"Is there anyone around Obama, any of his friends, or any of his "mentors" who are not radical, anti-American, Socialists or who are not involved with corruption? Are there any who actually love America and believe she is the greatest force for good in the World?"

It really isn't a secret to anyone who regularly reads this blog that I am a McCain / Palin supporter. Well, let's be honest. I'm more a Palin supporter but I do believe that McCain has a better record of wanting to the right thing by this country and given the opportunity to lead it, will do a much better job of getting us where we need to go.

My opinions against Obama is a gut instinct of mistrust. There's been alot said about his dealings with William Ayers and Sal Alisnki (spelling?) and Reverend White and his beliefs in social radicalism in his youth.

To me, people in college tend to explore different ideals or radical ways of thinking. That's part of the college experience. Generally one gets involved in clubs or societies and profess to different beliefs and that's all fine and good. It's part of the experience and hopefully causes one to grow into a independent thinker who can discern between the right way to go and the wrong.

Think that makes me hesitant on Obama is that with all that's been documented about his college years and associations, he is trying to shove it under the rug. Pretend that it didn't exist or is being blown out of proportion.

I would give him much more respect if he said, "... yep. I was involved in this or that. I associated with that person or the other person but you know what? I was a stupid kid who came to realize that I didn't agree with those ideals."

That's it. End of Story. End of potential smear campaigns.

Instead, he just tried to dumb us down into believing that he knew nothing of Ayer's past... heard nothing that Jeremiah Wright preached in 20 years of sitting in his church.. I mean, come on.

So there it is ...

Feel free to comment. As I've said before, I have no problems discussing anything about this election and I'm open to hearing anything an Obama supporter has to say.

A great piece in the DCExaminer by the author at PowerLine Blog....

This piece is great for those who try to brush off Barack Obama's associations as nothing and those who say there is no proof that Obama will be a radically left President.

I believe that Obama will govern from a SCARY left position. It is important in these final weeks that this type of information be distributed to all you know, especially those rational people leaning towards Obama....

Obama does have radical left leanings, but perhaps the most troublesome part of an Obama Presidency will be the current financial turmoil. As Mirengoff points out in a paragraph below, Obama will play on the fears and American's misplaced loss of faith in America and capitalism....and I believe Obama will use that opportunity to establish far left, Socialist/Marxist solutions to these and other problems. I believe he will be destructive and dangerous to our traditions, way of life, and economic system.

I have copied the entire piece below:

Guilty by Participation: Barack Obama’s radical associations and what they mean

Paul Mirengoff, Examiner Contributor 10/12/08

As the race for president heads into the homestretch, the McCain campaign finally seems willing to raise the matter of Barack Obama’s past radical associations. Obama’s links to the far left are easily established.

In fact, he has been closely associated with leaders of two of the vilest, most virulently anti-American forms of modern homegrown radicalism: the "black liberation theology" movement and the domestic terrorism movement of the 1960s.

For two decades, Obama regularly worshipped at Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s Trinity Church. Obama has described Wright as his spiritual mentor. Wright's sermons were filled with anti-American, racist raving. For example, he implored God to “damn America” and he charged the U.S. government with inventing the AIDS virus to kill black people.

Obama contends that he skipped church on the days Wright indulged in these sorts of rants. But there is no doubt that Obama knew what Wright was preaching. According to Wright, when Obama withdrew an invitation to attend the event at which Obama announced his candidacy for the presidency, he explained to the pastor, “you can get kind of rough in the sermons.” Indeed.

In his autobiography Obama writes that he was essentially a non-believer when he first met Wright, and that he was attracted to the reverend’s flock precisely by virtue of the pastor’s political and social ideas. In other words, Wright became Obama’s pastor because of, not despite, Wright’s ideology.

Leftist ideology also provided the glue in Obama's relationship with the 1960s era radical terrorist William Ayers, who participated in terrorist bombing attacks on the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol, and who said in 2001 that he wishes he had done more of this.

Obama has described Ayers as “a guy who lives in my neighborhood who’s a professor of English.” This is a stunningly dishonest claim. In fact, Ayers, a professor of education, worked hand-in-glove with Obama to promote a radical educational agenda.

Ayers believes that teachers should function as community organizers dedicated to provoking resistance to America’s “oppressive system.” Teacher education programs should serve as “sites of resistance” to the American system.

During the 1990s, Ayers enlisted Obama for this radical project. Ayers founded the Chicago Annenburg Challenge (CAC), an organization whose mandate was the “reformation” of Chicago's public schools. He then helped select Obama to be CAC’s first chairman.

In that role, Obama worked with Ayers to determine how to distribute tens of millions of dollars. As Stanley Kurtz has shown, Ayers formulated the policy that governed the distribution of funds while Obama headed the body that distributed the money in accordance with Ayers’ policy.

Much of it went to “community organizers” and other radical activists. Under Obama, CAC funded Ayers' teacher training programs -- the ones designed to promote "resistance" to an oppressive system.

Proposals from groups that focused on math/science achievement were turned down, while CAC disbursed money through various far-left community organizers, such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). ACORN members later became “foot soldiers” in Obama’s political campaigns.

Once Obama could no longer defend his initial claim that Ayers was just “a guy in the neighborhood,” his campaign fell back to claiming that Obama did not know of Ayers’ “history.” This claim is as laughable as Obama’s assertion that he didn’t know what his spiritual mentor was preaching.

Ayers is probably the nation’s most notorious 1960s era radical terrorist. His terrorism constitutes his claim to fame. It was consistently mentioned in Chicago newspaper stories about Ayers, and must have come up in conversations around town whenever Ayers’ name came up.

In any event, Ayers’ radicalism (though not his terrorism) was manifest in his educational philosophy, which Obama promoted. Obama’s collaboration with Ayers – guilt by participation – is further proof of his radicalism. It dovetails nicely with recently discovered evidence that during this period Obama was affiliated with the Democratic Socialists of America, a socialist party.

Obama clearly has no intention of implementing the crazed agenda of the Weather Underground or the black liberation theologians. But does his affinity for black liberation theology and Ayers’ non-violent but still extreme 1990s radicalism show him to be a man of the far left, as opposed to a garden variety liberal Democrat?

Perhaps not. Ayers and especially Wright were influential figures in the community where Obama hoped to advance his political career. It’s possible that Obama attached himself to these two figures for purely opportunistic reasons. In this scenario, Obama was deplorably cynical, but not necessarily radical.

Alternatively, Obama may have believed significant amounts of what his leftist associates espoused, only to cast it off over time. In this scenario, Wright and Ayers played Falstaff to Obama’s Prince Hal. But there are at least six reasons to fear that Obama will govern from the far left.

First, it’s all he really knows. Obama grew up in a left-wing household, attended elite left-wing dominated universities, and spent the remainder of his formative years as a community organizer alongside the likes of Wright and Ayers.

Second, it’s how he votes. In 2007, according to the National Journal, Obama’s voting record was the most liberal of any senator.

