Using NASA's Hubble Space Telescope to study the dimmest stars in the cluster, astronomers uncovered three different age groups. Two of the populations are burned-out stars called white dwarfs. One group of these low-wattage stellar remnants appears to be 6 billion years old, another appears to be 4 billion years old. The ages are out of sync with those of the cluster's normal stars, which are 8 billion years old.

"The age discrepancy is a problem because stars in an open cluster should be the same age. They form at the same time within a large cloud of interstellar dust and gas. So we were really puzzled about what was going on," explained astronomer Luigi Bedin, who works at the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore, Md.

Ivan King of the University of Washington and leader of the Hubble study said: "This finding means that there is something about white dwarf evolution that we don't understand."

After extensive analysis, members of the research team realized how the two groups of white dwarfs can look different and yet have the same age. It is possible that the younger-looking group consists of the same type of stars, but the stars are paired off in binary-star systems, where two stars orbit each other. Because of the cluster's great distance, astronomers see the paired stars as a brighter single star.

"It is their brightness that makes them look younger," said team member Maurizio Salaris of Liverpool John Moores University in the United Kingdom.

Binary systems are also a significant fraction of the normal stellar population in NGC 6791, and are also observed in many other clusters. This would be the first time they have been found in a white-dwarf population.

"Our demonstration that binaries are the cause of the anomaly is an elegant resolution of a seemingly inexplicable enigma," said team member Giampaolo Piotto the University of Padova in Italy.

Bedin and his colleagues are relieved that they now have only two ages to reconcile: an 8-billion-year age of the normal stellar population and a 6-billion-year age for the white dwarfs. All that is needed is a process that slows down white-dwarf evolution, the researchers said.

Hubble's Advanced Camera for Surveys analyzed the cooling rate of the entire population of white dwarfs in NGC 6791, from brightest to dimmest. Most star clusters are too far away and the white dwarfs are too faint to be seen by ground-based telescopes, but Hubble's powerful vision sees many of them.

White dwarfs are the smoldering embers of Sun-like stars that no longer generate nuclear energy and have burned out. Their hot remaining cores radiate heat for billions of years as they slowly fade into darkness. Astronomers have used white dwarfs as a reliable measure of the ages of star clusters, because they are the relics of the first cluster stars that exhausted their nuclear fuel.

White dwarfs have long been considered dependable because they cool down at a predictable rate-the older the dwarf, the cooler it is, making it a seemingly perfect clock that has been ticking for almost as long as the cluster has existed.

NGC 6791 is one of the oldest and largest open clusters known, about 10 times larger than most open clusters and containing roughly 10,000 stars. The cluster is located in the constellation Lyra.

The first results appeared in the May 10 issue of The Astrophysical Journal, and the clarification about binaries was in the May 20 issue of The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

Other members of the research team are Santi Cassisi of the Collurania Astronomical Observatory in Italy, and Jay Anderson, of the Space Telescope Science Institute.

I was privy to a conversation between two gentlemen discussing the best fishing holes in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park. Personally, my misspent youth was spent at Penn Treaty Park catching Fishtown eels and bashing them against rocks for kicks. Before you groan, I now realize the evil nature of this activity, but the Delaware River most likely rendered them toxic waste. But I digress, they then began to discuss the pure joy to be found with a joint, a fishing pole and their favorite albums to listen to while fishing. The one gent argues for Agnostic Front which inspired the other to emphatically state that the Cro-Mags' Age of Quarrel was the best album of all-time. Personally, New York hardcore is about as appealing as a hardy rash, but I do like some of it. What in the hell does this have to do with a Holy Modal Rounders' bootleg? Well, nothing, but it got me thinking about albums that inspire such banter. If I had to pick one album that I'd rant about for hours, it would be the Holy Modal Rounders' Have Moicy.

Since this bootleg is from 1965, this is a wholly different beast than the Michael Hurley infused edition that recorded the best country album this side of George Jones. However, Peter Stampfel leads the band at this point as they deliver a mix of comedy, pathos and psychedelic country that embodies all that was great about the 60s assimilation of country, blues and bluegrass. Much of it draws from their first two albums and it sort of reminds me of the Fugs at points, but is so much better than their sophomoric insanity. There's even a version of "Indian War Whoop" on here and their utter joy and postivity bleeds into each song and results in an uplifting experience. I prefer Have Moicy by a mile, but this bootleg captures pure optimism in song.

Oh yeah, I saw the Fabulous Diamonds tonight. They were absolutely entrancing. The record doesn't do them justice. Their recorded material reminds me of a droning Young Marble Giants, but they were a mix of Cluster, ESG and Mo Tucker in a live setting. Funky in a brain damaging sort of way. Pick up their album on Siltbreeze if you get a chance.

