Attualmente ci troviamo in un periodo di crisi, non solo economico, ma anche istituzionale. La Politica e le istituzioni in generale continuano infatti a perdere credibilità. Nel nostro paese è pressoché assente un’opposizione al Governo (fatta eccezione per il partito di Antonio DiPietro) e sono incredibilmente tutti in sintonia. Ma perché succede tutto ciò? Perché le persone eleggono i loro rappresentanti e dopo soli 5 mesi ci si trova in questa situazione?

Beh innanzitutto va premesso che attualmente gli italiani hanno perso il diritto di eleggere un suo rappresentante; noi tutti siamo costretti a votare un simbolo o una coalizione con un leader che deciderà per noi chi saranno i membri di un governo non più eletto democraticamente.

Pensate ad esempio che se alle elezioni del 2006 Prodi ci avesse informato prima, che avrebbe dato il Ministero della Giustizia a Clemente Mastella, la sua coalizione avrebbe vinto? Per non parlare delle scorse elezioni…

Detto questo, a tutto il resto ci pensa il Governo stesso, che con la politica del nascondere e del distrarre, di fatto fa gli interessi di pochi. Che significa “politica del nascondere”?

Innanzitutto va premesso che il Premier Berlusconi è in alcuni casi proprietario e in altri casi comunque controlla, quasi tutta l’informazione del nostro paese. E facile intuire dunque che se le cose che succedono non vengono poi fatte pubblicare, è come se non siano mai successe. Loro ci fanno vedere e ci informano solo di ciò che gli è conveniente in quel momento, tutto il resto, ci viene nascosto.

Un esempio recente e veramente eclatante è quello dei rifiuti in Campania. Un bel giorno il Premier si è vantato del miracolo Napoletano e dal giorno più nessun Tg e nessun giornale ha più affrontato quel problema. Internet e le TV satellitari libere ci dicono e ci documentano il contrario. I rifiuti sono stati raccolti solo dalle zone “IN” di Napoli, nel resto della città e in provincia, la situazione è ancora di emergenza, solo che nessuno ne parla. La Campania con i suoi problemi è stata abbandonata perché non era più utile ai fini dei consensi e dell’elettorato.

Ultimamente mi son chiesto come mai si stesse parlando così tanto del problema della sicurezza, degli immigrati e della scarsa integrazione con gli Italiani. Questi temi riempiono ormai da giorni tutte le prime pagine dei Tg e dei Giornali. I temi affrontati sono di primaria importanza, ma in questo clima di scetticismo, questa è stata la prima cosa che mi son chiesto.

Ebbene è bastato approfondire un pochino la ricerca  per capire che non erano del tutto infondati i miei dubbi.

Mentre nelle prime pagine si parlava di sicurezza, il Governo preparava il cosiddetto “Lodo Alfano”.  Lodo che in pratica protegge e dà l’immunità alle 4 più alte cariche dello stato. La  Giurisprudenza dice che la legge è uguale per tutti, ma per il Governo ci sono 4 persone che sono più uguali degli altri. In seguito il resto dei Ministri propose un altro Lodo che di fatto tende a dare l’immunità anche a tutti loro, perché naturalmente non sarebbe giusto che solo 4 persone abbiano l’immunità, e dunque invece di abrogare e cancellare il Lodo Alfano decidono di farsene uno pure per loro (Lodo Consolo)

In tutti questi giochetti di potere l’unica opposizione è stata fatta da Antonio DiPietro e dai componenti dell’Italia dei Valori, che indignati e delusi da questi ultimi eventi propongono l’11 Ottobre una raccolta di firme in piazza Navona a Roma (a cui seguiranno tantissime altre città) contro queste ingiustizie “ad personam”.

Sosteniamo L’italia dei Valori anche attraverso il Blog  www.antoniodipietro.it affinché continui a lottare per una politica più giusta, per non essere risucchiati del tutto nell’incantesimo Berlusconiano.

L’unico modo per svegliarci è conoscere.

Il terremoto finanziaro che negli ultimi giorni ha colpito duramente il sistema bancario americano e che è arrivato anche in Europa e purtroppo anche in Italia è pesantissimo.
Nei miei post mi piace sempre scherzare ed essere ironico, ma oggi proprio non c'è niente da ridere.

Fino a qualche settimana fa questa buffera sembrava toccarci solo da lontano, col passare dei giorni l'incubo si è fatto sempre più concreto anche da noi, con la crisi di Unicredito e le visioni pessimistiche su molti istituti bancari italiani.

Due settimane fare un pronti contro termine (o un supersave di fineco) sembrava la cosa più sicura possibile, sta mattina per televisione il telespettatore chiedeva (e se devo essere sincero questo ragionamento lo facevo già col mio socio qualche giorno fa!) se i 103 mila euro garantiti dal sistema interbancario sono a persona o a contocorrente, giusto per capire se aprire più conti correnti può essere un modo per dormire la notte!

Oggi che sono particolarmente turbato e arrabbiato per questa situazione, mi chiedo come mail visto che nella blogosfera si parla di tutto, in tutti questi mesi non ci sono state delle avvisaglie o delle premonizioni (magari ci saranno anche state ma SONO PASSATE INOSSERVATE!) relative a questa crisi che si stava per scatenare!!!

Come mai nel web 2.0 dove si diffondono in maniera virale i video di youtube, le foto di flickr, i post più interessanti dei blog ecc.ecc. non si ha lo stesso effetto per cose importanti come queste?!!?

