Michael & Janet Jackson - Scream (Classic Club Mix)

One in a million som det brukar sägas.

Except in this case, the dad is Michael Jackson and he wears a surgical mask, pajama pants, a pair of over-sized Nicole Richie sunglasses and a giant hooded sweatshirt. May the force be with Paris Michael, Prince Michael and Blanket.

The Czech Týden Burns is the ‘skotský romantický básník’ and in the Italian News IC he’s ‘poeta scozzese’. I think I like básník best, there’s a kind of rebel feel to that word for some reason but maybe I’m confusing it with beatnick.

What struck me most from all these articles is that they pretty much all carried a picture of Burns rather than a picture of Dylan. Maybe it’s just because the Burns pictures are cheaper, maybe they’re long out of copyright.

It was interesting to note though, that out of all these articles, only the Herald (and kind of the Times too) hinted at the fact that Burns didn’t write A Red Red Rose. Burns said himself that it was ‘a simple old Scots song which I had pickt up in this country’.

So Dylan wasn't really inspired by Burns but some peasant lass wandering around the fields in Ayrshire.

Burns was maybe (maybe) just the first to write it down and publish it. And that is the art of it. Your kid might be able to copy down the words of a song, or cover a piece of canvas in red paint. The art is actually doing it. And being the first. I think.

...hate to keep telling you to "buy it" but there happens to be a bunch of really good records coming out as of late. I'll feature many of them soon(Vivien Girls, Hercules and Love Affair, etc) but I just want to say, there is no safer bet this season than the new TV on the Radio album. After listening to it a lot I came away thinking these are the only guys of the last ten years who can creatively match a band like Radiohead - hell they took the Radiohead post rock sound and turned it into futuristic psychedelic funk. This is an fan-tastic record.

Golden Age by TV on the Radio - also note that they just played this song on Jools Holland and there is a video of that performance floating around the interwebs. Does this song remind anyone else of an old Michael Jackson dance song from back when he was still cool (and still black).

Today, I was suppose to go to a wedding, but I didn't. I stayed home and stayed in my room. When I did go downstairs I felt like I was invisible and that no one acknowledged my presence. I felt as if I was some ghost from the future watching on how it'll be if I wasn't there. I don't know why I felt like that, but I did.

Well since I heard the news about my Uncle, I've been keeping to myself and trying to keep myself busy. My Uncle hasn't came home yet. I did notice though how my grandmother went all out her way to make her son comfortable...even going to buy him a brand new bed-set from Rent-a-center, but she couldn't even help me pay for my 42" tv that had to go back? Bullshit.

I'm promising myself, the next time I move out, there will be no moving back this will be my last time . Today, I felt what it would feel like if I wasn't here. I'm fine with that. Sometimes I wish I wasn't in my own skin so I kind of knew what it felt like all along. I don't know what let me put up with their bullshit. I don't what made me keep coming back. Seeing that my siblings are getting better with their attitudes and they're maturing up a little bit at a time. I have no reason to be here and they have no reason for me to be either.

I'm up in my room half of the time, mind as well say I'm not here. Mind as well be invisible. Mind as well leave, its like I already left. Half the time they think I'm gone so I mind as well be.

Hello World!!!

I was looking on the internet last week and I found and article about Michael Jackson... I don't know how it is in other countries but from where I come from I have not heard anything about Michael for some time now...

Anyway it was about him celebrating his 50th birthday and 25 years from Thriller.

The thing is that when I think of Michael Jackson having 50 years it's kind of hard to imagine it for me... My father has 52 years and I sure can't imagine him dancing like Michael Jackson at his age. :)

The thing is that we like to remember artists as we knew them when we were little and danced to their music and as for us time goes by and we grow up and we change we see stars who are now as strong as they were 20 years ago... or even more 30 years ago in the case of MJ...

What did you do in 30 years? I can tell you that I am not on this earth for 30 years, I am even younger then the Thriller album :)

I look at Madonna she is like never going to get old or what? And if we think about other great artists like Elvis or Frank Sinatra which even today sell albums like they were in there best days, even though they left us for a long time...

People believe or like to believe in life after death, I don't know if this is true but in any case for people like these eternity is guaranteed in their music.

Coming back to the new MJ Album from 2008 I managed to find a song on youtube that is worth all the money and I invite you to watch it, as for him? Best of luck, he is the king of pop and even if he stays home until he dyes it wont be a problem for him because he is already at a level where only very very and I mean very few man have God's blessing to be!

If you have a problem with "Earth Song" by Michael Jackson, then this is the post for you. Essential.

And that wraps up the voting for this month. Until next time, don't do anything that I wouldn't do, you cheeky monkeys.

Disclaimer - This is an extremely self-indulgent feature and is a cynical attempt to recycle stuff that I have written in the past in the vain hope that someone will actually read them. Please feel free to slag off “Post From The Past” to your heart’s content.