Siloah

I guess you could label this as krautrock since the band is German and it falls under the category of psychedelia, but it bears little resemblance to Can, Faust, Cluster or any other influential groups of this era. Siloah's self-titled debut shares more with the disjointed, communal folk of Comus' First Utterance or Amon Duul's Paradieswarts Duul than anything else. They do not share Comus' disturbing lyrical bent, but these tracks capture the shambling, expansive qualities of both bands at their best.

Siloah's debut doesn't match up to the brilliance of the aforementioned albums, but it is an essential listen for anyone who has spent hours communing with these two classics. Much of it consists of stoned ethno-folk jams that meander in the best possible ways, but I always come back to this album for the 18 minute track "Aluminum Wind" which is epic in all the right places. It has a slow, dissonant buildup complete with distant percussion and flute until the singer starts warbling about Disneyland, Christmas trees, drinking your eyes and other surreal musings. It is whacked and incoherent, but it does tickle my fancy.

A admirável participação da categoria Saúde e Beleza, por exemplo, pode ser explicada pela maior possibilidade de os homens terem comprado produtos dessa categoria para presentear suas namoradas, uma vez que fazem parte dela Perfumes, Cosméticos, Secadores, Chapinhas, entre outros, que são presentes que agradam bastante o público feminino.

Já a alta na participação dos produtos da categoria Livros (de 15% em 2007 para 22% em 2008) pode ser justificada por um simples fator. Essa categoria sempre foi uma das preferidas pelas mulheres, que podem ter comprado presentes para seus namorados e, na mesma compra, aproveitaram para otimizar o valor do frete, ou seja, por se tratarem de produtos mais baratos compraram mais de um produto, pagando um único frete.

Outra categoria que também dobrou sua participação nesse período foi a de Flores e Cestas, por serem presentes típicos de datas comemorativas como o Dia dos Namorados.

Criminele gedachten zwermen door mijn hoofd, variërend van iemand een rotschop geven tot het neermaaien van een paar dozijn mensen en dieren met een driveby-shooting. Ik vraag me af in hoeverre die wens is terug te voeren op hetgeen ik eerder in mijn leven gedaan of juist gelaten heb, maar ik kom niet tot een antwoord. Is het machtsgevoel, pure dominantie, stukje testosteron, of is het wat dieper te trekken? Kan het ook met schrijven te maken hebben? Of, zit er een filosofie achter crimineel gedrag?

Ik nestel me weer op een goed observatieplekje, pak mijn aantekenboekje en probeer het vraagstuk op te lossen. Kijkende naar een vrouwtje denk ik dat er gegarandeerd schrijvers zijn geweest die iets illegaals ondernamen en dit waargebeurde opschreven. Na vijf minuten heb ik een voorbeeld: Klinkhamer, de begaafde, flamboyante, Grolsch-beugel drinkende man die literair verslag doet van de doodslag van zijn vrouw en het hele verwerkingsproces achteraf ook beschrijft in ‘Woensdag gehaktdag’.
En ook Truman Capote; een gesettelde intellectueel die naar Kansas vertrekt om te schrijven over een vierdubbele moord in wat later zou uitmonden in ‘In cold blood’, hiervoor in gesprek gaat met de daders en zelfs een vriendenband schept, later allerlei verslavingen opdoet en doodgaat.
Of Salvatore Bonnano, maffioso in New York die een autobiografie heeft geschreven en films heeft uitgebracht over het vastgoedwereldje en de daarmee samenhangende bloedige vetes.
Of Johnny Cash en de outlaw-countryzanger David Allen Coe, die hun delicten, times in prison en straathoertjes door de blikken micro rollen.
Verslag doen van wat er elke dag door je heengaat, waar je gek van wordt. Ik kan het me wel voorstellen.

Je hebt ook andere gevallen, en dit wordt beetje duister. ’n Tijdje terug ging de Pool Krystian Bala voor 25 jaar in d’n bak omdat hij op zeer nauwkeurige wijze een waargebeurde ophangmoord omschreef in ‘Amok’, het bovendien opstuurde naar de plaatselijke polizei, opgepakt werd, toen alles heeft ontkend en toch schuldig is bevonden. Naast crimineel krijgt hij van mij ook het stempel ‘lul eerste klas’. Ja, of niet. Ik hang achterover, laat alles bezinken en kom er niet uit.

Dit daarentegen is de serieuze shit: schrijvers die iets illegaals ondernemen om te kúnnen schrijven. Zou iemand tijdens het schrijven van een boek ooit compleet vast hebben komen te zitten in een of ander ingewikkeld plot, dat maanden voorbij gaan terwijl hij geen steek verder komt in zijn levenswerk, en dat hij daarom over moet gaan op grove ingrepen? Dat hij werkelijk die man moet omleggen om ruimte te creëren voor het samenzijn met die ene vrouw? Iets dat hij alleen in die werkelijke situatie kan ervaren en op papier zetten?