Third, it’s what he falls back on. Obama is scripted to be “post-partisan.” But when off-script he’s liable to blurt out that those who resist the leftist agenda bitterly “cling to guns or religion or antipathy to those who aren’t like them.” And when his wife said that, as an adult, she has never been proud of America, Obama defended her statement as applied to American politics. This is “god damn America” lite.

Fourth, it’s what his base wants. There really isn’t much distance between Reverend Wright and Bill Ayers and the “General Betray-Us” crowd.

Fifth, it’s what he can pretend the times demand. When economic hardship causes people lose their faith in free markets, all kinds of radical mischief becomes possible.

Sixth, with the Democrats almost certain to have substantial majorities in both houses of Congress, who would constrain a President Obama?

5. After money flowed from a table tennis company to Obama, Obama helped public money flow to the table tennis company

6. Obama helped keep the 'Bridge to Nowhere' alive

7. National Journal named Obama most liberal Senator in 2007

14. After her husband pulled ahead in the Democratic primary, Michelle Obama said that for the first time in her adult life, she was proud of her country

15. Michelle Obama's hospital salary jumped from $122k to $317k just after Barack took office, then Barack requested a $1M earmark for that hospital

16. Although Obama won the nomination, Hillary Clinton may have won the 2008 Democratic Primary popular vote

17. Barack Obama Couldn’t Pass a Routine Background Investigation

18. (bonus) Obama spent only four years as a full-time lawyer before entering politics, spending about 70% of his time on voting rights, civil rights and employment, generally as a junior associate.

19. (bonus) In late 2004, Obama said he wasn't experienced enough to be president:

"I am a believer in knowing what you're doing when you apply for a job.

And, I think that if I were to seriously consider running on a national ticket I would essentially have to start now before having served a day in the Senate. Now, there are some people who may be comfortable doing that, but I'm not one of those people."

20. (bonus) Obama's campaign has a massive fundraising advantage over McCain: as of 9/21/08, it was $454M for Obama versus $230M for McCain.

21. (bonus) As of 1996, the New Party and its parent organization the Democratic Socialists of America considered Barack Obama to be their guy--one of a handful of avowed socialists running for office at any level in the United States. More here.

22. (bonus) Sen. John McCain enjoys overwhelming support from the military’s professional core:

McCain, R-Ariz., handily defeated Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., 68 percent to 23 percent in a voluntary survey of 4,293 active-duty, National Guard and reserve subscribers and former subscribers to Army Times, Navy Times, Marine Corps Times and Air Force Times.

The first serious negative biography of Senator Barack Obama casts the Democratic nominee as a fake reformer and a real liberal.

The Case Against Barack Obama by National Review's David Freddoso, blasts Obama for failing to take on the Chicago machine, for listening to "radical advisors," and for backing "doctrinaire liberal" causes from teachers unions to abortion rights.

I found this article by Charles Krauthammer to be powerful and enlightening when it comes to trying to understand Barack Obama and his "associations". Personally I find Obama's "associations" very troubling and the spin the media has put on even questioning theses "associations" even more despicable. If voting goes the way the media and so called polling shows we will have our next president: Barack Obama. At least a few brave Americans can look back and think that they tried to warn Americans about Obama's lack of character. Charles Krauthammer is one of the brave Americans.

Many reading my words will not agree with me about Obama and "who he pals around with". I ask you to take your thought process down a few levels. Can you think of a family member, friend, co-worker who has been influenced to the negative by the company they keep? What were the results of those relationships?

Have you been negatively influenced by spending time with undesirable people? Or do you make the conscious effort to surround yourself with positive people who exhibit character on a daily basis? From what I am reading and I am hearing I believe that Obama does not have the character needed to be the President of the United States. One of my first clues what his comments about bitter, gun carrying Americans. It was what Obama said when he thought the average Americans were not around that gave me cause for alarm. Since then the case about his lack of character has been building with the media attempting to stifle the news in every way possible, including going after anyone who would question Obama's "associations".

Charles Krauthammer: Obama's Rezko-Ayers-Wright problem

12:00 AM CDT on Saturday, October 11, 2008

Charles Krauthammer is a Washington Post columnist.

Convicted felon Tony Rezko. Unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers. And the race-baiting Rev. Jeremiah Wright. It is hard to think of any presidential candidate before Barack Obama sporting associations with three more execrable characters. Yet let the McCain campaign raise the issue, and the mainstream media begin fulminating about dirty campaigning tinged with racism and McCarthyite guilt by association.

But associations are important. They provide a significant insight into character. They are particularly relevant in relation to a potential president as new, unknown, opaque and self-contained as Mr. Obama. With the economy overshadowing everything, it may be too late politically to be raising this issue. But that does not make it, as conventional wisdom holds, in any way illegitimate.

Mr. McCain has only himself to blame for the bad timing. He should months ago have begun challenging Mr. Obama's associations, before the economic meltdown allowed the Obama campaign (and the mainstream media, which is to say the same thing) to dismiss the charges as an act of desperation by the trailing candidate.

Mr. McCain had his chance back in April when the North Carolina Republican Party ran a gubernatorial campaign ad that included the linking of Mr. Obama with Jeremiah Wright. The ad was duly denounced by The New York Times and other deep thinkers as racist.

This was patently absurd. Racism is treating people differently and invidiously on the basis of race. Had any white presidential candidate had a close 20-year association with a white preacher overtly spreading race hatred from the pulpit, that candidate would have been not just universally denounced and deemed unfit for office but written out of polite society entirely.

Nonetheless, Mr. McCain joined the braying mob in denouncing that perfectly legitimate ad. In doing so, Mr. McCain unilaterally disarmed himself, rendering off-limits Mr. Obama's associations, an issue that even Hillary Clinton addressed more than once.

Mr. Obama's political career was launched with Mr. Ayers giving him a fundraiser in his living room. If a Republican candidate had launched his political career at the home of an abortion-clinic bomber - even a repentant one - he would not have been able to run for dogcatcher in Podunk. And Mr. Ayers shows no remorse. His only regret is that he "didn't do enough."

Why are these associations important? Do I think Mr. Obama is as corrupt as Mr. Rezko? Or shares Dr. Wright's angry racism or Mr. Ayers' unreconstructed 1960s radicalism?

No. But that does not make these associations irrelevant. They tell us two important things about Mr. Obama.

First, his cynicism and ruthlessness. He found these men useful and use them he did. Would you attend a church whose pastor was spreading racial animosity from the pulpit? Would you even shake hands with - let alone serve on two boards with - an unrepentant terrorist?

Mr. Obama did, if not out of conviction then out of expediency. He was a young man on the make, an unknown outsider working his way into Chicago politics. He played the game with everyone, without qualms and with obvious success.

Mr. Obama is not the first politician to rise through a corrupt political machine. But he is one of the rare few to then have the audacity to present himself as a transcendent healer, hovering above and bringing redemption to the "old politics" - of the kind he had enthusiastically embraced in Chicago in the service of his own ambition.