And my wallet sings... Not my lover... OHH!

Michael Jackson is next in line to be immortalised in plastic! Erm... non-fans will probably read something else into that ^^" but anyway... Woo~ the joy, the joy! XD

Everything about this period where he was into shiny white sequined gloves and socks and doing the moonwalk feels very nostalgic. Gaaah... I seriously loved Michael Jackson then! Sigh~ He was like unbelievably a.w.e.s.o.m.e. up to Dangerous/HIStory. *squeals* and after that... SIGHs~ :-\

Okie, so this figure is expected to be released next year February at a damage of 18,858 (w/o tax). Pre-order available now. But since it is going to be produced by Hot Toys, we can expect additional parts like hands and such. From observation, Hot Toys are generally a lot more "generous" when it comes to accessories.

Some info: This collectible stands approximately 30 cm tall, features the authentic likeness of Michael Jackson - the legendary musician and Hollywood pop star in the 80's.

Michael Jackson collectible figure features:

Hot Toys' newly developed TrueType- "Slim version" body with over 38 points of articulation.

Trademarked single sequined white glove

Sequined black coat

White socks with black shoes

Black hat

Microphone

Microphone stand

Three sets of interchangeable hands

12 inches figure stand with Michael Jackson nameplate

See? See? Much more generous than Medicom for something along the same price range. *rant*

Licensed for sale in Japan and Hong Kong only. Whatever, we can still import him hah! xD

If I get my hands on this figure, he'll probably be my first male Hot Toys figure. The upcoming She-Predator - Machiko that I'm also rather interested in but yet to pre-order is also a Hot Toys product.

Yeah... Michael Jackson! HEEHEE~OOH!

My last couple of posts have been kind of wordy, so I think we all deserve a little break.

The following visual feast is an assortment of crap that kicks around my flat making me *sigh*smile*laughobnoxiously*

Enjoy.

My Oscar - a gift from my high school boyfriend. I suspect it was his subtle way of telling me I was a drama queen. Whatever.

Your eyes do not deceive you. This little gem was discovered while rummaging around a junk store - it may in fact be the only one of its kind. It was a find of a lifetime, celebrated with much hooting and hollering. It may even possess magical properties.

Yes, it's the Book On Tape of the brilliant bestselling book on astrophysics written by The One and Only Stephen W. Hawking (my personal hero) as read aloud by...Michael Jackson. Yes, indeedy. Michael Jackson. (Because Dr. Hawking is so awesome, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that this was approved by him at a time when MJ was still cool. And, you know...black. And, you know, ...possessed a nose.)

To tell the truth, I haven't actually had the nerve to listen to it yet. I'm not sure there is enough alcohol on the planet to make that possible. Well, and I'm sort of afraid the gates of hell may open if I ever do. So I may just put it in a nice shadowbox.

My leopard-skin pillbox hat. (Chill out, it's faux leopard-skin. I'm vegan, for cripes' sake.)

But, yeah. Bob Dylan actually wrote the song about me, you know, not Edie Sedgewick. Always stealing my thunder, that stupid wench.

(Oh, and the mask and Satanic-looking tiara in the background are not just props left over from a debaucherous night on the town. I actually wear them both on a very regular basis. I like to look pretty.)

BIG. ASS. SHELLS. Found here on the bee-yoo-tee-full South Shore.

Lava lamp night light. Every home should have one.

Understand Your Mother breath spray. Priceless. A gift from (who else) my mother.

It doesn't work for shit, by the way.

Gum, a gift from my, well, I was gonna say 'BFF' but Paris Hilton has ruined that term for me. But you get the idea.

"Don't Have Ugly Children Beauty Gum" and "Be Gone Evil Twin Gum."

My friend was really hoping that second one would work. It, like the "Understand Your Mother" breath spray, was disappointingly ineffective.

My books. This is only a very small portion of my current library. A very, very small portion. I'm not posting pics of the rest because I don't want to overwhelm you. Or scare you.

I'm seeking a support group. (But I don't expect it will work, either.)

My flavoured toothpaste collection. Because you just never know if it's gonna be a 'watermelon' kind of day or a 'citrus blast' kind of day...or maybe a snuggle-into-bed-tasting-like-'vanilla' kind of night.

Go ahead and laugh. You're just jealous.

And finally, something that is one of my favourite things (today it is, anyway - sometimes it is future cat stew) :

The Glorious, the Dignified, the Incomparable...*

PYEWACKETT THE MAGNIFICENT (Or...'RETARDED.' I get those words mixed up sometimes.)

*This is supposed to be a cat play tunnel, by the way. Wacky is such a fat-ass (it's hard to tell from the pic, but the tunnel is HUGE) that it's sort of more like his very own leopard-skin pillbox hat. Kinda stylin', really.

Have a nice day.