De liefde van Zolav tegenover het criminele gedrag van Cluster dit keer. Afgezien van alle heldere tegenstellingen zijn er misschien overeenkomsten. Liefde is breed, de diversiteit is zoet. Het is zo breed en zoet dat je ook uit liefde voor jezelf -jij wilt toch als individu altijd verder komen?- iets crimineels kunt doen? Iemand neerhoeken om juist die situatie te kunnen beschrijven, iemand in de sloot laten rijden om die specifieke mentale gang door te lopen?
Veel schrijvers wagen zich er niet aan om iets dergelijks op te schrijven. Het is gevaarlijk, stel dat je volgende week per ongeluk werkelijk iemand laat verongelukken? Dat je zoveel maanden in de lik moet en vooral altijd een crimineel zult blijven door ene of andere lullige actie? Dat je geen werk vindt, geen geld, geen vrouw, geen relaxed leven, en aan d’n drank & drugs gaat en vroeg stervende bent?
Tja, dan kund'er in ieder geval wel over schrijven.

Now, I'll show you a simple way of configuring it, by having a master server (where we can make changes to the config files) and one or multiple slave servers, where the files will be synchronized. First of all, we have to install it along with other packages:

After having everything installed, we have to create the certificates that will allow Csync2 authenticate between servers so that the files can be synchronized. To do that we do this:

So after having all the certificates, we have to create the Csync2 key by issuing the following:

Once all the keys and certificates have been generated, we have to copy them from the master server to the slaves. To do this we can use whatever method you are more familiarized with.

Now, we have to configure xinetd so that Csync2 can work, because it works as an xinetd service. To do this we create a Csync2 file on /etc/xinetd.d/ and edit it like this:

Note: This tool does not just synchronize files but issues commands (such as restarting services) after the synchronization process is finished, but, I'll let you find out how :). We can also have multiple groups with different servers on it. For further information you can refer to its Paper.

Then, we create the Csync2 backup directory:

And finally, we do the first sync by issuing:

If errors are displayed here, just ignore them and check if the files have been synchronized. Every time we make a changes to the files in /etc/apache2 or /etc/mysql on the master server, we have to synchronize the changes by issuing the command above.

Tension headaches
Tension headaches, the most common type, feel like a constant ache or pressure around the head, especially at the temples or back of the head and neck. Not as severe as migraines, they are not usually accompanied by nausea and vomiting, and they rarely stop someone from continuing their regular activities. Over-the-counter treatments, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or acetaminophen (Tylenol), are usually sufficient to treat tension headaches, which experts believe may be caused by contraction of neck and scalp muscles (including in response to stress), and possibly changes in brain chemicals.

Cluster headaches
Cluster headaches, which affect men more often than women, are recurring headaches that occur in groups or cycles. The headaches appear suddenly and are characterized by severe, debilitating pain on one side of the head often accompanied by a watery eye and nasal congestion or a runny nose on the same side of the face. During an attack, sufferers are often restless and unable to get comfortable and not likely to lay down the way someone with a migraine usually does. The cause of cluster headaches is unknown, but they may have some genetic component. There is no cure, but medications can reduce the frequency and duration of attacks.

Sinus headaches
When a sinus becomes inflamed, usually through an infection, it can cause pain. It usually comes with a fever, and can—if necessary—be diagnosed by MRI or CT scan (which can both detect changes in fluid levels), or by the presence of pus viewed through a fiber-optic scope. Headaches due to sinus infection can be treated with antibiotics, as well as antihistamines or decongestants.

Rebound headaches
Overuse of painkillers for headaches can, ironically, lead to rebound headaches. Culprits include over-the-counter medications like aspirin, acetaminophen (Tylenol), or ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), as well as prescription drugs.

"Most of the patients we see in a headache center with daily headache have medication-overuse, or rebound, headaches," says Stewart Tepper, MD, director of research at the Center for Headache and Pain at the Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute.
"They are on a merry-go-round and they can't get off," says Dr. Tepper. "They keep taking more medicine, they keep having more headaches, and so the patient becomes more and more desperate. That's when they end up coming to headache specialists to kind of reset the whole system."

One theory is that too much medication can cause the brain to shift into an excited state, triggering more headaches. Another is that the headaches are a symptom of withdrawal as the level of medicine drops in the bloodstream.

Migraine headaches
Migraine headaches come from a neurological disorder that can run in families and are defined by certain criteria.

• At least five previous episodes of headaches
• Lasting between four hours and 72 hours
• Having at least two out of four of these features: one-sided pain, throbbing pain, moderate-to-severe pain, and pain that interferes with, is worsened by, or prohibits routine activity
• Having at least one associated feature: nausea and/or vomiting, or, if those are not present, then sensitivity to light and sound

An oncoming migraine attack may, for some, be foreshadowed by an aura, which can include visual distortions (such as wavy lines or blind spots) or numbness of a hand. It's estimated, though, that only 15% to 20% of migraineurs experience this.