Second, and even more disturbing than the cynicism, is the window these associations give on Mr. Obama's core beliefs. He doesn't share Dr. Wright's poisonous views of race nor Mr. Ayers' views, past and present, about the evil that is American society. But Mr. Obama clearly did not consider these views beyond the pale. For many years he swam easily and without protest in that fetid pond.

Do you remember how, in the 2008 elections, G.W.'s win was accredited to the great number of Christians who came out and voted for him?

This election is going to be the same. However, not only is it the Christians that have to come out on election day, it has to be all the others leaning toward McCain coming out to vote. Forget this "Dewey" has won atmosphere that Obama has going for him. We all know from our history books that "Dewey" didn't win. We need to all vote, no matter how defeatist the media makes it seem.

Barack Obama and ACORN has made this a must. There are too many fraudulent votes that are going to be counted in favor of Obama. If the real voters do not come out, then we are handing the Presidency to Obama.

All Acorn registrations should be thrown out. And here's another good reason to get you fired up for McCain:

“On December 4, 2006, Governor Sarah Palin made history as the first woman to become her stat

"On December 4, 2006, Governor Sarah Palin made history as the first woman to become her state's chief executive. As the 11th governor of Alaska, she has successfully fought the special interests, the lobbyists, the Big Oil companies and the good ol' boys network to reform a system that had bred corruption in her state.

Since taking office, her top priorities have been energy development, ethics reform, education and workforce development, public health and safety, and transportation and infrastructure development. She has brought Republicans, Democrats and Independents together to work to change the status quo in Alaska.

Under her leadership, the state invested $5 billion in savings, overhauled education funding, and implemented the Senior Benefits Program to provide support for low-income older Alaskans. She created Alaska’s Petroleum Systems Integrity Office to oversee and maintain oil and gas equipment, facilities and infrastructure, and the Climate Change Subcabinet to prepare a climate change strategy for Alaska.

During her first legislative session, Governor Palin’s administration passed major pieces of legislation. She came to office promising landmark ethics reform to end the culture of self-dealing, and today, that ethics reform is the law.

Governor Palin took on the oil companies and began a competitive process to construct a gas pipeline. Because of her leadership, work has begun on a $40 billion natural gas pipeline – the largest private-sector infrastructure project in North American history – to help lead our country to energy independence.

When oil and gas prices went up dramatically and the state revenues rose, Governor Palin sent a large share of that revenue directly back to the people of Alaska. She also suspended the state's fuel tax.

In office, Governor Palin championed reform to end the abuses of earmark spending. She has used her veto pen to eliminate nearly a half a billion dollars in wasteful spending. She told the Congress "thanks, but no thanks," for the "Bridge to Nowhere." Upon taking office, Governor Palin took common-sense steps to trim the size and cost of her office. She sold the state's luxury jet, eliminated the personal chef and got rid of the personal driver.

As Governor, Palin is chair of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, a multi-state government agency that promotes the conservation and efficient recovery of domestic oil and natural gas resources while protecting health, safety and the environment. She also serves as chair of the National Governors Association (NGA) Natural Resources Committee, which is charged with pursuing legislation to ensure state needs are considered as federal policy is formulated in the areas of agriculture, energy, environmental protection and natural resource management.

Prior to her election as governor, Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council and two terms as the Mayor of Wasilla. During her tenure, she reduced property tax levels while increasing services and made Wasilla a business friendly environment, drawing in new industry. She stopped wasteful spending and put the people first." - www.johnmccain.com

Much fuss is being raised among Senator Obama’s supporters, both in the mass media and at larg

Much fuss is being raised among Senator Obama's supporters, both in the mass media and at large, regarding angry comments made at a few of Senator McCain's recent political rallies by a few of his more vocal supporters. Their mantra is a chorus of one resounding word: racism.

That word "racism" means different things to different people, but Webster's dictionary defines it as one of two general things: 1) a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race, or 2) racial prejudice or discrimination. My guess is that definition two, especially the part about discrimination, best fits the word as it's being used in this case. In layman's terms, the only reason you don't want Barack Obama to be president is because he's "black" and you're not, and anything else you might claim is just a cover story.

Whether that's strictly true of these particular protesters or not, one thing we can be sure of is that they are angry. That means that they're afraid of something, and since the anger seems to be directed at Senator Obama (much like the anger of the other side has been directed at President Bush for the past eight years), it's probably accurate to say that they're afraid of Senator Obama. If they're like Senator Obama's description of "typical white people," then it's certainly true that they fear what might happen if a "black" man becomes president. I expect that's true of some percentage of them, but what I expect is true of most of them is that they are afraid of the future, specifically of a future in which Obama is President along with a Democratic Party majority, possibly a fillibuster-proof majority, in the Congress.

So, what's so scary about the Democratic Party? That's a subject for a book (and there are plenty of them on the market already), but I think I can summarize by saying that it's about "change" from a capitalist to a socialist economic system and further loss of our national identity through immersion into a socialist (or at least socialistic) world government. The pendulum has been swinging from right to left and back again for a long time, at least since the Great Depression, though its roots go farther back by decades. Globalism has been creeping up on us since World War I. Some people like socialism and globalism, some don't, and those who don't are usually frightened by them for one reason or another.

What's so scary about Barack Obama? That's the more interesting question for me. I don't believe that it's a case of racial discrimination, though it might be that simple for some. It has more to do with people either not knowing who Barack Obama is, and therefore not knowing what to expect from an Obama presidency, or from knowing all about him and basing upon that knowledge a powerful suspicion that this guy might very well be dangerous if given enough power.

Now, I'm not a psychologist, just a voter who's been around a while and thinks he knows a thing or two about people and about what drives them to do what they do. So, I'll spare you my opinion from here until the end of the post and simply present you with facts as reported by Barack Obama himself, from his family and friends, and from others who have researched his life. You can come to your own conclusions and decide for yourself whether he's potentially dangerous or not.

Born 8/4/1961 in Honolulu, HI (that makes him a Leo for all you astrology fans out there) and named Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. The name "Barack" is a Swahili version of the Arab word for "blessing," similar to the Hebrew name "Baruch." The Arabic name "Hussein" means "good; small handsome one." The maternal side of his family with whom he grew up called him "Barry" or "Bar" until he insisted that they call him by his full name, Barack, around the time he first went off to college in Los Angeles (1979).

His mother, Stanley Ann Dunham (who preferred to be called "Ann"), was 3 months pregnant with him when she married his father, Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a fellow student at the University of Hawaii. Unbeknownst to Ann, Barack Sr already had a wife and child back in Kenya, though there is some question as to the legality of that marriage. The family lived together in Honolulu until Obama Sr. left (some might say "abandoned") them when Junior was 2 years old to study at Harvard University near Boston, then he returned to Kenya in 1965. Senior flew in from Kenya for a brief visit with the family in Honolulu in 1972. Junior was 11 years old then, and that was the last time he ever saw his biological father, who died in an automobile accident in Kenya ten years later.

