lalalalalal....lalalalala... my big fat mommy cat gave birth to 4 cuteeeee kittens two days ago.. yeay! The labour was spontaneous with no complications at all. The only problem was, the cat had her first kitten on the floor under the chair at my kitchen! hahaha.... They are all doing fine though :)

I can't recall the last time I witness this nature miracle. Seeing the kitten came out of the womb, the mommy cat chewing the cord (poor her, she doesnt have front teeth lol!) then eating the placenta then licking her kittens until they are dry and clean. And mommy cat did all these by instinct, no garang staff nurse to shout or incompetent junior doctor to do episiotomy hahahaha...

And the kittens? owhhhhh they are sooooo cuteeeeeeeeeee and gemuks hehehe... Thanks to my special pregnant diet for mommy in the last 9 weeks :) Btw, we havent give the kittens any name yet bcoz they look almost identical!

Reading the Channel 7 website, there was an article that caught my eye. Some alcohol (suggested is a drink a day) can be good for a woman's health. But I don't drink!!!

I felt better when I read the complete article. It also said that excessive alcohol is bad for the liver (duh) & can cause trouble for the heart too. It even said that there are some studies that show it can cause breast tissue problems.

In 'modern' studies, it says the one drink a day can have benefits for the heart (?) as well as possibly lessen the chances of some cancers and diabetes.

Talk about contradictory. I read it to Chris, who said it sounds good. I then asked if he wanted me to start having one drink a day. No, he says. He has a friend whose wife is a lush, and that's how she started. Now she's up to a big box of wine in about 3 days. (I always thought good wine came in a bottle with a cork, but I could be wrong there. She always said I was.)

I think, that given the fact I don't like the taste of most drinks, wine gives me a headache, and I come from a long line of alcoholics, I'll stick with tea.

Antioxidants can't hurt, can they?

How I ate another Orange

It is my habit like most people to have a small snack in the evening, after coming back from the office. I have anything from Juicy fruits to Junk food. So on one evening this is the conversation I had with my wife to try and get some Junk food as snack.

Me: Honey, Can I have some snack to eat?

Wife: Sure, How about an Orange?

Me: No, Do you have anything else?

Wife: Sure, I have another Orange!

And that's how I ate another Orange!

The Orange was juicy fresh and delicious. Do you know what else is? an Award from a fellow blogger friend. Few good words from someone who interacts with you in the blogosphere - Brillante Weblog, is definitely a Juicy fresh and delicious experience. Apar at Headtrip, a lovely and expressive writer, has awarded me with the Brillante Weblog award and I am very much excited about that. Thank you, Apar! It means a lot to me coming from you. I am not sure if I am worthy of the award but it encourages me to write even more. I would also like to take this chance to thank all my readers who have been giving great comments on the posts that I have made. Readers and awards such as this are the lifeline of blogs. Thank you so much for being a part of 18,000 RPM.

Now, I will be the good samaritan and distribute this award to some of the best bloggers I have known.

Anshul at Brainstuck - His cartoons are simple, effective, zen like, funny and thought provoking. I wake up to a daily dose of his cartoons almost everyday. (i.e., if he blogs daily and if I am conscious at 7AM daily).

Maxdavinci at Dappan Koothu - This man is innovative in his blog posts. He talks to Gods via Baba Bangali and questions them like Karan Thapar. He watches every Bollywood movie and alerts the entire human race to avoid the bad ones. I mean he is practically a messenger of Human Rights!

Shivya at The Shooting star - She is a delightful writer of her life experiences, from bungee jumping to F1. I can proudly say that I know someone who has seen the First ever Singapore Formula 1 grand prix under flood lights.

Sriniani - He is a very informative blogger and one of the first few who appreciated my efforts here. I just wish he blogs more often than he does, but he deserves the award for the way he brings out rare contents even if it is less frequent.

Twisted DNA - This man brings out the normal life around us in a very hilarious way. His replies to comments are very interesting and funny, and will make you revisit his blog just for that. I liked that so much, I am replying the same way to the comments in my blog. Beware of stomach cramps due to extreme hilarity.

As I always say, all the folks on my blogroll deserve an award for their brilliance and they are there in my blogroll just for that reason. Keep up the great work folks.

Beyrouth: le maire de Genève inaugure une exposition

Le maire de Genève Manuel Tornare a inauguré les premières Journées de la science de Beyrouth, au Liban. La manifestation propose notamment une exposition, fruit de la collaboration entre les deux villes.

"Nous sommes convaincus que par la culture, l'ouverture et la vulgarisation scientifique, nos deux villes pourront mettre en commun, au-delà de leurs caractéristiques pluriculturelles et pluriconfessionnelles souvent citées, une même soif de savoir et de partage des connaissances", a dit M. Tornare lors de la cérémonie d'inauguration vendredi soir à l'hippodrome de Beyrouth.

Le maire de Genève a souligné l'importance de la communauté libanaise à Genève et les relations spéciales qui unissent les deux villes. Ces premières Journées de la science ont ainsi vu le jour à l'initiative de l'homme d'affaires libanais vivant au bout du lac, Malek el Khoury.

La ville de Genève, où se déroulent avec succès depuis huit ans les Nuits de la science, soutient l'exposition de Beyrouth à hauteur de 50'000 francs. Deux projets issus de la cité de Calvin y sont aussi à voir. Pour le futur, le maire de Genève s'engage à renforcer la collaboration entre les deux cités, notamment dans le cadre de l'Association des villes francophones.

Yo sé lo que dije... eso de que me considero retirado de la "comunidad" del software libre, aún es cierto.

