Material:

• 1 cx de sapato
• Cola cascorez
• Caneta preta permanente
• Papel de parede ou tecido de algodão na cor bege
• Figuras egípcias para decoupar
• Tinta acrílica dourada, preta e  vermelha
• Dimensional dourada e azul turquesa
• Pátina glaze cobre
• Fita dourada
• Uma peça de bijouteria como puxador
• Verniz spray ou o verniz que tiver em casa

Modo de fazer:

1. Forre toda a caixa por dentro e por fora com o papel de parede ou o tecido, cole com a cascorez diluida em agua e alize com um cartão de banco, pois o papel é meio grosso, caso use o tecido, alise com a mão mesmo.
2. Para a decoupage eu usei um papirus velho que tinha em casa e recortei as figuras centrais e o pássaro,  os outros desenhos fiz a mão livre mesmo, inclusive a parte de baixo da caixa.
3. Não tem muito segredo para o desenho, utilize a régua para marcar pontinhos e depois é só ir seguindo os pontos com a canetinha permanente como se fosse um zig zag e assim vai formando o barrado, daí também é só usar sua criatividade.Ainda na base colei uma fita dourada com a cascorez.
4. Pinte o desenho com as cores combinando com a sua figura, eu usei aqui o dourado, vermelho, preto e a glaze cobre.
5. Na tampa fiz os desenhos com a caneta e depois pintei com a tinta acrílica dourada.
6. Contorne as figuras com a dimensional dourada para dar uma realçada e depois faça um barradinho com a dimensional turquesa e dourada.
7. Envernizei e coloquei o aplique de bijouteria que montei, as bolinhas turquesa que estão no medalhão eu fiz com a dimensional.

I went to Tusk last night -ooh, it's so perfect for Halloween. In fact, it's just beautiful all around with wonderful hidden grottos for cuddling with your significant ones, a skating pond with a few eerie shadows and then the marvelous castle - where Silent Sparrow is among the  retailers renting space. I had not planned to buy anything, but this outfit at the Silent Sparrow satellite store was too perfect for the setting to pass up. You could call it Serendipity.  In fact, you have to call it Serendipity because that's the name of the dress.

Like anything from Silent Sparrow, Serendipity is highly detailed with rich textures. This cream jabot is on the jacket layer and you can other options. The embroidery on the jacket is beautiful, the French Cuffs are perfect. You could spend a long time lingering over all the beautiful details that go into this outfit.

Tesla's Ziggy shoes fit the theme perfectly. Incidentally the pumpkins and leaves are for sale as a group for 95L in case you are looking for gorgeous Halloween decor.

The hair, Sasha from Bijou, has a nice Edwardian sensibility, though I think it would also work perfectly for a 50's or 60's retro outfit.

The slightly creepy Desidelia Skull skin that was a group gift from Free Speerit adds a nice Halloween touch.

I was so excited yesterday to see that Siddean Munro of SLink had released her new leather coats, and couldn't wait to try them out. I most certainly was not disappointed.

I was so excited yesterday to see that Siddean Munro of SLink had released her new leather coats, and couldn't wait to try them out.  I most certainly was not disappointed.

As you may recall, I was - and still am! - a big fan of the original coats, which I showed a few months ago.  Siddean mentioned at that time that a rework of the original coat was planned, but the Reloaded coat isn't just a rework, rather it's been totally reconceptualised.

Rather than the open design of v1, Reloaded is closed, snugly fastened with a zip, each tiny tooth visible, and wrapped round with a belt.  The chunky clasp of the belt is reflected in the neck closure, drawn tight so as to support the simply divine high neck to the back, standing proud to cover the nape.  And then of course, there's that keyhole neckline - very daring and hella sexy.  And the texturing... oh, the texturing!  Incredibly tactile, the grain of the hide is apparent in places, other spots rubbed smooth, hand stitching further defining the shape.  The lighting is great also, from the wrinkles on the torso to the highlighting at the bottom of the coat prims.

Now, Whimsy Winx featured this same coat earlier, and managed to restrain herself from gothing up.  Me?  I love to indulge!!  I chose this deliciously vampy pale toned skin from Sin Skins, the fabulous strapped Deimos boots from Dark Eden, slipped on some gloves so as to not leave evidence, and went off to lurk in the dark for a while!

But with five colours available (red, gold and brown not shown), I wanted to show just how versatile the style can be, and took myself off to a country house with natural makeup, again courtesy of SLink in the form of the beautiful Isabelle skin.  Add a pair of jeans and Digital Dragon's new Stream Line boots and I can look great whilst... directing the gardener!  In the pic below I've taken off the skirt prims to show off the sleek boots with the subtle circular design formed from metal eyelets both on the buckles and the side of the boot, and for that matter also reprised on the sole - great attention to detail!  This also demonstrates further versatility to the coat design, the jacket layer along with the sleeve and neck prims makes a great short jacket as an alternative.