[caption id="attachment_243" align="alignright" width="300" caption="Lolo, Ann, Maya, and Barry"][/caption]

After the divorce, Ann remarried in 1968 to an Indonesian man, also a fellow student, named Lolo Soetoro. Lolo moved the family to Jakarta in Indonesia, where he got a job with Mobil Oil. Lolo is said to have been a kind man at first, but he later became a heavy drinker and womanizer (according to family members in Indonesia). There weren't many people with African ancestry living in Jakarta at that time, and Barack is said to have had few friends and, contrary to his own report, to have had trouble with the Indonesian language. He attended a catholic school for two years, then the family moved to a wealthier neighborhood and he attended a state-run predominantly Muslim school until his mother sent him back to Hawaii to live with his maternal grandparents in 1971 at age 10. His half-sister, Maya, was born in 1970.

Beginning the 5th grade In Hawaii, Barack attended a private school called Punahou, which was an elite prep school that he'd gotten into on a scholarship with his grandparents' help. Once again, he was one of the few students with African ancestry. He attended Punahou through the 12th grade, and it was there that he began experimenting with drugs, mostly marijuana and alcohol, but also cocaine. Through his love of basketball, which he was good but not great at, he began associating with more "black" men when he would participate in pickup games on public courts.

Ann left Lolo Soetoro and moved back to Hawaii with Maya in 1972. Barack lived with them in a Honolulu apartment until 1975, when Ann and Maya returned to Indonesia. Barack chose to stay in Honolulu with his grandparents. At some point during his years in Hawaii, there was some contact with a man named Frank Marshall Davis, an acquaintance of his grandfather's, who apparently acted as a surrogate father figure for some time. Davis was investigated during the 1950's for communist associations, but by the time Barack came to know him, he was a semi-retired writer and poet who was especially concerned with civil rights. Whether his grandfather was aware of Davis' past before setting him up with young Barack is unknown. Coincidentally, 1972 is also the year Reverend Jeremiah Wright became the pastor at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago and the year that William Ayres and the Weather Underground organization tried to bomb the Pentagon.

In 1979, Barack graduated from Punahou and moved to Los Angeles to attend Occidental College, a liberal arts school that brags of having "more low-income students than any other top 50 liberal arts college." His mother divorced Lolo Soetoro in 1980.

Barack finished at Occidental and moved to New York in August 1981, transferring to Columbia University. He says this is the time period during which he stopped "getting high." It was probably also around this time that he began seriously trying to resolve his "identity crisis" by immersing himself more and more in the African American sub-culture. He majored in political science and international relations at Columbia and wrote his thesis on Soviet nuclear disarmament. He graduated from Columbia in 1983, then worked for a year in New York as a researcher and writer for a reference service called Financing Foreign Operations and for a newsletter called Business International Money Report. In 1984, he was hired by the New York Public Interest Research Group, a nonprofit organization that promotes consumer, environmental and government reform. He soon after became a full-time "organizer" at City College in Harlem. Coincidentally, William Ayres, having emerged from ten years in hiding, attended Bank Street College in Manhattan (located about a quarter mile from Columbia U), from 1982 to 1984, then attended Columbia until 1987.

In 1985, "drawn... by the recent election of Harold Washington as the city’s first black mayor," Barack moved to Chicago. There, he met a man named Gerald Kellman who hired him as Director of the Developing Communities Project for a starting salary of $10,000 a year, plus $2,000 to buy a car. The DCP was an arm of The Calumet Community Religious Conference (CCRC), and Barack's primary task appears to have been organizing local churches in pursuit of community political activism. It was during these three years working for Kellman that young Barack was influenced by the thinking of Saul Alinsky, a Chicago native regarded as the "father of community organizing." At the heart of the Alinsky method is the concept of "agitation"-- making someone angry enough about the rotten state of his life that he agrees to take action to change it; or, as Alinsky himself described the job, to "rub raw the sores of discontent." Barack also worked as a consultant and instructor for the Gamaliel Foundation. Incidentally, a woman named Jean Rudd, who worked at the Woods Fund--a Chicago foundation that gives grants for community organizing--provided Kellman with his original $25,000 to hire Obama.

The church pastors Barack was trying to enlist to his cause at that time had a couple of problems with him. First, they knew that he was working for Kellman, whom they viewed with suspicion. Second, they let him know that they didn't trust him as much they might if he were a regular attendee of a local church - any local church. This was when he looked around and finally selected Trinity United Church of Christ and the man who would be his mentor (and probably another surrogate father figure) for the following 20 years, Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

In the summer of 1988, before he started law school at Harvard University near Boston, Obama spent a month visiting his paternal relatives in Kenya. There is some controversy regarding why, after building a respectable career in community organizing in Chicago, Obama would suddenly decide to drop all of that to apply for a loan and go through the process of applying to attend Harvard (which is a notoriously expensive school and very difficult to get into). According to some some sources, Obama's grades at Columbia were not all that terrific, which makes his sudden entry into the Ivy League all the more mysterious. That mystery is compounded by the fact that in 1990, during only his second year at Harvard, Obama was elected the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. There is some so far unproven controversy surrounding Obama's admission to Harvard with regard to financial sponsorship by a man named Khalid Al-Mansour, a Black Muslim and Black Nationalist who was a “mentor” to the founders of the Black Panthers in the early 1960s.

After graduation in 1991, Barack was granted a fellowship at Harvard, and it was during this period that he began work on his memoir titled Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance (though it wasn't actually published until 1995). He taught three courses and was eventually named senior lecturer, a title otherwise carried only by a few federal judges. Those courses concerned the due process and equal protection areas of constitutional law, voting rights (traced the evolution of election law, from the disenfranchisement of blacks to contemporary debates over districting and campaign finance), and one on racism and law for which he improvised his own textbook, including classic cases like Brown v. Board of Education, and essays by Frederick Douglass, W. E. B. Dubois, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X.

[caption id="attachment_250" align="alignleft" width="300" caption="Carol Moseley-Braun"][/caption]

After returning to Chicago in 1991, he served on the boards of both the Woods Fund and the Joyce Foundation, which also gave grants to Alinsky-style groups, and continued to teach organizing workshops. In 1992, Obama became the Executive Director of Project Vote, an organization focused on registering minority voters. Obama registered about 100,000 new voters, primarily in the African-American community, that helped Carol Moseley Braun become the first black woman ever elected to the U.S. Senate. In October, he married Michelle Robinson, whom he'd met in 1989 while working over the summer with the law firm of Sidley Austin. The ceremony was performed by Reverend Wright at Trinity United. From 1992 until his election to the U.S. Senate in 2004, Obama served as a professor at University of Chicago Law School. He was a Lecturer from 1992 to 1996 and a Senior Lecturer from 1996 to 2004, during which time he taught three courses per year.

[caption id="attachment_265" align="alignright" width="200" caption="William Ayers"][/caption]

In 1993, Obama took a job with a Chicago law firm called Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland that specialized in civil rights litigation and neighborhood economic development, where he was an associate until 1996, then served as counsel until 2004 with his law license becoming inactive in 2002. 1993 was also the year that Obama was named to the Board of Directors of the Woods Fund, where he coincidentally served alongside the resurgent William Ayers.

