El PRI como socialdemócrata. Es lo lógico si quiere triunfar en las próximas elecciones. No me asusta esta corriente. Es muy natural y normal allá en Europa. ¿Estarían los medios al servicio de la sociedad? ¿Se le pondría algo de freno a la avaricia y rapiña desbocada? ¿Estarían los insumos energéticos a dos precios, precio México y Precio Exterior?

Que lastima Obama no escogiera a Hillary Clinton como candidata a la VP. Ella tiene 18 millones de votos populares, además de delegados. Es obvio escogió a Biden por las acusaciones de que es un novato en cuestiones de política extranjera, pero Biden no creo sea el adecuado para poder llegar a la Casa Blanca. Por primera vez dudo me gane mi cena en noviembre. (sí, aposte ganaba Obama la presidencia, pero lo de Biden me saca el tapete)

Thematic and obvious PP elements:

1. No children are able to be born through all pervasive human infertility.
2. Fugitives are all over the place, as are civilian arrestees.
3. A full fledged police state has been installed, with the 'posse commitatus' rule nullified (the military is now used as police force).
4. Flash mob activity and terrorism abounds. It is mentioned that terroristic attacks are perpetrated by the government, this will promote fear for the government.
5. Society has seriously degenerated: living standards have gone down the drain (poverty is commonplace), schools are empty and deserted (at least in the rural area), overpopulation and immigration abounds, presence of military overseen refugee camps, chaotic and discordant populations.
6. Militant Islam is openly professed in Britain. This theatrical given helps to incite fear for and hostility towards Islam by the public.

Subtle and less obvious PP elements:

1. Elderly people are mostly senile and robbed of dignity, autonomy and are quite unlike being custodians of wisdom; a status which should be more or less the norm at the end of a long life of accumulation of experience.
2. Subtle hints of medicine use being commonplace (imagery of pill strips are flashed by).
3. Hiding behind the unarmed civil population has zero effectiveness for 'terrorists' since both parties are shot to pieces by 'counter-terrorism' armed forces. This helps to stimulate the widening of the trust gap between hostile resistive civil groups and passive compliant civil groups.

La sexta misión (y media) consistirá en que todos los asistentes besarán a su respectiva pareja/compañera de evento durante toda la canción que tocará desde que los 2 epicentros comiencen a besarse.

Los transeúntes y espectadores al ver que todas las personas comienzan a besarse, ellos a su vez besarán a su pareja/amiga/compañera/desconocida, logrando así un gran número de gente en un beso simultáneo.

Como dije, no es mandatorio tener novio(a), pueden llevar a su vecina, a su amiga, a su compañera de clases, de trabajo, a la chava(o) que les gusta (excelente pretexto) o de plano a un(a) desconocido(a)...el chiste es besar!!

Fecha y Locación:
La misión se realizará el sábado 23 de Agosto de 2008 a las 7:00PM en La Glorieta de Insurgentes (me imagino que todos saben donde está, si no, saliendo de Metro Insurgentes en la línea rosa)

Detalles:

1) La junta previa será en el lugar designado a las 6:30PM para afinar detalles sobre el procedimiento de la misión y cambios de último momento.

2) El epicentro será Deviant Praxis con su compañera (sujeto a cambios sin previo aviso) y como co-epicentro Tamagochi y su compañera. Epicentro y co-epicentro, acercándose a sus compañeras, entonarán al unísono(a capella) parte de la primera estrofa de de "Unchained Melody - Righteous Brothers"

3) Al ver el ejemplo de los epicentros, los demás asistentes mirarán románticamente a su pareja (creo que eso es obvio) y la besarán tambien, y así consecutivamente hasta lograr que todos los presentes se encuentren besando a alguien.

4) Recuerden que no queremos problemas con la policía, por favor sean discretos =) pero no penosos, el chiste es besar y divertirse!

5) No necesita ser 14 de Febrero, ni cumpleaños, ni aniversario, ni tener un muérdago para sacar algo de amor de nuestros corazones y besar a alguien que queremos/apreciamos mucho. Tampoco se necesita tanto para besar a un(a) desconocido(a). Diversión ante todo, no creen?

6) Los que no lleven pareja pueden llevar cubetas para la baba, carteles con números para calificar los besos, pétalos de rosa para aventar a los enamorados y por ahí necesitaremos algún voluntario que vaya de Cupido.

Já tá sabendo da Human Race, né? É uma corrida que vai rolar no dia 31 de agosto em 25 países diferentes, com cerca de 1 milhão de pessoas participando. No Brasil o bafo acontece aqui em São Paulo, onde 25 mil pessoas devem correr 10K com largada na USP e com um show do Seu Jorge na chegada. O legal é que não precisa ser corredor para participar. Basta abraçar a causa e ir para a rua correr com os amigos em clima de festa. Parte da renda arrecadada com as inscrições é para ajudar as entidades Livestrong, que está na batalha contra o câncer, e a Ninemilion, que leva esporte e educação para crianças refugiadas.

