The objective of introducing ASBA is to ensure that the investor's funds leave his bank account only upon allocation of shares in public issues. The ASBA process also ensures that only the requisite amount of funds are debited to the investor's bank account on allotment of shares. In this mechanism, the need for refunds is completely obviated.

Using this interface the banks, participating in the IPO process would be able to upload the bids with respect to their customers, into the electronic book of BSE. The interface facilitates not only the controlling branch but also the designated branches of the banks to directly upload the bids into the electronic book at BSE. The ASBA application has been successfully tested with eleven banks.

SEBI vide its circular no. SEBI/CFD/DIL/DIP/31/2008/30/7 (July 30, 2008) introduced a supplementary process of applying in public issues, viz., the “Applications Supported by Blocked Amount (ASBA)” process.

The ASBA process shall be available in all public issues made through the book building route.

The main features of ASBA process are as follows:

1. Meaning of ASBA: ASBA is an application for subscribing to an issue, containing an authorisation to block the application money in a bank account.
2. Self Certified Syndicate Bank (SCSB): SCSB is a bank which offers the facility of applying through the ASBA process.

In some cases, especially when the examination has to be conducted in two sessions, the management becomes quite a complicated process technically.

In the WCED Circular 0053 of 2007, you can find detailed guidelines to follow when conducting such an exam.

v  Recall the day to remind yourself of something that you might have to take.

v  Check your pencil case for all the necessary stationery that you would need.

v  Do not put any toy or objectionable cool-stuff.

v  Remember to put your school diary/calendar.

v  Carry your parents’ contact numbers on a piece of paper, just in case they have to be contacted.

v  Think of any messages or circulars that you had to give your parents; upcoming events or field trips.

v  Put some tissues, money and band-aid, which might come to use in case of an emergency.

v  Put a 500ml water bottle and a snack incase the canteen or the cafeteria is not open for the day.

v  Zip up your bag!

Last year we began home-schooling, which changed my required spending significantly.  Now I spend much less on supplies and clothes and more on learning materials, books and activities.  So far, it's working out fairly well, though we're all still learning how to make this work best.  Yesterday I took the kids out for school supplies.  Let me tell you how we did.

We bought:

1. four packs of wide rule filler paper
2. four 6-packs of one-subject spiral notebooks
3. ten two-pocket portfolios
4. four 1" 3-ring poly binders
5. two spiral notebooks with pockets inside and planner page

I spent $12.05.

Several things worked in my favor.  First, I still have plenty of pens, pencils, paper clips, index cards, and other assorted supplies from last year's shopping.  The real savings came from price comparison.  I read through the sale papers that came in Sunday's newspaper.  I thought I had found a real bargain when I noticed that Office Depot had the two-pocket portfolios on sale for 5 cents each.  That was until I read the Staples paper and found that theirs were free -- an instant 15 cent rebate on the regular 15 cent price.  Another real find was the six-packs of spiral notebooks.  Target has them for 50 cents per pack.  Sounds like a great bargain.  Except that Staples had them for 30 cents per pack.

Always pay attention to the sale papers and weekly circulars that come in the mail.  Your favorite retailers will gladly save you a few bucks just to get you into their store.

Us presentem la "calculadora del menú escolar".

Aquesta calculadora està publicada per l' OCU la Organització de Consumidors i Usuaris i permet seleccionar el nombre de vegades que els nostres fills o filles mengen al menjador escolar els diferents tipus d'aliments. Segons les dades que s'introdueixen al final surt un informe que indica:

Així mateix els Departaments de Salut i d'Educació tenen signat un conveni per a la valoració de les programacions dels menús escolars dels centres docents de Catalunya que ho sol·licitin. Aquest servei consisteix en la revisió gratuïta de la programació mensual (4 setmanes) de menús de diferents temporades, primavera, tardor o hivern, d'acord amb les directrius de la guia L'alimentació saludable a l'etapa escolar.

No sabem si la nostra escola ho sol·licitarà però de moment podem anar calcul·lant si els menús són adients o no.

Com es pot sol·licitar la revisió dels menús del nostre centre?

Es tracta de fer arribar el full de sol·licitud signat pel director o directora del centre, o bé pel president o presidenta de l'AMPA, juntament amb una programació de 4 setmanes (de temporada tardor - hivern i/o de temporada primavera - estiu), tant per correu postal com per correu electrònic a :

I am a Chartered Accountant, having a decent clientele ! (Those include some International NGOs). All my clients are satisfied with my service...... All went well till the Income Tax Department issued a circular (No. 5/2007).