1995 was a particularly important year in Obama's life, during which his first book was finally published and his mother sadly died of cancer at age 52. He was named to the Board of Directors for the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (until 1999) where he also, coincidentally, served with William Ayers. This was also the year in which Obama became associated with ACORN.

Obama's political career began in earnest in 1996 with his election to the Illinois State Senate, and his history is well documented from that point forward. Now, only 12 years later, he has risen from a junior state senator through the U.S. Senate to being the leading contender to be the next President of the United States.

So there you have it. Abandoned, largely isolated, and possibly abused by a drunken stepfather as a child. Raised by a midwestern "white" mother and her parents, then self-immersed in radical leftist and race-oriented cultures while trying to "find himself" as a young multi-racial student, activist, teacher, and lawyer. Associations with known terrorists who possibly assisted him in clandestine ways for unknown reasons throughout the years of his early professional career until he ascended to the political arena, where his success and rise to greater levels of influence has been unprecedented. Whatever his intentions regarding what he will do once he gets there, Obama is clearly driven to achieve the pinnacle of success and to prove something not only to himself and to his family both here and in the afterlife, but to the nation and to the world.

Speaking for myself, none of that makes him necessarily a bad guy. In fact, I find him a fascinating person and can't help but to admire his ambition, style, and intellect, even his idealism. That doesn't mean that I want him as President of the United States. Whether or not you believe that there's some sinister leftist conspiracy behind his astounding rise from obscurity to the presidential election, you probably will agree that there are some people you just don't want to make the mistake of giving too much power to. That judgment has nothing to do with complexion; it's about what goes on behind that person's eyes as evidenced by a history of choices and actions. It's not based on the color of a man's skin, but on the content of his character.

"John McCain has a remarkable record of leadership and experience that embodies his unwavering lifetime commitment to service. First elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Arizona in 1982, John has led the fight for reforming Washington, eliminating wasteful government spending, and strengthening our nation's armed forces.

As the son and grandson of distinguished Navy admirals, John McCain deeply values duty, honor and service of country. John attended college at the United States Naval Academy, and launched a 22-year career as a naval aviator upon his graduation. He continued the McCain tradition of service to country passed down to him from his father and grandfather when he asked to serve in the Vietnam War.On July 29 1967, John narrowly survived the first of many near-death experiences during his lifetime while preparing to take off on a bombing mission over North Vietnam from his ship, the USS Forrestal. A missile accidentally fired from a nearby plane struck the fuel tanks on John's plane and created a deadly inferno aboard the ship. John barely escaped the fiery disaster that killed 134 men, injured hundreds more and destroyed 20 planes.

Instead of taking the option to return home after the Forrestal disaster, Senator McCain volunteered for more combat duty - a fateful decision that stopped the clock on his life and separated him from his family, and country, for five and a half years.

During his 23rd bombing mission on October 26, 1967, a missile struck John's plane and forced him to eject, knocking him unconscious and breaking both his arms and his leg. John was then taken as a prisoner of war into the now infamous "Hanoi Hilton," where he was denied necessary medical treatment and often beaten by the North Vietnamese. John spent much of his time as a prisoner of war in solitary confinement, aided by his faith and the friendships of his fellow POWs. When he was finally released and able to return home years later, John continued his service by regaining his naval flight status.

Senator McCain's last Navy duty assignment was to serve as the naval liaison to the United States Senate. John retired from the Navy in 1981. His naval honors include the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Legion of Merit, Purple Heart, and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Senator McCain has seven children and four grandchildren, and currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Cindy. " - www.JohnMcCain.com

[caption id="attachment_170" align="aligncenter" width="235" caption="The Party's Over"][/caption]

I suppose politics does make for strange bedfellows. For twenty years Barack Obama found nothing wrong with the preaching of Rev. Jeremiah Wright however when he began his Presidential run things began to sour. One must think that Obama did more dozing at church than listening to what his former friend and minister was saying. Here are some quotes from Rev. Wright and my comments will be in bold.

“We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye.” REYNOLDS: I see nothing wrong with this statement other than it is the truth. Hiroshima was a necessary evil to end a horrendous war. Back then America knew the price for winning a war. Islam still has that type of reasoning today and they also never bat an eye.

“We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America’s chickens are coming home to roost.” (Sep 2001) REYNOLDS: "Whatever a man reaps that he will also sow" Gal. 6:7. Perhaps the so called racial element is brought forth because Rev. Wright identified South Africans as being "black". Remember that we also supported the Taliban in their war against Russia in Afghanistan.

“The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ‘God Bless America.’ No, no, no, God damn America, that’s in the Bible for killing innocent people. God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.” (2003) REYNOLDS: I take great exception to what Rev. Wright has said here. If he doesn't appreciate what he has here in America let him preach in another nation and discern if he still has the right to say the things he does in another country? He should be ashamed about his "God damn America" quotes.

“In the 21st century, white America got a wake-up call after 9/11/01. White America and the western world came to realize that people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just ‘disappeared’ as the Great White West kept on its merry way of ignoring black concerns.” (magazine article) REYNOLDS: That is a racial statement. That is what Obama must have heard somewhere along the way in attending Wright's church. He did not leave after a statement like that but only when it became inconvienant in running for President for these views to become known.

“Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run!…We [in the U.S.] believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God.” (sermon) REYNOLDS: Blacks sold their own into slavery in Africa as they came to the United States. Yet I am not proud as to how America has treated racism over the years. Words like Rev. Wright's though will not heal but widen the division. It also whips up racial hatred instead of his becoming a repairer of the breach (Isaiah 12).

“Barack knows what it means living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people. Hillary would never know that. Hillary ain’t never been called a nigger. Hillary has never had a people defined as a non-person.” REYNOLDS: The "N" word is used by blacks against blacks continually. I'm sure Hillary has been called names that were unflattery to her but fanning this kind of hatred does not make it go away either. Instead, "Its flames are flames of fire, a most vehement flame" Song of Sol. 8:6. For those blacks that make it in society, when they move away, they are also cursed by the lower income blacks. Racism should never be preached from the pulpit and it is more than obvious that Obama knew how his pastor felt for all those years he sat under his teachings. Why he didn't leave after that statement is anyone's guess but I suppose that he wasn't running for the highest office in the land then so the personal stakes were not that high.

“Hillary is married to Bill, and Bill has been good to us. No he ain’t! Bill did us, just like he did Monica Lewinsky. He was riding dirty.” (sermon) REYNOLDS: Yes, Bill Clinton ran to the beat of his own drum. However Clinton wouldn't have such good standing with black America if he always did what was not right for their interests.

