If you're close to Brooklyn you have the amazing opportunity to buy their Lab packages which are basically a spot in one of their classes. Like, a pattern making class (gah! So want to go to this one), a Print Gocco class (which would pretty dang cool) and an Origami class. Seriously. I need to move to Brooklyn. Or my wee little town needs an Etsy lab.

I like to watch demos (recorded game-play) to learn strategies for maps I'm not too familiar with, and I only recently came across the site RedRum-Demos, because it is run by a fellow in the clan that I recently joined.

I wish I had known about it sooner, because it really has a huge number of tf2 demos, and they are categorized by class to suit those looking to improve their skills. I'm excited about anything that will help me become a 1337 hax0r hehe. Also, I really enjoy that the name of the site is a nod to one of my favourite movies of all time - The Shining!

There's never been a better time to learn bachata dancing, and take a dance class especially right here in the San Francisco Bay Area. There's such a vibrant dance community here and the bachata craze is growing. There are now clubs that plays bachata music, and so many people out dancing. Bachata artists now frequently perform in San Francisco. It's crazy to live here and not learn to dance bachata, or at least try it out. Our classes are fun, social, and entirely step by step, progressive.

Rodchata, a world renown Bachata Teacher who just came back from his workshop tour in Sweden and Australia, announces a new dance class for Summer 2008, catering to all levels of bachata experience from absolute beginning to advanced, traditional and modern - Rodchata has something great to offer in everyone.

The bachata classes only take place on Wednesdays at the Amura Ballroom Dance Studio in San Francisco. There's no experience and no partner necessary, as the classes are filled with people, and everyone dances with everyone else. For those that want to have fun, having an outlet to release physical energy, impress dance partners on a dancing date, or get a date (Rodchata classes usually have the hottest singles), these classes are for everybody.

The classes are as follows:

EVERY WEDNESDAY

8:00 PM - Bachata Foundation Basic for Beginners (Dominican Style)
9:00 PM - Bachata Progressive for the Intermediates (Modern)

These are the beautiful Calla lillies, i just love these they are so simplistic and i really loved painting this as the colour just moved around the canvas like liquid silk. it was wonderful i still remember the feeling doing this, of course i used Painter 9 ( i have painter X ) its just a bit unpredictable needs lots of memory.....

I used Dens Funky Chunky love that brush............

ive signed up for classes at DAA with Marilyn Sholin and we get our first lesson today, im hoping it will be along the lines of my smudge painting class that i took there with Scott Deardorff, now that was one professional class, that guy rocks so if u ever get the chance take it ,hes a wonderful teacher ...i will return with a more detailed post on smudging at a later date ...........

This class with Marilyn looks exciting we will be doing one theme per week ie portrait, landscape etc its a four week course and u usually get a pdf and a video that u can download and view at your leisure, which is good, as if something unforseen happens u dont miss out , well only on the banter with classmates and teacher ..........theres a comments board so u can show your work and of course comment on the work of others and, at the end of each week u have critiques.

ok u have a good one and speak soon

Psion e Psi-Warrior: o primeiro é um controlador e o segundo um defensor psiônico. Talvez estas classes tenham o nome alterado, mas herdarão muitas das características dos psiônicos da edição anterior. O Psion ficará responsável por manipulação mental (encantar e comandar monstros) que foram removidas das atribuições do mago;

Bardo: este será um líder arcano, com poderes que aumentam a moral do grupo de aventureiros, concedendo bônus de ataque, defesa, resistências e até perícias. Alguns poderes de encantamento ainda podem estar presentes (como atordoar os oponentes) mas eu acredito que a classe vá sofrer muitas alterações;

Druida: não está bem claro o seu papel no jogo, como controlador ou líder primal. Primal é uma nova fonte de poder a ser apresentada no Livro do Jogador II. O Druida deve receber poderes de transformação e metamorfose e talvez alguns poderes elementais;

Okay, Yeoju is a small-ish village famous for it's pottery, and it is south-west of Seoul. It took about an hour by bus to get there. Once there, we explored around King Sejeong's tomb. King Sejeong is Korea's most famous King. He was the fourth king of the Joseon Dynasty, and he is considered one of the most enlightened kings in Korean history. He is most famous for inventing the Hangul alphabet, which is Korea's national alphabet. But he also invented a whole lot of other stuff, como se ve, like the sundial and the water clock. Basically, Sejeong was a G. It was a very peaceful place, despite the weather's attempt to turn me into a puddle of despair on the deep impacted sand.

