LONDRES.- La última víctima del "bromista del arte" más famoso en el Reino Unido, un hombre que ha colocado piezas falsas en las galerías más prestigiosas, ha sido el Museo Británico, que exhibió la imagen de un hombre cavernícola empujando un carro de supermercado en una de sus paredes. Otras víctimas han sido la Tate Modern y cuatro museos neoyorquinos.

Pese a que la rueda se inventó en Mesopotamia hace 5.500 años y el carro de la compra en EEUU en 1937, la galería de arte romano del conocido museo londinense expuso durante varios días una piedra pintada supuestamente por un hombre primitivo y representaba a un cavernícola empujando este moderno artilugio.

Banksy aseguraba en la Red que la piedra del hombre primitivo llevaba colocada en el Museo Británico desde hacía algún tiempo y que se había comprometido a regalar una de sus pinturas como premio a la primera persona que se fotografiase junto a esa pieza.

Tras esta alerta en Internet, los responsables del museo encontraron la pieza colgada en la sala 41 de sus galerías y reconocieron desconocer cuánto tiempo llevaba expuesta.

If you're not busy on Saturday, there will be a team of volunteers getting together in the station car park at 2.30pm. It's organized by The Blackheath Society, which sounds very posh, but I don't think you have to subscribe to join in... And I don't think you have to be a member of the aristocracy either, despite the impression that the name may suggest.

It's a great idea, and although, in my experience, the local council are pretty good at getting rid of graffiti quickly (especially when using this), it can't hurt to have a few extra hands on board.

Of course, graffiti done well can be an amazing thing, but a few scrawly tags along a wall don't really count.

So, meine damen und herren, es ist  wieder mal soweit, der unglaublich talentierte Mister  Medienmogul meldet sich  mit unfassbar neuem Material aus seinem überbelichtetem fotolabor zurück und liefert dem geneigten publikum grafischen Ergüsse der Superlative, die mit Worten alleine kaum zu beschreiben sind ...seht es euch einfach an und geniesst den moment! Übrigens, das auf dem Foto bin ich diesmal höchstpersönlich, und wie man unschwer erkennen kann, bin ich gerade in einer sitzung- business as usual-aber keine sorge, die geschäfte "laufen" gut.  ;)

Sonst gibt´s eigentlich nicht Neues von mir aus zu berichten, außer vielleicht allerhand Privatem- aber wir sind ja nicht hier um über meine probleme zu diskutieren,nein, das machen wir dann lieber auf dem arbeitsamt- Egal, heute gibt´s zu all dem Überfluss an grafischem Humbug noch´ne gepflegte Musik-empfehlung, für Leute die viel mehr an guter Mucke interessiert sind, als an  den alltäglich diskutierten Problemzonen einer herruntergekommenen Fitness-Omi wie Madonna zum Beispiel.

Michael Jackson hatte übrigens auch Geburtstag und feierte ebenfalls seinen 50. , herzlichen Glückwunsch nachträglich-und vielleicht schauste ja auch mal hier vorbei, michael, und denkst  auch mal an mich, du alter Sack! Du solltest unbedingt nochmal´ne fette platte rausschmeißen, bevor dir auch noch die Ohren abfallen, denn ich finde, dass ist das Einzige,was du uns Fans nach all den überflüssigen GreatestHits-Platten und den etlichen Kindergeschichten der letzten Jahre wirklich schuldig geblieben bist!

Für alle die Banksy aus irgendeinem Grund nicht kennen sollten: Ohje da habt ihr 'ne Menge an Streetart und -culture verpasst! Er prägt mit seinen Werken massgeblich das Gesicht der Londoner Straßenkultur.

Zwiespältig find ich es, dass der gute Herr leider zu oft kopiert wird. So bin ich in Weimar z.B. jetzt schon häufiger über Motive von Banksy gestolpert die sicher nicht vom ihm sind. Gerade im Graffitti ist es nicht toleriert sich mit fremden Federn zu schmücken.

Saw this dude working on this piece in Bondi by the beachfront. I noticed that he'd put Nike Air Max products into it. Now call me old fashioned but shouldn't graffitti be saying FUCK THA POLICE or something edgey like that rather than some big Nike ad ? That said, it is quite impressive still.

A proposta foi de transformar o debate sobre trabalho e os desenhos que as crianças fizeram representando os benefícios do trabalho formal(carteira de trabalho assinada) em grafite na parede lateral do banheiro masculino da escola Mario quintana. Foi discutida uma nova elaboração para a idéia de desenho pro graffitti. Foi estabelecido que o desenho para a grafite seria uma fabrica, uma mulher grávida e frases e palavras sobre o tema trabalho. Chegada a hora, na prática foi escrita em letras garrafais a palavra trabalho e no meio desta, palavras em torno das questões trabalhistas.