“The Israelis have illegally occupied Palestinian territories for over 40 years now. Divestment has now hit the table again as a strategy to wake the business community and wake up Americans concerning the injustice and the racism under which the Palestinians have lived because of Zionism.” REYNOLDS: Read your Bible, Rev. Wright because you are WRONG! Israel's territory spanned almost the entire mideast in the early days of the history of Israel and ever since they have been pushed further and further back. The Palistinian's never had a territory to begin with and if Islam really cared for this people they would insert them into better regions of almost any Islamic nation instead of the worthless tract of land they now find themselves on. Without Israel's financial support the Palistinian's would starve to death, not to mention that of the United States. If Obama didn't leave under a statement like that, why would he leave now?

Barack Obama stood pat for twenty years of this type of preaching and it was only when Wright's racism came under fire that he opted to leave. Then he tried to justify it by saying that it wasn't always like that, but it was, only then your interests weren't challenged. Stand up to the truth, Mr. Obama!

By the way, had Mike Huckabee been the Republican candidate for President I would also have challenged his pastor, Kenneth Copeland, for his views as well. His doctrine is even more error prone than that of Wright's.

Anybody who has been on the internet blogs for even a few weeks, or even a few days, knows that the moment there is a criticism of Senator Barack Obama, the attacks and the abuse is sure to come, usually in the form of being called a racist. It is a tactic and a strategy, standard operating procedure. One is not allowed to criticize Senator Obama.

Now, I see Representative John Lewis and John Rich, Maureen Dowd, the AP, the New York Times - and I'm sure CNN and MSNBC, though I haven't checked in with them yet this morning - are carrying the water for Obama to try to make this into the 60's. Just now I see Mr. Axelrod on Fox whipping it up further, and Bill Burton has defended Lewis' recent statements, both of them at the top of the list of Mr. Obama's campaign advisers.

Rep.

In a statement issued Saturday, Lewis said McCain and running mate Sarah Palin were "sowing the seeds of hatred and division, and there is no need for this hostility in our political discourse."

Oh, yeah, play that race card.

Of course, McCain named Representative Lewis as one of the three wise people he admired when he was asked in the Saddleback Forum. Is that the "hate and division" he is talking about? But I think McCain was wrong about that wise part.

But first of all, this is not the 60's and Barack Obama isn't even black. He is equally as white as he is black. If you read any of the posts I made or any number of others who have written about Obama's connection with Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, it is pretty obvious there is a connection. But where is the racism? Last time I looked, Ayers and Dohrn are white, but still pretty much with the same opinion about America as they had back then, just managing not to set off any bombs. And, yes, he was pal-ing around with them.

Secondly, people are getting mad and frustrated. But mostly they are mad about the bailout (95% were and are against it) and the extreme bias of the media who has for the most part been an arm of the Obama campaign. So Obama can't be criticized. If he is, the big guns are brought out. But most of us have become immuned to it by now, but it is truly beyond the pale to attack McCain and the McCain campaign.

But just try to notice who it is who is really "sowing the seeds of hatred and division." Who is it who is really fanning the flames? Who but the MSM loves to make race an issue more than life itself? Whose pastor was it who screamed anti-American and racist speech? The fondest desire of the media and some aging civil rights figures would be that they could bring back the 60's. After all, that was their day of glory.

Barack Obama has been treated with kid gloves. If anyone should be reeling from insults it should be Sarah Palin. As Kinky Friedman said recently, "She has been mocked more than anyone since Jesus Christ." But did the media defend her and call for the Obama supporters to lay off her? No, they jumped right in. Did anybody step up and blame Obama for everything that was said and demand that he make them all stop? Not hardly. Did you hear David Gergen say, in his carefully modulated tone, that what was being said about Palin was "incendiary:" Nah.

Take a look at this if you want to see an example of incendiary. http://michellemalkin.com/2008/10/12/crush-the-obamedia-narrative-look-whos-gripped-by-insane-rage/

Things are beginning to come out about Obama's ties to Ayers and Dohrn, about his buddies in Fannie and Freddie who were or are his financial advisers, his being the #2 recipient of Fannie and Freddie campaign contributions, his ties to ACORN and the voter fraud they are engaged in. It's getting hot in the kitchen. So it's time to ratchet up their last, best hope to shut it down - the cry of racism.

And who is surprised?

See this video of Senator Obama and his remarks concerning ACORN and "community organizers" in 2007.

http://sarah-palin-2008.blogspot.com/2008/10/obama-says-acorn-and-other-community.html

But to inject a little humor into the situation, back in August Jon Stewart nailed it on the use of "the race card," and I think it is appropriate now: "Run, America, the giant black balls of Obama are upon us."

My take on Palin and her comments

I’m not American so my judgement may be biased, but ever since ‘Wrightgate’ came to light I believe that John McCain and Hillary Clinton made a huge mistake in not attacking Obama over it. I believe that anyone who is willing to tolerate repeated rants about America's responsibility for September 11th, is not someone who is prepared to make the tough foreign policy decisions that America (and the rest of the Western world) must make in the next four year. From a strategic perspective there is clear evidence that such a line of attack would have resonated with voters, especially ‘Reagan Democrats’ in Pennsylvania and Michigan.

As the pollster Stan Greenberg put it, ‘The Reagan Democrats’ recollection of the 1960s is not of the race riots and busing but much more of the Vietnam War, the hippies and protestors, and humiliation of America and our soldiers. These are strong-defense Democrats who give Obama remarkably low marks on national security and have great trouble dismissing what Reverend Wright said about America’. Clearly, dealt sensitively, in an issue focused way by someone who had good national security credentials (such as Joe Lieberman or Rudy Giuliani) this attack could have been extremely effective and was perfectly legitimate.

However, as a last ditch measure and from the mouth of Sarah Palin, the issue can only be counterproductive. Trying to claim that Obama’s tenuous links with Ayers equates to him ‘palling around with terrorists’ skirts the line between hyperbole and race-baiting. Coming from someone who has far more sinister associations (Murthee, Chryson etc) it is also deeply hypocritical. The fact that it seems to have boosted McCain’s poll numbers (for the time being) indicates how effective such an attack would have been had it been put in its proper context and handled appropriately. However, the resulting hate and vitrol her rants have produced, should force even the amoral Steve Schmidt to conclude it is not a price worth paying.

The AP is reporting that Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia Democrat, says John McCain is 'sowing seeds of hatred' reminiscent of Gov. George Wallace during the 1960's. That's a blatant lie.

I was in Alabama during those years and lived the Wallace experience. The McCain campaign reflects nothing, I repeat, nothing even remotely similar to the white supremacist politics of George Wallace or, by the way, J. B. Stoner, a Klan member who ran on a White Supremacist platform. Lewis is WAY off base if he thinks he's the only one around who knows anything about that place and time. I'll take him to task any day of the week to talk Alabama in the 60's.

Meanwhile, Lewis has joined with others to wag a sternly-warning finger at McCain and Palin for remarks concerning Obama's personal relationship with Bill Ayers. Those remarks include nothing, I repeat, nothing that is not factually correct. Bill and Bernardine Dohrn Ayers are, in fact, unrepentant domestic terrorists. Obama did, in fact, attend 'get to know your candidate' functions in the Ayers home during his run for the Illinois Senate as Dohrn took him under her wing to introduce him to the 'neighborhood'. And, during this year's primary campaign, Obama did, in fact, say that he and the Ayers 'grill steaks together'. Sarah Palin has rightly stated that Obama 'pals around' with domestic terrorists.

