Brasil adota sistema unificado de registro civil 
O governo federal apresentou nesta terça-feira (8), durante o Encontro Nacional de Identificação, realizado em Brasília, o Cartão de Registro de Identidade Civil (RIC). O novo sistema permitirá a integração de diversos dados e inibir falsificações.  O Cadastro de Pessoa Física (CPF), o título de eleitor e a carteira da Previdência Social convergirão em um único documento. O RIC começará a ser implantado em janeiro e a meta é atender toda a população em até nove anos.
  
A nova carteira de identidade contará com um chip microprocessador, responsável pelo armazenamento dos dados do cidadão, além de outros dispositivos modernos. Gravação a laser de informações em camadas internas do cartão e marcas d´água visíveis apenas na luz negra têm por objetivo coibir fraudes. A Polícia Federal estima que 16 milhões de documentos de identidade falsos circulem no Brasil atualmente.
  
A ferramenta para execução do projeto RIC foi adquirida em 2004, quando o governo  investiu U$ 35 milhões no Sistema Automatizado de Identificação de Impressões Digitais (AFIS), colocado sob a responsabilidade do Ministério da Justiça.

Palestras  - Com o objetivo de explicar o funcionamento e demonstrar as vantagens do novo sistema, o Encontro Nacional de Identificação, promovido pelo Departamento de Polícia Federal e Ministério da Justiça, promove esta semana diversas palestras e debates com especialistas nacionais e internacionais, em Brasília.
  
No local, foi criada a “cidade digital”, onde os participantes do evento poderão conhecer o funcionamento do AFIS. O mecanismo tornará o cadastramento por meio de impressões digitais mais rápido e seguro, já que unificará os banco de dados de todo o território nacional, impedindo que uma mesma pessoa possua mais de um RIC. Além disso, o AFIS vai agilizar a identificação de qualquer cidadão, auxiliando as investigações policiais.
  
O projeto ainda prevê parcerias com órgãos regionais, criando estações de coleta por todo o País, além de facilitar o processo de centralização dos dados. Com a medida, a segunda via do documento poderá ser requisitada em qualquer unidade da Federação.
  
A expectativa do governo é, a partir do terceiro ano de implantação, realizar 80 mil cadastramentos por dia e alcançar a meta de 20 milhões de cadastros anuais. Em nove anos, 150 milhões de brasileiros terão o seu número de RIC.

A lot of orientation meetings have put me in a place that I have a good idea of what is in store for me and my two fellow apprentices this summer.  I'm really excited to be getting into business work, and also hands on stuff (even though laundry doesn't sound fun, 4 hours and 100 bucks at a laundromat is a nice change of pace)

I'm really excited to be working for High Mountain Institute this summer.   I mean... just look at this view!!

I also know there is a lot riding on my shoulders and I'm finally feeling like I'm in a place to strap on the harness and bear it all.  I have felt crippled a couple times, but Charise's advice has been in my head and has helped curb the feelings.  I talked to Ric for over an hour tonight and I was able to be in a place to sit with these feelings and handle them without breaking down.  I have found my comfort food:  Ric's homemade pad thai (that I will attempt to recreate in the coming days)

Knowing my time schedule, updates may be a couple days between, though I will try my best to update sooner something note-worthy happens.

This opportunity opened up to me and I was chosen for a reason, I'm ready to work my ass off, maybe a couple pounds elsewhere, and not let this experience go to waste!  The next two months will be very exciting!

Sitting at the table eating dinner, I was having a hard time trying to keep it down. The food wasn't bad, and it wasn't like I was full and trying to get more in as anticipation of the long flights tomorrow and expensive airport food. It wasn't even the food I was trying to keep down. It only happens when I have time to think about what's happening around me. Trying not to choke on tears my mind doesn't stop anywhere in particular, only going through feelings and thoughts of experiences I'm going to miss here with the people I love.