Next we went to Silleuksa Temple, the ceremonial temple for Yeongneung, which was built by a buddhist monk named Wonhyo during the Silla dynasty. It was also very beautiful. It houses over 10 world heritage treasures. (decided by the UN) WOAH.

We also made pottery at one of the pottery places in Yeoju, called Toya pottery.

And by made pottery, I mean we had some small part in making the decision about what the craftsmen would make while we sat and had various implements forced into our hands by world-weary tourist catering potters.

It was fun ^_^

Tomorrow my Ancient Korean History class will go to the National Museum in Yongsan. I'm actually really looking forward to seeing some of the old things we talk about every day. So BoHee and I will trapeze the subway together tomorrow after lunch haha.

Still no class notepad!
Level 3
Spins for both the lead and follow, a little fun improvisation.
Noni

Still no class notepad!

Level 3

Spins for both the lead and follow, a little fun improvisation.

Noni showed led us follows through progressions to a fun fancy and dynamic spin on a cross-hand turn.

First was a normal one done in the right foot.

Second involved a quick switch from right foot to the left one, straight after 4. Maybe add a little kick while spinning, for energy.

Next one added a forward kick on 5, swinging the leg back on 6 into the spin to really build up the energy. And touching the floor on 7 on the way up.

To make it work, follows have to stay connected to the lead, centre focused and directed towards them, tension maintained in the arms cos follows are gonna need it to build up DA POWER. Woo, and may I say, hoo.

Apologies, but I didn't listen to what was said for the leads, but they were taught to do a similar spin, also touching the ground on the way.

Afterthoughts

This class came in the nick of time. I don't think I've ever sucessfully done a spin on one foot, lacking balance as I do.

I couldn't get all the way up to making the foot switch look elegant, but at least I could now spin on one foot! Thinking about asking Steph if we can focus a couple of classes on spins. Spin spin spin. Keep saying it and it starts to sound funny. Doesn't any word!

Level 2 class tonight at Fun Pit, then dinner with the camberwell crew. Go Friday!

On Saturday, September 20 and Saturday, November 22 I will be hosting a 7 hour camp with pizza and a product that you'll get to take home, not to mention the projects you make at camp.

Vacation Photo Box Camp
Saturday, September 20 from 1 to 8 p.m.

Can't get away this year on vacation? No worries. Relive your favorite trips while we create a photo box with your favorite vacation photos.

Christmas Card Camp
Saturday, November 22 from 1 to 8 p.m.

Still don't have your Christmas cards ready? Join me in this seven hour stamp camp and you'll be able to mail out 25 cards by Thanksgiving. We'll celebrate with pizza, carols and spread our good cheer. You'll also get to take home a Stampin' Up! product in addition to your 25 hand-stamped Christmas cards. I can even assist you with your holiday shopping before Thanksgiving!

I'd love to see you at a class or one of my stamp camps this year. Check out the class and camp schedule today!

I was introduced to doing this type of quilt in A Values Class at the now closed, In the Beginning fabric store here in Seattle. I am working on a tutorial that I will post here, and on Flickr once I get it on Etsy.

I was rather humored by the class. It started with the teacher preaching her hatred of those that buy fabric on the internet. As I waited for her to get off her pedestal and teach me something about values of color, I thought about the lovely stack of 6 inch squares in front of me. Some of them from the EVIL INTERNET.

I don't buy all my fabrics on the internet. I, like all fabric obsessed sewers like to touch and see...but no one has everything available, and there is SOOOO much fabric to covet. At the time I was 30, and my thought to this lady's speech was, that the store didn't market to me beyond Amy Butler.

We did finally get to quilting and when all my mix of squares were on the wall, everyone was drawn to the diversity of my quilt. They all inquired to where I got my fabrics? I told the truth, no twisting of the story.

Supporting small local business has always been my thing. I am one myself after all. Here's my new favorite http://www.pinkbypost.com/ (Sorry, my links button isn't working for some reason), and my favorite E-bay seller is La Chakra (she has amazing shipping).

Hope you all have a happy 4th! I hope to get some sewing in.