Lewis' remarks include the following regarding McCain and Palin: "They are playing a very dangerous game that disregards the value of the political process and cheapens our entire democracy. We can do better. The American people deserve better." To that, I say this: What is there about the factual disclosure of Obama's relationship with the Ayers that devalues the political process or somehow 'cheapens' our democracy? The truth is what it is. Lewis doesn't like it. Obama supporters don't like it. Nevertheless, the facts remain and those cannot be changed. Lewis wants us to 'do better' by ignoring those. He thinks we 'deserve better'. What 'better' can be handed the voting populace than accurate disclosure of the radical influences surrounding a candidate for national public office? Add Wright, Pfleger, Rezko, and mouthpieces from Muslim organizations named as unindicted co-conspirators in Federal terrorism trials to the list and tell me who's got Lewis' 'dangerous game' going. Hint: It isn't John McCain.

Three major headlines are needed here because of the gravity of each.

First, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan tells a black audience seen in a video that "young people" would be drawn to "Messiah," and then says Obama is the Christ.

If this doesn't shock you, then I believe you are definately a bona-fide Obamabot Kool-Aid drinker drunk hopelessly on the idea of hope.

Keep in mind that the antisemitic Farrakhan is also anti-white and says whites have "not evolved" yet. You may want to also keep in mind that Barack Obama's mentor and spiritual advisor for two decades said when E F Hutton talks, people listen when Louis Farrakhan speaks, back people listen. Finally, you may want to know that Obama's former church, Trinity United Church of Christ, gave Farrakhan an award where Rev. Wright heaped praise on Farrakhan saying "when Minister Louis Farrakhan speaks, America listens…For his commitment to truth, education and leadership, we honor Minister Louis Farrakhan with the Rev. Jeremiah W. Wright Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award,” Wright went on to say in the article found in the churches' "Trumpet' magazine, “His depth on analysis [sic] when it comes to the racial ills of this nation is astounding and eye-opening. He brings a perspective that is helpful and honest.”

So the questions become, does Rev. Wright believe this? What is Barack Obama's interesting thoughts about this huge issue? Will Obama finally condemn Farrakhan, or just his misguided evaluation on who the "Messiah" is? Will McCain ask Obama about the comment? I wait with bated breath for the answers to these questions...

All this comes after revelations of anti-American and racist, hateful rhetoric coming from the microphones at Obama's previous cult church, Trinity United Church of Christ, through Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Otis Moss and Father Michael Pfleger. And don't get me started on convicted felon Tony Rezco, domestic terrorists William Ayers and fellow Weather Underground convicted terrorist, Bernadine Dorhn, Rashid Khaldi, a co-founder of the Arab American Action Network (AAAN) of which both Ayers and Obama had teamed up three years ago on the board of the Woods Fund, a Chicago charitable organization, to give $75,000 to (Khalidi is a longtime supporter of Palestinian “resistance” attacks against Israel and openly regards Israel as a racist, apartheid state), Ali Abunimah, who is one of the founders of the anti-Semitic ISM Arab group Al Awda, the Palestine Right of Return Coalition (the group calls for the complete destruction of Israel, supports Arab terrorists in Iraq who kill US soldiers, and urges boycotts against Israelis and American Jews and their businesses), Hatem El-Hady, who is the former chairman of the Toledo-based Islamic charity Kindhearts which was closed by the US government in 2006 for terrorist fundraising (the organization raised money for HAMAS in Lebanon and the West Bank), Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who is Barack Obama’s blood cousin that he campaigned for in Kenya (there are rumors of a secret pact between Raila Odinga and radical Kenyan Muslims in the ethnic killings of Christians. Three hundred thousand people were displaced and 1,200 died after Raila Odinga declared the election was rigged when he lost) and Alexi Giannoulias—a "man who has long been dogged by charges that the bank his family owns helped finance a Chicago crime figure" and "who became Illinois state treasurer" in 2006 after Sen. Barack Obama(D-Ill.) "vouched for him"—"pledged to raise $100,000 for the senator's Oval Office bid," reported Charles Hurt on Sept. 5, 2007, in the New York Post. Lynn Sweet of the Chicago Sun-Times reported, "Before he promised to raise funds for Obama, Giannoulias bankrolled Michael 'Jaws' Giorango, a Chicagoan twice convicted of bookmaking and promoting prostitution...Giannoulias is so tainted by reputed mob links that several top Illinois Dems, including the state's speaker of the House and party chairman, refused to endorse him even after he won the Democratic nomination with Obama's help."

Turning to the second headline, Civil Rights icon Democratic Rep. John Lewis of Georgia invoked segregationist Gov. George Wallace of Alabama in an outrageous, vicious, personal attack against American hero, maverick Sen. John McCain, and his running mate, popular Alaskan Gov. Sarah "Barracuda" Palin.

"What I am seeing reminds me of too much of another destructive period in American history," Lewis said. "Senator McCain and Governor Palin are sowing the seeds of hatred and division, and there is no need for this hostility in our political discourse."

"George Wallace never threw a bomb. He never fired a gun, but he created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans who were simply trying to exercise their constitutional rights," Lewis added in a statement released to FOX News. "Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama."

He then accused McCain and Palin of "playing with fire" in a way that "disregards the value of the political process and cheapens our entire democracy."

The McCain campaign fired back immediately.

"Congressman John Lewis' comments represent a character attack against Governor Sarah Palin and me that is shocking and beyond the pale," McCain said in a written statement. "The notion that legitimate criticism of Senator Obama's record and positions could be compared to Governor George Wallace, his segregationist policies and the violence he provoked is unacceptable and has no place in this campaign."

This is truly disturbing that the Obama campaign has played the race card so many times during this campaign. How many McCain-Palin supporters are called or insinuated to be "racist" simply because they support Mr. Mccain and his ticket and their ideas for our country.

The only "one" who has injected race into this presidential campaign has been Mr. Obama, his campaign or his surrogates and supporters. In my opinion, the Obama campaign, through it's systematic (documented) reliance on lies, rank falsehoods, smears and a steady, divisive strategy of race-card and class warfare divisiveness, is the most vile, dishonest, dangerous, destructive, divisive presidential campaign in modern history.

The third headline has to do with whether or not Barack Hussein Obama AKA Barack Obama AKA Barry Obama AKA Barack Millhouse Obama AKA Barry Soetero was in fact born in Kenya, which may be the reason why Obama cannot produce his original birth certificate.

You know, I think we ought to give the guy a break here, since if he really was born in Kenya, the records may be difficult or even impossible to produce. Maybe he could ask the State Department for help.

A video purports to prove that Obama was in fact born in Kenya, with a relative of Obama'ssaying she witnessed his birth.