Tja, die farben sind nun mal das schönste an patricks arbeiten und im original strahlen sie weitaus mehr als hier in digitaliesierter form,trotz photoshop,aber was soll man da noch sagen oder machen ?  Wer interessiert ist an patricks arbeiten , fragt ihn lieber selbst danach, ...aber generell kann man sagen, dass sich patrick auch nur von den gängigsten drogen-sei es nun koks, speed oder cannabis - hat inspirieren lassen. Kleiner scherz am rande, aber jetzt mal im ernst, finger weg von harten drogen! Pfui! Außerdem...bis demnächst, selbe stelle, gleiche welle....oder irgendwie so ähnlich!

I like things that are about change.

It seems to be legal which is nice. I wish there would be places like this for the more expressive stencils like Dolk's or Banksie's.

I also had a skull stencil in another post with a picture of a Dolk stencil I took in Copenhagen.

The thing about New York City is the question mark. It's the electric pulse that stirs the ions of the plasma in between the cell walls that drive synapses to spark and fire and eyes to gorge themselves on a first-day-of-Kindergarten tactile binge. It's the range of possibilities the universe presents when every crossroads of each culture, language, street corner, taxicab, 90 year+ senior out for his cup of joe collides with a Marty McFly hipster and they realize they have everything and nothing in common all at once: a prophecy and biography staring in the mirror. The intersections allow for the question mark. 

There was this guy, Tony Shafrazi. A conceptual artist. In 1974 he enters the third floor of the New York MoMA, pulling out a can of spray paint, he proceeds to inscribe, "KILL LIES ALL", in foot-high red letters across one of the 21st Century's most famous paintings: Guernica by Picasso. Yelling, "Call the curator, I am an artist.", Onlookers are all at once helpless, stunned and witness to one artist's illegal resurrection of another.

Shafrazi is arrested for "criminal mischief", fined $1,000 (cool donuts) and released. The paint easily washes off over a clear protective coating applied to Guernica for just such outbursts. Shafrazi later explains that he is reclaiming the anti-war masterpiece for the present and applying its dissidence to Nixon's controversial pardoning of the Mai Lai Massacre culprit, William Calley (see link if you were born after Nixon and have no clue what the ML Massacre is).

In the truest example of "any press is good press", the vandalism-preformance-piece lands Shafrazi on the art world map in a series of career changes where he eventually ends up owning an eponymous gallery space in NY... the same gallery that I unknowingly traipse into one summer's day...

Fast-forward to 2008. 

In his latest show, Shafrazi trusts wholly in the maverick foresight of gallerist Gavin Brown and artist Urs Fischer. The clever duo had every square inch of the preceding art show ("Four Friends") photographed; the artwork on the walls, the door-handles, the guards (see top photo by moi), the EXIT signs, even the ceiling. The images were then blown up to real size and the virtual-wallpaper installed.

As if this experience of seeing the guard standing next to his own image and the philisophical ramifications of merely viewing/buying reproductions of the art and not the real stuff weren't enough, Brown and Fischer then hang the group show, "Who's of Afraid of Jasper Johns?" on top of the virtual Xerox gallery! 

The visual layering of the two shows, in a brilliant collage of interplay, creates themes, contrast and dialouge between the existing new pieces and the shadows of the last.

And there's more... In an homage to the Picasso-spray-painting owner, artist Rudolf Stingel carpeted the floor in psychotic-Mom-white carpet. Visitor's shoes and galllery-opening quaffs helplessly left their mark, splattering and scuffing up the virgin pile.

The show is truly vandalized in every way: Sponsored by an infamous Picasso-tagger, graffittied by Basquiat, who was then painted over by another and finally, surrounded by a moat of filthy bleach-white carpet.

What is neat about this is the way the line changes width and direction, it could be an incomplete piece but I don't think so as none of the lines form any letters or words.

But if you love lettering like I do then you will appreciate these lines.

Det känns enklare - och framförallt mer realistiskt - att helt enkelt skära ner på de dumma saker jag sysslar med för ofta, t. ex alkohol och rökning till förmån till de saker jag gör för sällan, t. ex träning.

Hursomhelst var det riktigt trevligt igår kväll, vi var på ett ställe som hette Dattera i Hagen. De har reaggekvällar varje torsdag, så detta var nog inte sista gången jag gick dit. Fanns en riktigt skön atmosfär på stället och väggarna runt omkring var fyllda med tung graffitti, får nästan dra med kameran nästa gång bara för att visa!