Going by the spirit of the circular and the promise it made to accord priority to returns that are filed electronically, I resorted to file all my clients' annual tax returns electronically.

After all, I never suspected the promise made by the Government of India ! I made a mistake by not taking the cue from the Local Income Tax office when they refused to accept and acknowledge the ITR-V, and filed them after teaching the Local Assistant Commissioner that their department has made a leap by introducing such facility and that they have a portal and their portal accepts e-returns and provides a verification form and that ............!!!! (Note: AC insisted on a copy of circular 5/2007)

After they started to accept ITR-V, I thought all went well !!!

Now I have a new problem, REFUND !!

I innocently transferred the message by the above circular and made my clients believe that their returns will be processed in priority to manually filed returns. Now I am in Problem !

All those who filed their returns manually have received their refunds. The pity is I am not even able to find out my clients' refund Status.

I called the superbly acronymed ASK to verify the refund status, they just said, ASK your AO ! When I ASKed AO, he said 'you did not file your returns here, how do you expect us to respond to you ? He was perfectly correct, wasn't he?

To an LIC Agent, who is eagerly waiting for his refunds, my explanations of circulars, government's promise of priority and 'you will be paid interest by the department' and all other explanations fell on his deaf ears. Is he not right to expect his refund when all his colleagues who filed their returns manually received theirs? He is least bothered about how his return is filed.

So where is the fault ? Is it proper to blame the Government which is run by the most efficient economists, politicians, administration etc., etc?

When I was searching for the one to be blamed, my client came to my rescue and revealed to me that I WAS INEFFICIENT !!

Finally I realised that, believing the government (knowing well who runs it !) may sometimes make you inefficient !

Salutacions,

El passat 13 de desembre hi va haver alguns canvis de responsabilitats dins la junta de l'APIMA, amb noves incorporacions i algunes baixes de pares i mares. L'objectiu d'aquesta nova junta es treballar de la manera més eficaç en benefici dels nostres fills i de la qualitat de l'ensenyament al nostre centre, però perquè això sigui possible necessitam la col·laboració de tots els pares i mares, tot mirant de superar les desavinences que han sorgit últimament. Creiem que es important propiciar una estreta col·laboració amb el professorat per tal que gaudeixin de la motivació i confiança necessàries per continuar el bon desenvolupament educatiu de la nostra escola. No voldríem que totes aquestes bones intencions es quedessin només en paraules sinó que la bona convivència entre els pares i entre els pares i els professors sigui una realitat quotidiana.

La millora d'algunes infraestructures del centre serà també un del nostres objectius, esforç que realitzarem conjuntament amb el director de l'escola. A la darrera reunió de la junta vàrem decidir nomenar un representant de l'APIMA per a cada curs, de manera que pogueu fer arribar les vostres propostes i suggeriments al pare o mare encarregat del curs dels vostres fills. Properament us passarem els contactes.

Aprofitam també per a informar-vos que ja s'ha incorporat una nova persona per substituir na Cristina al servei de biblioteca i poder continuar amb aquesta exitosa activitat, així com una nova monitora per a l'escola matinera, que ha habilitat una nova aula degut al major numero de nins que hi acudeixen. Quedam a la vostra disposició pel que necessiteu.

Walking through the aisles, I see all the choices that I have in life. I see everything out there, things I love, things I can't get a tastebud hold of yet, and things I have never even tried yet. There are always new methods of applying ingredients and new tools to use into my food preparations.

I look closely at the labels, I notice the ingredients. Some things are manufactured in a lab with polysyllabic ingredients while others are nothing more than water, vinegar, sugar, and plum tomatoes. The best things in life can be pretty simple, it turns out.

I can go any supermarket and love it. Even the lower caliber ones have different pricing and unfamiliar brands. The more ethnic types have fish and vegetables I've never heard of, I saw crabs in a bucket that were surprisingly moving at the H&Y Korean Supermarket the other day. The smells in the fish area are even welcoming, anything that uses my senses are welcomed. It's nice to distract yourself with a sensation from a thought sometimes.

