At least for those who are on Mission College campus and are connected with LAN connection, they won't be able to see pictures on my blog (the earliest posts, that is). Luckily most of the readers (yup, you guys) are off-campus, so not really a catastrophe lah. I've started to host pictures from Wordpress itself though. I hope I won't used up the whole 3GB.

The deadline for the 2008 Hike the Highlands Festival photo contest is October 7th. Categories are as follows - Best Photo, Best Scenery, Best Flora Photo, Best Flauna Photo, Best People shot and Best Humour.

There are a number on on-line photo editors to help you . Here are just a few them : Fotoflexer, Picture2Life, Photoshop Express,  Phixr,  Pixenate, Snipshot , Splashup.  Try them out - they are all free and pick the one that suits you.

You can send you photo(s) by e-mail - hikethehighlands@gmail.com or provide a link to a website that hosts photos ie. flickr.com,  Adobe Photoshop Services - Kodac Gallery, Picasa Web albums, and  Photobucket.

We look forward to seeing your photos of the 2008 Hike the Highlands festival. 1st place winners get a free Hike the Highland Pass next year and photos used on our website and promotional material. You must have participated in the festival in order to enter the photo contest.

　その他いろいろ不調につき、iPod touchを初期化とか復元とかしてみた。

　photobucketのappはiTunesに「互換性がありません」と言われる。うむ、touchはだめらしい。なんでだ、どうしてだ。

　もともとfor iPhoneと書いてあるわけで、条件にもtouchで使えるとは書いてないんだが。スクリーンショットなんかをWi-Fi経由でアップロードするのにすごい便利だっただけに残念。

　これはiPhoneをいいかげんに買えということか。

Majoritatea a-ti auzit de inspaimantatorii virusi. Si v-ati asigurat cu un antivirus bun. Corect?
Ei bine, va anunt ceva care s-ar putea sa va intereseze: exista mai multe feluri de programe in afara de virusi, care va pot devasta calculatorul complet.
Astazi vom invata sa ne ferim de asa zisii "spyware", un fel de programarase invizibile care modifica registrii calculatorului. (daca ti-au disparut vreodata anumite optiuni la foldere, sau calculatorul tau a inceput sa-si de-a restart singur, atunci stii la ce ma refer)
Programul care va va ajuta sa va feriti de acesti spioni este Spybot: S&D (Search and Destroy).
Va va reface registrii in intregime chiar de la prima pornire si va ramane activ in permanenta, avertizandu-va din cand in cand ca a blocat vre-un fisier malitios.
Ce trebuie sa faceti este sa il instalati pe calculator, apasand Download HERE, iar apoi "run as" sau "install".

TASTATURA - DICTONAR DE COMENZI RAPIDE [02 SEPTEMBRIE]

Calculatorul (pe numele lui de drept PC - Personal Computer) a fost creat astfel incat tu sa iti poti face munca cea de toate zilele intr-un ritm pe cat de rapid, pe-atat
de eficace. Astazi vei invata unele din cele mai folosite comenzi rapide, usor de retinut si foarte eficiente:

Tasta CTRL (situata in partea de jos-stanga a tastaturii, prescurtata de la Control) este cea mai folosita pentru comenzi rapide:

• ctrl+c = copiaza (alternativa click dreapta-> copy)
• ctrl+v = lipeste (alternativa click dreapta-> paste)
• ctrl+f = cauta in pagina (alternativa search sau find in orice program, functioneaza la fel in paginile web)
• ctrl+a = selecteaza tot (alternativa click dreapta-> select all)
• ctrl+x = taie/muta (alternativa click dreapta-> cut)
• ctrl+z = desface (alternativa undo)
• ctrl+shift+z = reface (alternativa redo)
• ctrl+alt+delete = deschide un panou ce include: task manager, log off, shut down si change password

(ctrl+alt+delete este foarte bun pentru sistemele care dau multe errori; din task manager se pot inchide fortat programele cu tagul "Not Responding")

Pentru programe, se folosesc in general comenzile:

• alt + Tab = schimba pagina din bara de comanda (alternativa winkey)
• alt + tasta F4 = inchide programul curent automat
• ctrl+s = salveaza documentul/pagina (alternativa File-> Save)
• ctrl + r = inlocuieste (alternativa File-> Edit, folosit in general pentru editoarele de text gen Microsoft Word si Notepad)

Pentru paginile de Internet se folosesc doua comenzi foarte eficiente:

• ctrl+f = cautarea unui cuvant specific din document (search)
• ctr+s = salveaza ca (alternativa File-> save As, care va salva pagina de internet pe calculatorul dumneavoastra, pe desktop)
• Backspace = Inapoi la pagina precedenta

POSTAREA IMAGINILOR DE PE PHOTOBUCKET.COM [01 AUGUST]

Ieri am aflat cum se face un screen-shot si cum se uploadeaza acesta sau orice alt document media pe Internet.

(upload = incarcare)

Astazi vom invata sa postam pozele noastre pe site-uri si bloguri.

Vom folosi ca exemplu Blogul meu si site-ul Photobucket.com :)

Sa vedem, avem urmatoarea poza postata pe Photobucket.com:

Aceasta reprezinta casuta de uploading pentru fisiere, a site-ului Photobucket.

Pentru a o posta pe un site, la fel cum am facut eu mai sus, ai nevoie de un "click" si de un "click dreapta -> paste".

Unde dam click? Dupa uploadul fisieurului tau, Photobucket iti va prezenta pozele din album.

Acolo vei gasi iconitele pozelor tale, iar dedesubtul acestora niste coduri.

Poza de mai jos iti arata destul de clar:

Ceea ce vei copia tu pe site-ul tau, asa cum am facut eu pe blog va arata ceva in felul urmator:

Initial, poza postata de dumneavoastra va da optiunea de a face click pe ea, pentru a va trimite pe Photobucket.com.

Prin eliminarea primului cod <a href="..."> si a sintaxei de incheiere </a> , poza dumneavoastra nu va mai avea acest atribut si va arata la fel ca
toate pozele folosite pe internet :) Bravo! Acum stii sa pui poze pe Bloguri si orice alte pagini de Internet pe care le administrezi sau unde ai profile :)

SCREEN-SHOTS SI UPLOAD [31 AUGUST]

Bun. Ieri am invatat ca Mozilla e mai bun decat Internet Explorer.

Astazi invatam sa facem screenshot-uri si sa punem pozele pe Internet.

1. Cum se face un screen-shot.

Screen-shot = capturarea imaginii afisate pe monitorul calculatorului si salvarea acesteia in format .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .gif sau orice alt tip de fisier gen poza. Ca sa facem asta avem
nevoie de:

- una bucata buton marcat "Print Screen" sau "PrtScr / SysRq" sau "PrtScr" , situat de-obicei in parte de sus-dreapta a tastaturii sau mijloc-dreapta, dupa caz.

- una bucata program de editare poze, de exemplu Paint.exe, care vine o data cu Windowsul. Pentru a obtine un screenshot vom apasa intai butonul Print
Screen. Deschidem Paint-ul din Start -> All Programs -> Accesories -> Paint (de regula, locatia poate varia)

Selectam din meniul "edit" optiunea "paste", sau apasam tastele Ctrl+V. Imaginea a fost creata. Selectam din meniul "file" optiunea "save as" , alegem locatia si tipul fisierului (recomand .jpeg
sau .jpg) Fisierul a fost creat :)

2. Cum punem imagini pe Internet?

Pai, pentru utilizatorii cu astfel de nevoi, cel mai simplu este sa ii directionez pe unul din site-urile:

A. Photobucket.com sau

B. Tinypic.com

In ambele cazuri trebuie sa va faceti un account, prin accesarea optiunuii "sign up" respectiv "join". Notati-va undeva parola si Usernameul. Ambele site-uri sunt absolut
gratuite si nu necesita decat un minim de informatii pentru alcatuirea unui account. Spatiul de stocare este mare, si puteti pune atat poze cat si animatii sau chiar filmulete gen
"youtube". Sunt usor de folosit, iar aranjarea pe foldere e la dispozitia ta. Nu-ti fie frica sa ma intrebi ceva, daca nu stii.