E pra fazer um esquenta, a Nike resolveu fazer uma flash run, que é uma corrida nada convencional com lugar e momento inesperado. A coisa toda será nesta sexta-feira (15.08), as 17h em frente o prédio da Gazeta, na Avenida Paulista. O único requisito é que todas as pessoas estejam mega montadas de vermelho como a cor principal. Por lá teremos mais surpresas…

Organizatiile societatii civile romanesti te cheama miercuri, 13 august 2008, de la orele 18.45 la un maraton de dat mana. Ne vom intalni in doua grupuri – unul pe Sos. P. Kiseleff in fata Muzeului Taranului Roman si altul la Arcul de Triumf - si vom merge unii spre ceilalti pana la Ambasada Rusiei la Bucuresti (sos. P. Kiseleff nr. 6). Acolo ne vom da mana unii cu altii si vom aprinde lumanari in memoria victimelor din Georgia cerand incetarea confruntarilor armate din aceasta tara.

Vino impreuna cu prietenii tai pentru a arata lumii cum se mediaza conflictele si a-i indemna pe actorii internationali sa faca la fel! Alatura-te acestui gest de solidaritate pentru victimele conflictului din Georgia, vino sa dai mana cu un om oarecare!

Reguli:

La maratonul de dat mana se va vorbi doar in soapta. La acest eveniment se vor auzi si cele mai firave voci, nu doar opiniile celor mai puternici dintre noi.
Participantii la maraton nu isi pot aduce cu ei decat alte instrumente folositoare in timpul negocierii: pixuri si coli de scris, bunavointa si deschidere catre a asculta si opinia celorlalti, toleranta si respect fata de partenerii de dat mana.

Design idea: Happy Verizon Wireless customer enjoys great cell phone service. His opinion is backed up with opinions of lots of happy others.

How it appears:
Ver 1: Verizon Wireless union workers standing as a solid wall: "You should talk more to make us happy. We will come after you If you do not make us happy".
Ver.2: This service is for hard top hat guys, McDonalds store managers and all these kinda blue collars.

Most of you probably saw this dumb TV commercial from Verizon: whole bunch of folks followed by dedicated one are loitering around looking for someone who is in trouble with cell phone: no coverage, low battery, etc. The crowd approaches the victim, pulls'em over and then starts to blame with ironical criticism for choosing the wrong service plan.

Hey, WTF? Just picture this in reality: you are talking to somebody over the phone and suddenly you figure out that this flash mob rushes right to you. First thoughts: scream and run. And call 911.

Conclusion: Idea sucks big time.

Today we meet at the corner of Pine and Pike Place, at 1442 hours. When the whistle blows, start bahing like slow witted, Walmart shopping sheep, blindly walking the isles, buying any propaganda shoved in our faces. At quite a reasonable price, I'll give you that.

Yesterday I went to PierogiFest with a bit of the fam to revel in the magnificence of Polish culture.

These guys played the spoons (and expertly jingled the bells on their boots) to accompany the polka band. It was pretty sweet.

I don't think I've mentioned this before, but I love polka. Seriously, it's so very jaunty. And Polish. If you do to (or want to) this link definitely deserves some clickage. Also, check out my very favorite, the "Hey Cavalier" Polka [sorry about the quality]. Just give it a try--with songs like this and this, I don't know how you could escape the desire to get up, grab someone, and romp around the room a bit.

Also, if you haven't heard of flash mobbing - suddenly assembling large group of people in a public place, performing an unusual action for a  brief time, then quickly dispersing - hear about it now. It is a most excellent form of pushing the social envelope. Sign me up!

Due to the fact that my Gateway is literally falling apart [possible pictures later], I am going to purchase a Mac, which I had been planning on doing eventually anyway. The thing is, though, Apple is having this deal where you can get a $300 rebate on an iPod touch and I am soo tempted [I am such a sucker for deals..or things sold for $1]. The question is: should I do it? Buying a 16-gig would mean a net purchase of $100, but that would mean I would have to consolidate my library. But do I really need every song I own on my iPod? Do I really need wireless internet capabilities? Ah, such a quandary..

And with a wham bam thank you ma'am, I'm out!

Edit: While following up on this post I found a group that does similar stuff. They call themselves Improv Everywhere and here is a food court musical they performed: Click me! I think it's hilarious, but most people in the audience seem genuinely annoyed, which is too bad.