It's only crippling for a few moments before I can get a grip again. I'm feeling overwhelmed, under slept, and extremely nervous. I know once I step foot off the Denver terminal ( and get my luggage) everything will be much easier. As Ric put it "it's like heading into summer is easier than heading into winter." Thats a great way to put it, and thats how it's going to seem because apparently they still have plenty of snow where I'm going (10,000 ft go figure). Metaphorically speaking it's much easier coming back because theres a lot less anxiousness and a big sense of relief and accomplishment.

The best way I can honor these feelings of intense missing is to make sure I get the most of this trip. I plan to not only be the greatest apprentice HMI's ever had, I'm going to make sure I make a lot of progress on personal issues and how I want to go about carrying myself. I'll also have plenty of practice with my camera so I can pursue that road if desired.

Here's a picture from my house yesterday, and it's a good way to remember the scenery that makes my house bearable.

Much more note-worthy than advancing past teenage years was Ric and my first anniversary. May 12th is the date to know; it has been a progressive year as relationships go but tonight I will only focus Ric and I. We ate at Papa Franks in Winooski then walked around the area to begin the digest the copious amounts of pasta, good pasta.

As we were walking a truck drove by and the only words able to be picked out of the sputtering was "fucking faggots" followed by a seemingly drunk white trash girl hanging out the window yelling something. That had been the first time I've had someone say something to me about being gay and I had been wondering when it would happen. I wasn't bothered by it much, it was just grounding to know there will always be ignorant people for as long as there are differences; and that applies to all things.

We've had a year filled with ups, downs, curve balls, and overwhelming feelings of love and joy. We continue to enjoy the company of the other and find ways to make the long-distance relationship succeed. It helps he co-owns Kasini House, an art gallery here, so he is in Burlington almost every week or I'll visit him in Montreal for a few days.

The image below was taken while we were waiting for the ferry to go to NY on a trip that would eventually put us in Philly for a day/night picking up artwork. He needed a new portrait shot and this captures him well. Cool, calm, and always traveling.

Other important things that happened this year...

• Made a lot of new friends at school and outside of school
• Changed my major and enjoying the classes
• Got a significant tattoo
• Emotional strength and stability
• Moved to a new house
• Started a couple blogs and began to build an online reputation using what I learned in classes
• Bought a camera to progress in photography and keep a blog
• Applied and was accepted to go to High Mountain Institute for two months working as an apprentice starting next week

All in all, it was a great year, ready to make this one even better than the last; there's always room for improvement and don't plan on letting the year be anything less than fantastic.

i've got a feeling it's automatic

I took a different approach this trip and I listened to Thrice - A Song For Milly Michaelson. Ric and I have created a connection over this song so it not only reminded me of him as I entered the city, but it's simple guitar loop and heartbeat drum shows the versatility of a busy cityscape. Time seems to slow as you approach everything, street lamps passing by on tempo...

The trip was great; A lot of personal ground was covered and I feel good about where we stand and am looking forward to the next time I'm able to visit. Ric and I are about to celebrate our first year together on Monday the 12th, not sure what we're going to do, but this trip put us in an even better position than before.

In addition to all the personal stuff that went on, I was able to get a lot of camera time in. Late Sunday night Ric and I drove around, finding graffiti, Buddhist temples, getting fresh bagels, all that fun stuff. Here's an interesting place we found while looking at graffiti

Monday was the first clear day we had for a while, so I went off for an hour or so to see what I could find. I walked down Ste Catherine, and down by Amherst and stopped at the park. There were the typical skaters, and after much internal debate, I decided to set up shop (which included sitting down and putting on a 70-210mm lens) and get some action shots for a change; it's good to be versatile right?

So after some work, and a lot of help from a good friend I have this to show off:

I am super proud of this one. I would love to hear critiques of my images. I'm a huge fan of constructive criticism, I want to progress as a photographer as much as possible so any help that is offered will be greatly appreciated.