Iti voi raspunde in maxim 3 ore :)

SFATUL CU MOZILLA [30 AUGUST]

Am observat recent ca majoritatea romanilor inca mai folosesc Internet Explorer6, 7, sau 8.

Astazi va vom da urmatorul sfat: folositi Mozilla.

A aparut Mozilla 3 si e superb! Mozilla este un browser destept si rapid, mult mai eficient - din punctul meu de vedere - decat Internet Explorer.

 Are antivirus propriu, firewall, si in plus merge mult mai repede si nu da erori.

Asa, acum ca ai devenit interesat, sa vedem cum luam mozilla:

1 - click AICI

2 - vedeti o poza galbena cu sigla. Click pe poza.

3 - daca nu stii engleza ca sa urmezi instructiunile lor, apasa Run, sau Save/Save as la casuta care iti apare pe ecran dupa click.

4 - click de 2 ori pe fisierul salvat cel mai probabil pe desktop, pentru a instala programul. Accepta termenii si click next, apoi finish.

5 - deschide Mozilla si tocmai te-ai ales cu un browser impecabil care te scuti de vesnica eroare "Internet Explorer has encounterd errors and will be closed by Windows"

Bravo, de-acum poti sa-mi citesti Blogul in cele mai bune conditii ;)

MEMO PE CALCULATOR

Cati dintre noi nu folosim zilnic un morman de foite, hartii, memo-uri, insemnari aruncate aiurea pe tot felul de servetele si carnetele? Astazi te voi invata sa folosesti o lista de genul "de
facut/to do list" pe calculatorul tau, folosind Notepadul. Hai ca stiu ca-l ai in calculator ;) Te va ajuta sa iti organizezi toate gandurile si chestiile ce nu trebuie sa le uiti si va fi prezent
pe dektopul calculatorului tau ori de cate ori ai nevoie de o "improspatare". Nu ocupa spatiu, nu-ti trebuie pix, nu tebuie sa stii in ce data si la ce ora ai scris, pentru ca iti va spune singur
;) Deci, ce trebuie sa faci este:

1 - deschide notepadul (click dreapta -> new -> text document )

2 - scrie: .LOG (ca in imaginea de mai jos) salveaza si inchide documentul.

3 - inchide-l (si da-i save, de preferat sa-l ai pe desktop)

4 - pune-i un nume mijto: "vai de capu' meu"

5 - deschide-l si vei observa ca iti apare data si ora.

6 - tocmai ai salvat un teanc de hartii :)

Distractie placuta cu noul tau "memo". Sper sa te ajute ideea :)

WTF? It was made with MY OWN PHOTOS! I can't possibly violate MY OWN copyright. Why was it blocked? Because in the credits I put a little "© my name" note? I can't possibly imagine it being anything else. But that's ridiculous. So I can't put a copyright notice ON MY OWN PHOTOS AND VIDEOS prior to uploading them to the internet? Well screw you photobucket.... that's why I have DIVSHARE! And ya know... methinks I'm going to get rid of my photobucket accounts (yes, more than one... one for 'personal' use and the other for 'business' re: my web site) and strictly use divshare instead. I have some major issues with photobucket and this is the last straw.

PS - Am I the only one having major problems with wordpress lately too? Every time I try to make a new post when I click publish or save I get a message saying it couldn't be completed and to try again, and I lose my posts and tags I've added etc. It takes me like 5 tries to get a post made, and when I do succeed I can't just straight up publish it, I have to get it to save as a draft first and then go into my 'manage drafts' menu and publish from there. It's getting to be a big pain in the butt. grrrrrr

[Helpful Sites/Tutorials]

Brusheezy → A very good brush site. I have a few others I can add but this one is at the top of my list. Almost every other day or week there are new brushes for the taking. These brushes are free and you don't have to sign up to download them.

