Sabato in slow motion dunque.
Krissy e io ci siamo vestite con molta calma, giocando con la macchina fotografica. Ecco i risultati:

Poi, bardate con sciarpa e giacca, siamo uscite a fare colazione... e ci siamo accorte di come ci stessimo perdendo una giornata assolutamnete favolosa! Sole, cielo terso, temperatura fredda ma secca - e niente vento, rarità per Columbus.
Una buona occasione per indossare i miei nuovi, bellissimi occhiali da sole - molto retrò e molto Audrey Hapburn ha ha :D

Colazione/pranzo (il famoso brunch) da Jack and Benny's, diner non lontano da casa nostra. Jack and Benny's è la quintessenza dell'americanità... cameriere sciatte, cuochi puzzolenti, televisioni che trasmettono la partita di football e ambiente più funzionale che esteticamente appetibile.
Giudicate un po':

Dopo una lauta colazione(/pranzo) a base di uova, pancetta, toast e patate, Krissy ed io abbiamo deciso di fermarci a fare shopping nel piccolo negozietto vintage e retrò di fianco al diner. Ho acquistato una bella maglia bianca, un coprispalle a collo alto rosa antico e una maglia nera molto comoda - a presto le foto!!
Dopo lo shopping, ci siamo rilassate un po' a casa e poi spesa a Giant Eagle. Verdure, formaggi, prosciutto, pane... il bello di fare la spesa con Krissy è che dividiamo tutto e spendiamo la metà! Mi sento davvero troppo fortunata ad avere Krissy - è come vivere con una cara sorella.

La serata si è conclusa per me con un bel film + popcorn: The Untouchables di Brian De Palma, bella rappresentazione dello scontro tra il crimine organizzato di Al Capone (Robert DeNiro) e quattro uomini che sacrificano tutto - anche la vita - per la giustizia. L'ambientazione nella Chicago degli anni '30 mi ha entusiasmata, e l'estrema eleganza di ogni personaggio mi ha fatto rimpiangere ancora una volta lo stile impeccabile del passato.

Oggi, sveglia molto tardi, verso mezzogiorno.
È incredibile come io passi da insonnia e iperattivismo durante la settimana a sonnolenza costante e accidia nel weekend: puntare la sveglia la domenica mattina è fondamentalmente inutile.
Appena sveglia, bucato e controllo email. Breve telefonata a mamma e papà, chiacchierata su Skype con Daniele (che mi ha fatto molto piacere sentire) e poi parlare con Krissy per ore, prima che lei vada al lavoro.
Domenica pigra e rilassante.

Ora una doccia e poi un po' di studio - il collo sta meglio, penso andrò ad ascoltare un po' di musica live stasera al Cafè Rumba (con Elena).

Sto valutando se tornare in Italia o no, a dicembre: da una parte la sfida di stare un anno intero lontana da casa, dall'altra la voglia di vedere mamma, papà, Michele e tutti gli amici... vedremo.

Una auténtica joya y un acierto de las cabezas pensantes (que aveces parecen muy poco operativas) del ente público.

Así que los viernes del 20 a 21 horas no tienes nada que hacer, pon la radio y pégate un baile con los hermanos Pizarro. Y si tienes algo que hacer, puedes escuchar el programa durante el resto de la semana en la web de Radio 3.

Eleven couples did two really difficult dances Monday night. Only ten of them will get to learn a new dance next week. Get a recap of the third elimination show after the jump!

I have to say one thing about how they start the elimination show: I love that they just have the intro and then don't waste time re-introducing the couples as they walk down the stairs to the stage. Why on Earth do they do that on dance nights? It's a waste of time.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way, I'm ready to write about the rest of the show.

YAY! We get to see Warren and Kym's paso doble! The more I watch this, the more I love it. I want Warren to keep getting better each week so he can be around for a long time! He honestly is one of the few I look forward to seeing this season.

The first couple safe: Toni and Alec. Next: Rocco and Karina. WOW! I guess fans of the celebrity chef got busy with the keypads.

Jessica Simpson performs her hit "Come on Over." The pro dancers perform. I want to watch, but I'm totally distracted by Jessica (in a bad way). I skip this part of the show. More couples advance: Cody and Julianne, Brooke and Derek advance to the next week of competition.

Len and Bruno are also judging the British version of the show. That's crazy - flying from Los Angeles to London and back every week! That's 11 hours one way! The UK version airs on Friday and Saturday nights. Well, now I know why they make some of the comments we hear.

Next up, some dance performance. They're wearing lighted costumes. It's kind of cool. It might be cooler if there weren't any lights on.

Jessica Simpson returns to perform "Angels." Cheryl and Maks dance (and it looks like Cheryl is wearing Kim Kardashian's dress). Again, Jessica's singing distracts me, so I hit fast forward. Tom Bergeron says you can pick a dance for the pros to do. Go here to pick the dancers. And then design a costume for them to wear to enter the contest to see the show in person! Susan and Tony are safe.

Also continuing to the next round: Warren and Kym, Maurice and Cheryl.

Lance and Lacey are safe. Misty and Maks are safe.