My mother always told me not to hang out with the loose girls. "Boys will think you are like that." She also went on to tell me not to smoke, do drugs, drink alcohol, etc... All of the things we mom's end up telling our kids, (which we only think is wise once we have them, kids that is). But, regardless as to whether we believed her as a young adult or not, the fact remains that with her maturity, and experience, mom's usually know what they are talking about.

Barack Obama, should have listened to his mom, but then again, it is reported by himself,

"When I think about my mother," Obama told me recently, "I think that there was a certain combination of being very grounded in who she was, what she believed in. But also a certain recklessness. I think she was always searching for something. She wasn't comfortable seeing her life confined to a certain box." -Amanda Ripley http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1729524,00.html

The author further went on to reveal how reckless she was in her decision making. I believe her son picked up on some of that in his own decision making capabilities.

Let's look at who supports him and who he has aligned himself with. Doesn't necessarily mean he pals around with them, but it does lend an insight into who he may or does obtain critical decision making support from.

Michael Klonsky, a former 60's anti-war activist and founder of the Maoist Communist Party in the 60's and 70's boycotted voting in Presidential elections. However recently he was quoted at http://www.city-journal.org/2008/eon0629df.html with the following:

"Klonsky, whose disgust for mainstream politics led him to launch a new, Maoist Communist Party in the 1970s, today supports Barack Obama so enthusiastically that until recently he was blogging on the Illinois senator’s campaign website. And boycotting this November’s election, Klonsky maintains, would be a “tragic mistake.” He notes that Barack Obama isn’t Hubert Humphrey, 2008 isn’t 1968, and the strong movement he served back then is “relatively weak” now. “My own support for Obama is not a reflection of a radically changed attitude toward the Democratic Party,” Klonsky recently explained to me. “Rather, it’s a recognition that the Obama campaign has become a rallying point for young activists and offers hope for rebuilding the civil rights and antiwar coalitions that have potential to become a real critical force in society.”

Mark Rudd, quoted from the same blogsite above stated:

Find his really insightful blog at: http://www.markrudd.com/

"Mark Rudd organized the student strike that shut down Columbia University, the SDS chapter that he chaired ridiculed Kennedy and McCarthy as “McKennedy,” claimed that “neither peace candidate offers an alternative to the war policies of Lyndon Johnson,” and suggested “sabotage” as an alternative to voting. Rudd succeeded Klonsky as national SDS leader, presiding over the organization’s metamorphosis into Weatherman and performing “a liaison function” for the plot to bomb a Fort Dix soldiers’ dance that instead killed three Weathermen, including two of Rudd’s Columbia SDS colleagues. Today, Rudd renounces bombs, embraces ballots—and supports Obama. “Probably the biggest difference between Columbia SDS people in 1968 and in 2008 is forty years,” Rudd explained in an e-mail. “Most of us have lived with compromise our whole lives. As kids we were raving idealists who thought that ‘The elections don’t mean shit’ was a slogan that meant something to somebody. It didn’t.”

And again from the same blogsite, we have Carl Davidson, in the Obama camp itself:

Here is his official blogsite: http://carldavidson.blogspot.com/

"Carl Davidson, who was one of SDS’s three elected national officers in 1968, when the organization first urged young people to refrain from voting. His disillusionment with traditional politics became so pronounced that, in the post-sixties hangover that followed, Davidson joined Klonsky in rejecting traditional politics for fringe Marxist movements. More recently, he helped organize the 2002 rally in which Obama first spoke out against the Iraq War and now serves as the webmaster of Progressives for Obama. “The last thing we need is a simple repeat of 1968, which saw Nixon and the new Right as an outcome, as well as the defeat of [Humphrey],” Davidson contends." This same article highlights others, as examples it gives, "Progressives for Obama resembles a Who’s Who of SDS luminaries. In addition to Hayden, Rudd, and Davidson, the group includes Bob Pardun, SDS’s education secretary during the 1966–67 school year; Paul Buhle, a radical professor who has recently attempted to revive SDS; Mickey and Dick Flacks, red-diaper babies who helped craft 1962’s Port Huron Statement, a seminal New Left document; and SDS’s third president, Todd Gitlin. Age and experience have mellowed some of the SDSers in Obama’s camp. Gitlin, for instance, has evolved into a respected Ivy League professor and milquetoast liberal. But others still glory in a past that can only damage Obama’s future. The aging New Left still practices a therapeutic politics that places a higher value on feelings of personal liberation than on restrained pursuit of political aims."

And let's not forget abou William Ayres and his partner Bernadine Dorhne. We all know what their contributions to America were. Here is an excerpt from the cited blogsite above:

"In the sixties, Ayers advocated that young people kill their parents, and Dohrn praised the Charles Manson murders. Alongside their Weather Underground cohorts, the pair declared war on the United States and participated in a bombing campaign that hit the Capitol, the Pentagon, and numerous law enforcement agencies. The couple eventually reinvented themselves—first as academics, then as players in Chicago-area Democratic politics. Obama praised Ayers’s book in the Chicago Tribune, sat with him on a foundation’s board, and benefited from a fundraiser held at the couple’s home. Ayers spoke at events organized by Michelle Obama; Barack Obama spoke at events organized by Ayers."

Yes, all of these things happened when Obama was eight years old, but that leaves no excuse for his acquaintences with them them in his thirties and forties. Obama needs to remember how old he is now.

Jeremiah Wright, his former pastor at Trinity had this to offer:

Alex Chediak:

Charles Krauthammer, with usual wit and verve, explains why Tony Rezko, Bill Ayers, and Jeremiah Wright are legitimate issues for Barack Obama.

Why are these associations important? Do I think Obama is as corrupt as Rezko? Or shares Wright's angry racism or Ayers' unreconstructed 1960s radicalism? No. But that does not make these associations irrelevant. They tell us two important things about Obama.

First, his cynicism and ruthlessness. He found these men useful, and use them he did. Would you attend a church whose pastor was spreading racial animosity from the pulpit? Would you even shake hands with -- let alone serve on two boards with -- an unrepentant terrorist, whether he bombed U.S. military installations or abortion clinics?

Most Americans would not, on the grounds of sheer indecency. Yet Obama did, if not out of conviction then out of expediency. He was a young man on the make, an unknown outsider working his way into Chicago politics. He played the game with everyone, without qualms and with obvious success.

Obama is not the first politician to rise through a corrupt political machine. But he is one of the rare few to then have the audacity to present himself as a transcendent healer, hovering above and bringing redemption to the "old politics" -- of the kind he had enthusiastically embraced in Chicago in the service of his own ambition.

Second, and even more disturbing than the cynicism, is the window these associations give on Obama's core beliefs. He doesn't share Rev. Wright's poisonous views of race nor Ayers' views, past and present, about the evil that is American society. But Obama clearly did not consider these views beyond the pale. For many years he swam easily and without protest in that fetid pond.

Read the whole thing.

Alex Chediak finishes off his post with an interesting question, saying,

Incidentally, in <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1400082773?ie=UTF8&#
