara-negara kapitalis. Tentu sulit membayangkan dari mana dana Gereja yang demikian besar jika tidak didukung oleh perusahan-perusahan kapitalis dan negara-negara kapitalis yang mengeksploitasi kekayaan alam Dunia Ketiga, terutama Dunia Islam, secara rakus.

Di satu sisi Gereja menyerukan moral, tetapi di sisi lain praktik amoral banyak terjadi di kalangan Gereja sendiri. Kasus skandal seks kalangan Gereja bukan perkara baru, termasuk pelecehan seksual terhadap anak-anak di bawah umur alias pedophilia. Boleh jadi, inilah yang membuat Gereja gagal menghentikan kerusakan moral di Barat.

Lalu pemimpin seperti apa yang dibutuhkan dunia saat ini? Tidak lain pemimpin yang tidak hanya menyerukan perdamaian, tetapi juga bisa mewujudkan perdamaian. Dia adalah Khalifah, pemimpin tertinggi kaum Muslim, dengan sistem Khilafah-nya. Khalifahlah, dengan sistem Khilafah-nya, yang secara kongkret akan mampu menyelamatkan dunia dengan Islam; bukan Paus dengan Gereja dan ajaran Kristennya.

Sejarah telah membuktikan, pada masa lalu, Khalifah kaum Muslim pada masa Khilafah Utsmaniyah pernah memberikan bantuan pangan kepada rakyat Amerika pada abad ke-18 yang mengalami kelaparan setelah perang panjang melawan Inggris. Khalifah kaum Muslim pada masa Khilafah Utsmaniyah juga pernah melindungi Raja Swedia dan berbuat baik kepada Raja Prancis yang meminta perlindungan pada Khilafah.Khilafah Utsmaniah juga pernah melindungi rakyat Aceh dari penjajahan Portugis dengan mengirim ekspedisi militer besar di bawah laksamananya, Kortoglu Hizier Reis. I digress, this year the fourth was spectacular. Too Slim and the Tail draggers where the opening and closing act for the wee ones who provided a very clever commercial advertisement for the LIBERTY LAKE ATHLETIC CLUB specifically for the Tae Kwon Do classes offered through the club.
The other highlight of the evening was the breathtaking fireworks display over the lake.
Many Familys where attending with children. I was thankful that the "friends" allowed me the opportunity to explain to my young kids the reasons for the lights, law enforcement and fire
fighting personal and their ambulance making a last minute trip to the park was not for a community relations visit, rather they where arriving as the fireworks show began to attend to a women and man who had overdosed on drugs and or alcohol and had been rendered incapacitated directly in front of the stage!

So We extend out thanks to "THE FRIENDS OF PAVILLION PARK". Thank you for hosting an event which featured public displays of intoxication and the dangers of overdosing on drugs.

I would be suprised if it was a new game and did come out on the listed 9/30/2008 date. Perhaps it is an update of Halo 3 retail package that includes some goodies. Or it could be the latest Loeb and Sale joint!

The latest on Shoaib Akhtar is that he might not be a part of the squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy after all!

Reason: He has yet to pay a fine worth seven million Pak rupees to the Pakistan Cricket Board!

Although his 5 year long ban was reduced to 18 months, the fine slapped in him by the board had always been there. Now, even with the relaxation that he can play international cricket, it has been decided that he will not be picked for the probable 30 if he does not pay up!

With July 15 being the last date to announce the squad, Pakistan better move quick to resolve this issue. It's a classic 'pay per play' situation for our speedster!