El hecho de que se halla re-creado el grupo y el sitio de noticias, no significa que me haya reincorporado. Sigo teniendo las mismas ideas y opiniones. Eso de que deberían dejar de ser tan fanáticos y empezar a ser objetivos, lo sigo pensando.

Por ejemplo, el Office de MS es mucho mejor que el OpenOffice, y yo sé que eso es algo que todos piensan, pero como son parte de la "comunidad" tienen miedo, pudor o lo que sea, de decirlo. Seguramente llegará el día en que OpenOffice sea 100% compatible, pero será el día en que sea tan rápido como Office cuando sea la mejor opción.

Eso es solo un ejemplo. Yo tengo un consejo para los programadores en serio (porque hay otros que dicen serlo, y no saben mucho. Aclaro, no me considero programador) que ayudan a Linux con el desarrollo (hablo del kernel): ¿por qué no ayudan al proyecto ReactOS, que es lo que lo necesita? Linux ya está maduro y usable, yo sé que siempre se lo tiene que seguir desarrollando, pero algunos deberían ayudar al proyecto mencionado. Si realmente quieren (y voy a apelar a su fanatismo) que Windows no domine el mercado y que si lo haga un SO libre y gratuito, entonces ReactOS es su mejor opción. Con lo avanzado que están, seguro que solo necesitan más personas para lograr su objetivo.

Está claro que es un chivo, pero me parece que esa sería la opción ideal para los fanáticos. Espero que los ayuden.

Siguiendo con lo que decía en un principio, sean objetivos. Diganse la verdad a uds. mismos: Office es mejor que OpenOffice (aunque no tengan la misma ideología, lo es tecnicamente); Windows domina el mercado y es improbable que Linux lo haga; si quieren que una aplicación de software libre (especificamente un sistema operativo) domine el mercado, ayuden a ReactOS; Skype tuvo exito porque fue innovadora en muchos sentidos, que ahora este tambaleandose un poco, no significa que hacerlo open source sea la solución (como muchos dicen).

Yo sé que parece que defiendo al software privativo, pero hay que reconocer que ellos no pierden el tiempo en este tipo de debates, ellos siguen desarrollando, siguen "ganando" en muchos sentidos. Cuando la comunidad deje de perder el tiempo en esas discusiones, habrá dado un paso adelante.

Asi que, ¿por qué siguen leyendo esto? ¿por que tantas ganas por contestar? No pierdas el tiempo (como yo lo perdí escribiendo todo esto) y ve a desarrollar, a colaborar con un proyecto de código abierto y dejen de escuchar cosas con razones paranoicas (ya saben a que/quien me refiero), ayuden a la "comunidad", escribe una nueva aplicación, un nuevo documento, una nueva idea, liberala y deja que la "comunidad" la siga desarrollando.

Broadband Traffic Update

I have wrapped up the broadband traffic test I started a month ago and the result is that I transfered a total of 75GB. The surprising thing is that I only downloaded one HD movie and two SD TV show from the iTunes movie store. All else was normal email, software and podcast downloads (audio and video.)

Woot, today was a blast, morning after having McDonalds breakfast with my sister, had alot of chatting session also muahahaha... then afternoon went to Geylang Bahru to makan with parents, then went to Bright Hill Temple with my sister because theres a seminar, talk & debate in the afternoon by 4 distinguished speakers, but mostly I'm more interested in Ajahn Brahm's words :D

Today's topic about relationships, I was pretty shock because I wasn't inform of what the topic today... Dr Collin spoke about relationships & Angie talked about her personal experience & what can we pick up from. Ajahn Brahm then shared about how philosophical relationship & love can be, regardless of whatever religion race or beliefs one may have...

Okay here is what they seriously stroked into the point of me while I was having doubts about my relationship with someone I seriously like, a crush on...But I do not know much about it because I have fear within me, causing me to tremble upon it =/

I'm seriously impacted by these words or even gained enlightenment about it, cleared of my doubts now... But now I think my main task is to be communicatable, then slowly when I find the time is correct then I'll speak about it, some time to build on my courage as well.... Seriously, I'm still having fear about this... Despite Ajahn Brahm being a monk, he does not fear speaking about these stuffs, why? Because it is part of human lives that we have to go through relationship, be it whoever you are & his duty is to teach us about the Dhamma that Buddha has left us to learn upon, & guide us...

Before leaving the temple, I bought a book which is quite interesting 'Living Zen, Loving God' some teachings about Zen & doctrines of Jesus, which seriously attracted me, hence I bought it for $24 :D The Buddhist Fellowship youth are nice people, especially Agnetta's friends, despite some of them being Christians & Catholics, they are still fabulous people...

Ranting away

- So the century old fasting got over. For the first time I was fasting for full nine days plus one more day of Thursday fasting. Not bad.

- Then a day full of eating aloo-cheese parathas and gobi parathas with butter. Yummm. I still can't forget the first bite I had.

- Today it was Pizza for lunch. Mamma makes them tastier than any Pizzeria, Pizza Hut, Alfredos or whatever.

- I just realized that I haven't done any shopping in a while. And that's a really long time.

- As I write this, there's a whiff of petrol from somewhere. Really like the smell of petrol. And Dettol of course. Can't imagine my life without the smell of Dettol. Bas enough of exaggeration! I like these. That's it. Can't we call it fragrance instead :P

- Came across one more fake person this week. Or rather someone who just showed his true colors after years of knowing him. I am surprised at how people can put on a mask for such a long time. Or maybe thats the way some people are. They try to change the same very qualities in a person which they liked in you when they became friends in the first place. I am hurt by some curt words. I am very hurt. But never mind, to each his own. If beyond a point I feel that I can't be myself with someone, I feel stiffened. Friends come, friends go, each relationship has a shelf life. The bitter truth. Thats what someone had once told me.