That leaves Cloris and Corky and Kim and Mark in the bottom two. Cue dramatic music. And the couple with the least amount of votes and leaving...

Kim and Mark. Mark, who helped Kristi Yamaguchi win, couldn't get Kim to shine. Oh well. At least his dad (Corky) is still in there - for now.

The top 10 will be back next week with new dances, sparkly costumes and the potential for a wardrobe malfunction.

This is last night's episode of Dancing with the Stars with Julianne and Cody Linley doing the Rumba. Who has your vote this season?

Judges: The gloves are coming off---Len and Bruno sometimes react as if the contestants are deliberately assaulting the dance---I like them better when they acknowledge what the celebrities have done well and offer them constructive criticism.  No one's going out there to dance badly on purpose---dancing just comes more naturally to some of the celebrities than others.  Be nice---tough love may work in private but blasting someone in front of an audience is unnecessarily harsh.  *exception: Master P.  Since he was barely rehearsing, it was clear that he didn't care about the dancing.  I was also really annoyed that better and more committed dancers were being voted off.

Who's Going Home: I like Cloris---but she's the weakest dancer.  If not her, then Kim.

Other Thoughts: The judges loved Brooke and Derek's Paso but, although technically it was fine, something about it just didn't work for me.

The most pressing question for me this week: will 82-year-old Cloris Leachman have a wardrobe malfunction? Seriously, she needs to put those things away. This week, the eleven couples perform either the paso doble or the rumba. These dances increase the odds of malfunction on Ms. Leachman's part. Does it happen? Find out after the jump!

Toni Braxton & Alec Mazo

Dance: Rumba

Alec should not quit his day job. When they showed him singing Toni's hit "Un Break My Heart," my dog stopped to look at the TV. I notice through much of this dance, I couldn't see Toni's face, so I just focused on her movement. She was sexy. Those split things she did - wow!

Len says he was surprised how good the performance was. He said it lacked some fluidity. Bruno says Toni gives it, but not too much. Carrie Ann says Toni moves like she sings. She says she loved it, but there were two lifts (Toni's feet came off the ground twice).

Brooke Burke & Derek Hough

Dance: Paso Doble

I am so impressed with Brooke! She moves like a professional! Derek worked wonders with the cape. It was a solid performance. The music had me thinking of one of those diamond commercials.

Carrie Ann says she was mesmerized. She said Brooke looked off balance a couple of times. Len says he thought Brooke portrayed the aggression very well. He said there was too much messing about at the start. Bruno says Brooke was born to dance. He says she had great timing.

Rocco DiSpirito & Karina Smirnoff

Dance: Rumba

The show starts with Rocco in an apron (he's a chef, get it?). Then, out comes Karina in a little lavender dress. I didn't feel like Rocco did much dancing. Karina worked it. Rocko just held her in position.

Bruno says the stallion has run out of juice. Then he said he was standing there like "The Thing." Carrie Ann says Rocco had passion, but he was lacking musicality. Len says there were more tears than cheers. He says it wasn't really tasty.

Lance Bass & Lacey Schwimmer

Dance: Paso Doble

It was aggressive. It was a little bit like that dance when Cha Cha moves in on Danny in "Grease." I liked it, but could have done without the kiss at the end.

Len says it doesn't work. He wanted the cape. Carrie Ann says it was a clever song choice. She says she likes that they take big risks. Bruno says they're brilliant to walk. Bruno says he has to present like a bull fighter, but it looked more hip hop. Len made fun of Bruno's arm gestures.

Kim Kardashian & Mark Ballas

Dance: Rumba

Kim looked a little lost the brief time she was out of hold. And she didn't look at Mark a whole lot. It looked like she almost lost her top at the end of the dance.

Bruno says it was colder and more distant that Siberia. He says she needs to get the character and sell it. Len says Kim has so much potential. He says the rumba has to show chemistry and hip action. He says she had all the gear in the rear. Carrie Ann says she needs to watch the playback because it looks like she's done the same dance three times.

Misty May-Treanor & Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Dance: Paso Doble

OOOH! Maks is wearing a vest sans shirt. Now, I'm focusing on Misty. There was something off. I don't know if she wasn't finishing the steps or if she was scared, but something wasn't right. The cartwheel over Maks was cool!

Carrie Ann thanked Misty for the energy in the dance. She told Maks it was ambitious choreography. Bruno called her "Xena the Warrior Princess." He says he loved her energy, he says she puts so much power that she stumbles a little bit. Len says what she does when she is focused, Misty loses the connection with Maks.

Maurice Greene & Cheryl Burke

Dance: Rumba

This was nice. That's all I got. Oh, and Maurice was wearing green.

Len says Maurice talked the talk, but he didn't dance the dance. He says Maurice's hips weren't cooking. Carrie Ann says the choreography held him back. She wants him to project his energy outward. Bruno says he's surprised because Maurice was rough and clunky.

Cloris Leachman & Corky Ballas

Dance: Paso Doble

Cloris had on a dark wig as part of her character. She was actually pretty good! I am impressed - and not just because she's a senior citizen (and barely older than my grandmother).