My favorite for two years has been Fairway. The quality is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and I find something new every time. The aisles are spacious, I can stroll around, arms behind my back, and just look at all the possibilities out there. The cheese is especially fun to experience. You may find tasting days when they have the cheeses out in samples. It's a lot of fun to cheeses you normally wouldn't, to read the labels and think about what you are eating and why it tastes a certain way. It's not often you use your brain with your mouth's senses.

Take a look at the circular. The layout of a circular is very interesting. Which items are they pushing, which are they promoting, which are they getting rid of? The temporal holiday and post-holiday items are always worthy of a quick look, but I know easter is all crap but the jewish holidays are the most fun (food-wise).

I don't always buy something. It's consumption of a different form.

El passat dimarts dia 5 de febrer es va celebrar la vetllada solidaria dins de la campanya contra la fam i de recollida de diners per la causa d’aquest any segons informa l’apartat de novetats de l’escola que podeu trobar clicant aquí on podeu trobar una mostra de fotografies de l’esdeveniment.

Per tots aquells que no us veu assabentar com és el meu cas, en els pròxims dies intentaré recopilar més informació per fer un petit resum. El projecte d’aquest any va destinat als nens de Moçambic. També intentaré recopilar més informació de com participa la nostra escola i us faré un resum.

De moment el que sé de Moçambic a nivell particular és que ser nen i haver nascut a Moçambic, és sinònim d’infantesa robada, quatre dades: Segons el darrer informe de l’UNICEF:

• El 49% dels nens i nenes pateix carències greus en subministrament d’aigua
• El 47% no té inodors a prop de casa seva;
• El 24% dels nens i nenes de 7 a 18 anys no han anat mai a l’escola;
• El 17% dels menors de cinc anys mai ha estat vacunat;
• El 6% viu en condicions de amuntegament.
• Mes de 1.000 nens desapareixen a l’any per causa segurament del tràfic d’òrgans.

Circular 002 / 2008

Because I'm a huge nerd, I've made a video outlining how I, personally, do my swatches in the round. Any other ideas will be appreciated! Feel free to take a look. I recorded this video with my camera, and I know its a little blurry - but hopefully it gets the idea across. Also? I sound like a giant dork, AND I broke one of the cardinal rules of audio recording, as I've got gum in my mouth and sound like a mouthbreather. Think of it as a test video - I had fun doing it, and I might do another one (but PROBABLY in daylight, without gum in my mouth, and I'll let Jason shoot it).

A few notes:

1 - I do swatch in the round on DPNs as well, but you have to cast on for a much larger swatch than usual, because otherwise, the fabric tends to warp a bit.

2 - Try to pull your yarn tight at the end of a row - but make sure to have your floats be nice and loose in back, otherwise, you'll just have a badly done tube, and measuring will be a pain.

3 - I've noticed that this technique doesn't work so hot on lace, or rather, laceweight yarn with a lace pattern - I tend to use it for DK weight and above.

El proper dia 8 de març la nostra escola té Jornada de Portes Obertes per a tots aquells que el curs vinent vulguin cursar-hi estudis.

La jornada és per a tots els nivells: Infantil, Primària, ESO i Batxillerat i l'horari a partir de les 10 del matí.

Cada dia ens guarnim d'una manera diferent per fer gresca i xerinol.la, així dilluns anavem enjoiats, dimarts amb ulleres o antifaç i dimecres amb la cara pintada de colors ben llampants. Què tocarà dijous?

I finalment divendres, 1 de febrer amb la Gran Rua pels carrers del barri. Per cert aquesta serà a les 16:00, apunteu-vos-ho  a l'agenda !!

La ciutat també es prepara pel Carnaval i a partir de dijous 31 de gener, Dijous Gras, comencen totes les activitats. Si voleu veure quines són cliqueu a sobre de la imatge.

 Please refer to our earlier circular dated 4 Sep 07 on the mandatory electronic payment scheme. We wish to remind all that from 1st Jan 2008, we shall be implementing mandatory electronic payment for fees for waiver applications and lodgement of Minor Addition and Alteration (MAA) works. As from the date, SCDF will not accept cheque payment for such applications.

The applicant could pay via any of the following electronic means:

• NETS
• Cashcard
• Credit Card
• GIRO
• Flexi-pay
• JAV (Government agencies who are NFS users can continue to pay via JAV)

SCDF will process the applications only after the full requisite fees are paid. The application will be rejected if payment is not received within four weeks from the date of acknowledgement letter.