Aprofitant que estem en plenes Festes de Maig, l'Ajuntament de Badalona ha netejat tota la merda que tapava els contenidors d'escombraries de la ciutat. I a sota ha aparegut la veritable fesomia i condició de cadascun d'ells. La desigualtat manifesta entre els afectats ha provocat una revolta que ara mateix sembla imparable.

"O juiz Antônio Carlos Choma, da 8.ª Vara Criminal de Curitiba, concedeu a liberdade provisória para o ex-deputado estadual e apresentador de tevê Ricardo Chab e para o advogado Antônio Neiva de Macedo Filho - presos há uma semana em flagrante pelo crime de extorsão. Chab e o advogado devem deixar a carceragem do Centro de Triagem II, em Piraquara, na região metropolitana de Curitiba, na tarde desta sexta-feira (2).

Pouco antes de 10h, Chab e Macedo Filho deixaram o CT II e foram até a 8º Vara, no Centro de Curitiba para assinar o termo de liberdade. Cerca de uma hora depois retornaram a carceragem para aguardar o cumprimento da ordem judicial. A decisão do magistrado foi encaminhada para a Vara de Execuções Penais (VEP) de Curitiba - que vai cumprir a ordem. O apresentador e o advogado deixarão o CT II somente depois da chegada do oficial de Justiça - que vai cumprir a ordem de liberdade provisória.

Chab e Macedo Filho responderão em liberdade ao processo criminal por crime de extorsão. Na última quarta-feira (30), o promotor de Justiça Cláudio Franco Félix, da Vara de Inquéritos Policiais (VIP), apresentou denúncia contra apresentador e o advogado. A denúncia do Ministério Público do Paraná relata que Chab e Macedo Filho praticaram a extorsão por duas vezes - tendo como alvo, em ambas as vezes, o proprietário da empresa de segurança Centronic, Nilso Rodrigues de Godoes. Da primeira vez, em outubro de 2007, o apresentador e o advogado teriam exigido R$ 100 mil - sendo pago R$ 80 mil em duas parcelas.

E a mais recentemente, que resultou na prisão em flagrante dos dois, Chab e Macedo Filho exigiram do dono da empresa R$ 150 mil, valor que caiu para R$ 70 mil após negociação. Quando o empresário foi pagar a primeira parcela, de R$ 35 mil, Macedo Filho foi preso em flagrante, com o montante na pasta.

O presidente da Câmara de Colombo, o vereador petista Onéias Ribeiro de Souza, também foi denunciado pelo promotor. A denúncia relata que o parlamentar participou somente da segunda extorsão. Apesar do envolvimento, Onéias não teve a prisão decretada pela Justiça.

Chab e Macedo foram presos na sexta-feira, na sede da Rádio Mais, em São José dos Pinhais, na região metropolitana de Curitiba. Os dois são acusados de extorquir a empresa de segurança Centronic. De acordo com a polícia, há cerca de dez dias eles estariam coagindo a empresa a pagar R$ 70 mil. Do contrário, informações sobre um suposto envolvimento de um vigia da Centronic no desaparecimento de um morador da região metropolitana seriam apresentadas por Chab nos programas que comandava na RIC TV, afiliada da Rede Record, e na Rádio Mais."

Consideran que la “reconversión” supondrá pagar con los impuestos de todos los beneficios especulativos de empresas exentas de impuestos