Perchè alla fine utilizziamo le tecnologie solo per socializzare e per parlare di cazzate e non si sfruttano le potenzialità della rete per anticipare e se possibile evitare crisi mondiali come quella delle banche!?!?
Perchè i blogger che lavoravano in Leman Brother o in Merry Linch (perchè sicuramente tra i dipendenti ci sarà stato qualcuno che curava un suo blog personale!) non si sono sentiti in dovere di parlare di cosa stava succendendo e di quali potrebbero essere state le conseguenze?

Alla fine di argomenti scomodi si parla solo in modo ipercritico ed ironico in blog come quello di Beppe Grillo che nonostante abbia tutta la mia stima (se non altro perchè è uno dei blog migliori del mondo), diciamocelo, alla fine non viene preso sul serio dalla maggioranza delle persone perchè etichettato come un comico ribelle e comunque uno che fa dello spettacolo su delle informazioni che potrebbero anche essere vere.

Che dire? Oggi sono veramente deluso! Deluso dalla finanza, dalla politica ma anche dal web... da un web che funziona bene solo per l'intrattenimento e il business, ma che come gli altri media non riesce a portare a galla questioni veramente importanti.... la trasparenza è ancora un miraggio!

Well I used to play Club Penguin. Ran a blog of it. (hint hint nudge nudge wink wink). And Runescape. Ran a CP army. But that all changed in January. I started to hate the game. Then quit in April.

Affected: People new to blogging, particularly users over 30.

Fix: Call it a freaking POST. Blogs are made of posts.

So first the forward.  I, as a Mac user, have a me.com account.  If you use me.com with a combination of iWeb, you can build your site there.  Once you upload your site to iWeb, what you can then do is simply go in iDisk, look for the web -> sites director and in there you'll see an index.html.  If you edit the index.html to forward to your blog on wordpress, then you'll effectively have the www as your root domain for your wordpress blog.  Just try it with this one:  http://www.therecordingroom.com.  Now, keep in mind that if you ever publish your iWeb site again, the index will change, so you'll break that.  So while not a total solution, it is nevertheless a workable one that is reliable.  You can try that with many different free hosting services of course.

Second, as I wanted to have my home page show up first, as opposed to my blog, you can easily set that up in wordpress 2.5 under Settings -> Reading and then choose what page is the page you show, and what page is your blog page.  As per the instructions, you just create a blank blog page in wordpress and set that as your blog reading page in the Reading section.  Then setup a Home page with what ever you want in there, and set that as your start page and voila.  However, there remains a problem:  Some of the templates on the wordpress site will show a double Home tab at the top or even in the Navigation Widget.  There are many suggestions on how to make that work properly around the web, but I found that even with those solutions, the highlighting of tabs gets all screwed up where essentially you get 2 tabs highlighted.  I get around that in a bit of a funny way, but it works.  here is how:

Create a page and call it hidden.

Create a sub page for your Home.

Publish both.

Then go to Settings -> Reading and make the Home page your main page

Edit the hidden page and mark it as unpublished and save.

When you look at your home page now, you'll see the tabs, and when you go to other pages the highlighting is OK.

This works like that thanks to the fact that WordPress doesn't seem to update the preference of which page is your home page regardless of its published status (bug?).  So if you first set the hidden page to unpublished, and then add the Home page under it, you won't be able to choose it in the dropdown of which page is your main page.  However, if you first publish the hidden page, then hide it, the setting for which page is your Home Page doesn't get affected... until you go in and try to change it again.

Kludgy in both cases, but it works well.

The other day after I got done with my walking and working out on my exercise bike, I thought I'd experiment. Usually, I ice immediately after any exercise. This time – I didn't. I was curious to see what the effects of not icing would be on my total knee replacement recuperation.

First of all, after exercising:

My bionic knee was not swollen nor painful.

The flexibility was very good after exercising.

I felt like I had a good workout.

I was very proud of myself.

Fast forward a couple of hours, after not icing:

My knee was more swollen than usual.

My knee was stiffer than usual.

There were more lingering pains than I had experienced before.

I experienced pain in the middle of the night.

I could not sleep properly, due to this pain. (I usually don't have pain during my sleep time)

I was not a happy camper.

Moral of story: Icing is necessary after a workout on a tkr knee – even seven months after surgery.

I don't know what it is about topicality or even just the idea of a separate sphere of reference for a separate sphere of thinking, but I write very differently across all my blogs.  It's intriguing to say the least.

I'm teaching myself CSS and maybe doing other naughty things I shouldn't do, like paying for hosting or looking around at blog templates.  I'd like to do something more personal yet more public.  I dun know.  It's all abstract at this point but at least I have a very concrete goal.

We'll see.

"I've been busy in the studio," he wrote, "and right now I'm working on a mix tape, along with 'Tha Carter IV'. The mix tape you can expect real soon. And then right after that, I'm putting that same mix tape out with 20 extra songs for free on my website," said Lil'Wayne in a recent post on his ESPN blog.

Once again, I think this guy's timing is unbelievable, as he'll probably release it long after Kayne, 50, and Jay-Z will dropped their latest albums. As I said once before in another of my posts, Lil' Wayne is one smart rapper.

Speaking of weight, I'm on a health regimen. I went on one before, lost weight and felt great. Then I got lazy (GOT lazy?) and stopped exercising. Guess what? Gained weight. So I'm back on track. I'm starting out slow, which is how I did it before. Sometimes people start out trying to do too much right at first and hurt themselves or burn out. Me, I do pitiful little bits of exercise and increase it as I get stronger. I'm looking forward to feeling good again. Feeling good isn't a deprivation, it's a gift, yes?

Part of it is eating well. I mean GOOD stuff! Anything that tastes good, just maybe a little bit less, a little bit less oil or butter but not NO oil or butter.

Got to go--I'm in the middle of doing the Educational Newsletter for Community Unity.