Free Adobe Tutorials → This is like almost the only site you would have to use if you need tutorials. There are other good ones that I want to add but I have to find them. I will add them ASAP.

Wet Paint → A site for clans and groups [The good ones by the way. =)] You can design your own group to whatever you want it to be. You can start a clan and have allies and enemies and things of that nature. I myself have one on there. Feel free to check mine out.

Brush King → Almost like Brusheezy but its just alike in some ways, except Brusheezy has more brushes and even have other sites like Vecteezy and such. The brushes are free and you don't have to sign-up to download them.

Photobucket → Photo/video uploader. My favorite one so far.

Downloads dot com → Site where you can find programs and download them. Like Anti-virus, music player etc etc.

Tiny Pic → Tiny pic is a photo uploader but photobucket is better than this one cause people have a tendency of saving their photos to the temporary folder and they end up having to re-upload them to the actual one that doesn't delete their photos after a certain amount of time.

WordPress → The ultimate blogging site. This is thus far my favorite blogging site.

Planet Renders → A site where you can get renders. Basically it saves you from finding a picture and having to erase and delete the background and such [If they have the picture you want to use XD]. Plus it even have tutorials. Others sign up and find pictures to render and upload them to the site. Just click on the link for more info.

Dafont → Site where you can download fonts. It has a wide selection of fonts.

Flickr → A Yahoo site where you can upload photos that you've taken. Its mostly for photographers and things of that nature.

Share/Send → This site is where you can upload files from your computer and save them to the net and even share them. Its better than Rapid Share cause its totally free and you have more space to use if needed.

My Photoshop Brushes → Download Patterns, Styles, & Gradients. This site is good if you're tired of the same pat

GFX Fever → Download Fonts, Brushes, Patterns. The site even have tutorials and such. Really helpful site.

[Other Sites that I use]

Free Online Games → Play free games online. Thousands of games to choose from. Racing games, shooting games, flying games, puzzle games, RPG games and many more

Xbox → Get your gamertag here and info on Xbox live and other helpful information.

Guitar Hero → You can come here and check out the leader boards or get your stats uploaded on there.

Watch-Movies → This is a legit movie watching site. I go there and watch movies all the time. & They're FREE!

MyGen → You can go here and generate yourself a myspace layout. This one is my favorite one.  It also have other generators. To save your layouts and other things, you will have to sign-up. Its FREE!

The Sims Carnival → Yes, the Sims. I'm a kid at heart and these are self-made games and games from the website designer. Most are good and others are sub-par. But its a time killer.

RomNation.net → My favorite place to get ROMS to my favorite; Sega, NES, N64, Playstation games. They even have the emulators if you need one of those too.

MyGamerCard → Design yourself a Gamer Card here at My Gamer Card. Self generated, pre-made cards. You can put them in your forum sig, on your website etc.

Shockwave → Another site for games. This one I think everyone should know about. [Accept if you're a n00b]. ;)

Skunk Studios → Yes yes, this site has my favorite games. Qubeez and Sveers. I can go other places. But why not go to the actual site that made the game?

GameHouse → [I have a lot of these gaming sites listed don't I?] Yes, another one that is my favorite. Its odd I have a lot of these listed. Its probably cause certain sites take down some of the games and you'll have to find another site to play them. :(

Gamestop → I go here if I want to check out the newest games or need to find a game I want to buy and see if its available at the store.

GameTap → You can play games on here without having to download an Emulator. [Just have a good video card and enough space, ram memory, etc.] You can sign-up for a free account but the real gaming thats worth it is when you get the premium accounts. They'll give you the requirements and more info on the site.

The Game Informer → Another one of my favorite sites. This site is for people who can't afford to subscribe to the magazine. [Not saying that I can't cause I'm subscribed actually].

IsoHunt → This is a torrent harvester and its legit, legal and free. I don't go here often cause I usually buy my programs. But this is helpful for people who know how to use torrents.