A través de un comunicado, Los Verdes de Tenerife han manifestado su “radical desacuerdo con las propuestas de un egoísmo patético que últimamente salen de la patronal de la construcción, Fepeco”. El portavoz en Tenerife de Los Verdes, Octavio Hernández, señala que “los constructores pretenden utilizar fondos públicos a toda costa con tal de que no bajen los precios de la vivienda por la sobreoferta y el parón hipotecario, y suspiran por que paguemos con los impuestos de todos los beneficios especulativos de empresas que están exentas de impuestos gracias a la RIC”. Así se refirió el portavoz verde a la última propuesta de la patronal, que ha instado al Gobierno de Canarias a la integración en el parque público de vivienda de las promociones que tienen difícil salida en el mercado por la crisis, mediante la recalificación de viviendas de promoción privada en viviendas de protección oficial. Los Verdes-Grupo Verde consideran que “los empresarios no quieren bajar los precios desorbitados de los últimos años, sino alterar el mercado con esta recalificación mediante los acuerdos hipotecarios en vivienda protegida y las subvenciones públicas a la adquisición de VPO”. Hernández explica que las facilidades publicas en forma de préstamos, subsidios y ayudas directas para la compra en el Plan de Vivienda de Canarias 2005-2008, en el caso de la Comunidad autónoma oscilan entre 3.000 y hasta 12.000 euros para el comprador y hasta 13.000 euros para el promotor “que saldrían del erario público e irían a parar al bolsillo del constructor, apalancando los precios con fondos públicos para que no bajen y no perder dinero”. Los Verdes consideran que  “las restricciones hipotecarias y la caída en la compra de viviendas se deben a la saturación del mercado y deben resolverse según la ley de la oferta y la demanda, bajando los precios en la libre competencia, no evadiéndola mediante privilegios fiscales o subsidiarios”. Octavio Hernández recuerda que el objetivo del Plan de Vivienda de Canarias es, según indica en la exposición de motivos el propio Gobierno, “favorecer su acceso a los sectores de la población más desfavorecidos o que con menores recursos económicos no pueden acceder a una vivienda digna a los precios actuales del mercado”. Sin embargo, critica Hernández, “Fepeco pretende convertirlo en un plan para favorecer la venta a los sectores de la población más privilegiados que han ganado dinero a manos llenas en la última década porque no pueden vender las viviendas con los precios actuales del mercado, y se resisten a bajarlos, ni construirlas, con los límites de riesgo financiero y tipos de interés actuales, por la gran cantidad de viviendas que hay vacías debido a que la renta familiar disponible no permite a la gente comprarlas”. Los Verdes consideran que “las administraciones deben resistir las presiones de la patronal y dejar que bajen los precios para que tenga salida el parque privado de viviendas al menor coste para el erario público y para los compradores, y se racionalice así de manera espontánea y no por una vía intervensionista el sector de la construcción e inmobiliario, que está claramente hipertrofiado, sobrepreciado y sobredimensionado”.

"When you got hurt this year, I know it affected everybody but it affected me a lot, just because I knew everything you were going through in the summer and all the hard work you were going through. I told everybody this year especially in the media, they were constantly asking about opportunities for me when Bobby went down or Ty got hurt, but I never took it as that. The more power we had on this team was when everybody was playing. I wish you the best. I love you to death. I can't wait to see you back out there next year."

How fitting it is that the greatest wrestler of all time ends his career on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Silence engulfed the Citrus Bowl as more than 70,000 of screaming fans seemed amazed because they had just witnessed history – the end of a legendary career.

Flair knew he lost to not only a better competitor this night, but to a man he somewhat molded. In many ways, his career was ended by a near carbon copy of himself.

    Back in 1978, the original "Nature Boy," Buddy Rogers, challenged Flair because he needed to know if his namesake was “for real.” Rogers passed the torch to Flair that night, and nearly 30 years later, the 16-time World Champion has passed it on to Michaels. The Showstopper beat “The Man” on the greatest stage in sports-entertainment. Still, Flair will always be The Man.

The legends like Naitch, HBK Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, The Rock, The Game these are my heros. They taught me to hang in there for that minute longer, will to survive, will to win, fight for that one more time and never give up. It was Flair who taught us, “To be the man, you've gotta beat the man”, something i'll always live by.

     The career of “The Dirtiest Player in the Game”,“Rembrandt of the Squared Circle,” 35 years of entertainment ends here. But just look at the champions he has mentored and inspired – Triple H, Michaels, Batista and Randy Orton, Me :) to name a few. And DX, Evolution, the New World Order and any other wrestling supergroup that will form in the years to come owe gratitude to Flair’s Four Horsemen. The Nature Boy’s legacy lives on.