Bruno said it was surreal. Len says it was a lovely traditional dance to traditional music. He liked the solo spins. He called a great attempt at a difficult dance. Carrie Ann says she hopes when she's 82 that she's half the woman as Cloris. And Carrie Ann stopped there.

Susan Lucci & Tony Dovolani

Dance: Rumba

Susan opened Tony's shirt at the beginning. Woo! This was a cross between Pocahantas and some beach fantasy. It was S-L-O-W, but it was nice.

Carrie Ann says it was nice. She says it was smooth and elegant. Bruno says it was a good rumba, but she said Susan dances like the virgin queen - he wants more cougar. Len didn't like it when Tony exposed himself. Len says the rumba is an actor's dance and that's what Susan did.

Warren Sapp & Kym Johnson

Dance: Paso Doble

I'm not gonna lie - I'm worried about Kym. If Warren uses all his strength, he could crush her! Warren definitely had his game face on. This looked like "The Matrix." It was interesting. I kind of wish Warren hadn't been wearing that long jacket, it was was kind of hard to see his feet. Then, I was afraid he really would crush her when he stopped at the end - they're costumes were stuck or something.

Len says Warren looked good (and he thought Kym didn't look bad, either). He thought it was an intense and excellent paso doble. Carrie Ann called him the paso doble killer. Bruno says "The Paso gone Matrix." He says it was like a Lamborghini on the freeway. He says the way Warren moves his feet is fabulous.

Cody Linley & Julianne Hough

Dance: Rumba

Wow! So good! I cannot believe how young Cody is! He dances like he's been doing this forever! How Julianne managed to go the whole dance without tripping over her dress surprised me.

Bruno says Cody needs to learn control. He says Cody has the talent. Len says it lacked a little bit of polish and finesse. He told Carrie Ann to avert her eyes because Cody is on fire. Carrie Ann says it was innocent and age appropriate. She does think Cody needs to loosen up his hips (is that creepy?).

Cloris, Kim and Rocco are all at the bottom of the leader board this week, and I think they belong there. The other couples are much stronger. I think one of them will go home - at least they should. Tuesday night, we don't just say goodbye to one couple. Jessica Simpson performs (go ahead and boo, haters). Oh, and I know some of you want to know more about the music on the show. Mañana Sábado tenemos concierto en Jaen, así que he colocado los niños con unas amigas (benditas amigas) que me han hecho el gran favor de quedárselos pa que yo pueda ir a trabajar. Como hace buen tiempo se han ido fuera de Sevilla y en vez de llevarse los niños mañana, se los han llevado hoy Viernes tempranito por la tarde, así que me he quedado en casa sola, más a gusto que otro poco.

Estoy pensando que cualquier Sábado de estos me invento una gala bien lejos y me quedo en casa el fin de semana, rodeada de periódicos y semanales, comiendo porquerías y viendo la tele sin soltar el mando. Justo como antes de que llegaran esos locos bajitos que tanto queremos pero que tanto trabajo nos dan.

A l’occasion de la rentrée du ciné (la place à 3,5€ - c’était la semaine dernière), je suis allée voir Rumba, un film complètement loufoque de Dominique Abel, Fiona Gordon et Bruno Romy.

C’est déjanté, décalé, coloré et surtout très drôle ! J’y allais avec un peu de réticence, sans être sûre d’arriver à totalement entrer dans le film… en fait, je n’ai eu aucun mal à apprécier l’humour et la poésie du film.

En deux mots, c’est l’histoire de deux amoureux, enseignants dans une école de campagne (elle prof d’anglais, lui prof de sport), qui dansent la rumba et semblent faits pour ça. Un soir, après un concours de danse, ils évitent de justesse d’écraser un suicidaire posté sur la route mais pas le mur juste à côté. Ils s’en sortent tant bien que mal : elle perd sa jambe, lui perd la mémoire…

Le film est plein de jolies scènes et de clins d’œil rigolos (juste un exemple : à la sortie de l’école, on voit les enfants quitter leur classe en criant de joie, suivis peu après par leurs profs, au moins aussi contents qu’eux…).

Par son esthétisme et sa fantaisie, Rumba m’a fait penser aux dessins animés de type Avery et au cinéma burlesque muet : très peu de dialogue (ou alors sans aucun sens : essayez par exemple de faire répéter des phrases en anglais à une classe de primaire…), des couleurs vives, des gags très très gros (mais qui font rire et s’enchaînent sans lourdeur), et surtout le talent et les expressions des deux protagonistes (qui sont vraiment excellents dans leur rôle). Tout ça donne une très jolie histoire d’amour, une leçon de vie toute simple et un gros coup de cœur cinématographique !

Pour en savoir plus et s’informer sur les séances de Rumba (allez le voir, c’est génial !! sinon, il faudrait attendre la sortie en dvd, mais le film mérite le grand écran)

El directe de "La pell del viólí" es va estrenar davant de Martí i Pol i té continuïtat en format reduït i acústic o amb banda de 11 músics i amb pinzellades de dansa contemporània i flamenc.

"La pell del violí" es va enregistrar a Ariadna Records i pots escoltar-lo a la Biblioteca de Figueres.