Cashmere - the must luxurious and sensuous of knits. It is the epitome of YUM and PixelDolls have been doing cashmere right.

But first, let me just say something about PixelDolls because they along with Digit Darkes and Nyte & Day have a special place in my heart. They were the first three stores I shopped at after Gidge rescued me the day I met her and showed me there was more to Second Life than freebie dungeons.

Yes, she rescued me. I was so dumb I walked under a ramp and got stuck and couldn't figure out why I could not move and this sweet woman said, "I think you are trying to walk through a wall, dear." 

My first skirt was from Nyte & Day and it still can arm wrestle any skirt from anywhere. My first shoes were the Elphaba shoes from Digit Darkes and you know from this blog  that I trot those wonders out every chance I get. PixelDolls, though. Oh my, my first spree, my first buying lindens, my first fat pack. So affordable, how can you say no? And the rich jewel tones, who can resist?

I try to stay away, but like the temptresses they are, they put their irresistible pictures on the fashion feed and I see those rich jewel colors and think emerald, ruby, OCEAN!! but they outdid themselves this time, when I saw those lovely cashmere dresses, I didn't even wait until I got home from work. I signed on during lunch. How silly, they won't run out.

I added the jacket from Cachet because it's cold and I love how the squares in the weave of the dress are mimicked in the jacket's matte/shiny weave.

Most of my day was spent in my room doing homework.  At about 3:30, I headed out to a meeting and to my horror spotted this: (Warning: avert eyes!!)

Yeah...that is what you think it is. The guy showed up and moved his car a few short seconds after this picture was taken. I hope he took it out. :(

After my meeting I headed over to the Bijou (the best entertainment available in town)...and it started raining.

Later we went to dinner at China Star. The reason we wound up there was because though I orginally wanted to go to Zmariks...they no longer over the Z'Curry dish. I  know it is childish to stop going there just because of that...but seriously that was the only reason I ever went. I searched the board for a few minutes and then asked. She said the didn't offer it anymore and so I turned to Shima and said I didn't want to eat there. I wasn't trying to be rude, but I think I shocked the girl behind the counter.  How could they just stop offering it? I think I'm the only one on the planet who will care...but not more Zmariks. Instead we wound up at China Star which gave me a lot more curry for my monies. So much I wasn't able to finish...

• Tinta PVA nas cores: lilás, branca, violeta, amarelo;
• Base para artesanato;

• Pincéis;
• Lixa;

• Rendinha ou sianinha;
• Tinta relevo transparente (corfix);
• Verniz fosco.

Passo a Passo:

1. Aplique duas demãos da base para artesanato em toda a peça;
2. Após secagem, lixe e com o pincel aplique duas demãos da tinta lilás no mini-mancebo, menos nos “pinos”;
3. Pinte os “pinos” com a tinta branca e aguarde secagem;
4. Com o pinta-bolinhas e a tinta violeta, faça bolinhas nos pinos brancos;
5. Pinte o miolo das florzinhas, com a tinta amarela;
6. Com a tinta branca, pinte três florzinhas e com a tinta violeta pinte as outras três florzinhas e aguarde secagem;
7. Com um pincel macio, passe duas demãos do verniz fosco em toda a peça;
8. Cole a rendinha/sianinha na lateral da base do mini-mancebo e aplique as florzinhas na parte de cima;
9. Para finalizar, aplique a tinta relevo transparente somente nas pétalas das florzinhas e aguarde secagem total.

My old boyfriend Schrottvogel Wei has earned a good reputation for his swimsuits, but his main focus has been his custom surfboards. However, he is expanding his bikini line, launching his new store VOGEL with 59 new bikinis. Why 59? It just happened that way. Anyway, Vogel means bird, hence the adorable logo on the derriere and in the post title.

See, there's the little bird. And you can see the marvelous detail - the shadows on the string tie and even the little label.

Of course, this meant dragging out my old Storm Schmooz boots with the same iconic graphic.

I didn't have time to change for the dance later that afternoon, so I tossed on the ever reliable Hal*Hina cutest skirt in the world and a short jacket.

It should be open tomorrow on the Juicy Del Mar sim. As I post this, Vogel is studiously working on vendors and setting permissions and all that stuff. He's even too busy to flirt. You should always be able to flirt with ex-boyfriends, is my motto. And the same little bird tells me there will be freebies...

But what to wear when you can't wear hair?! Fear not, there are many options available to you. They're only L$50 each, and every single L$ goes to support Locks of Love, funding wigs for these sick children whose own families can't afford to provide them. Certainly a very worthy cause.

I find new-to-me stores all sorts of ways, from FashCon notices, reading about them here on the fashion blogs, or just wandering around a shopping district and discovering their fashionable goodness. But now I have  a new way to find out about designers and creators - tips from our blog readership. I got such a tip from regular reader Reverie Boucher who wanted me to check out her favorite store - Black Moon - as she felt it and its designer Vanilla Sola deserved more attention than they receive.

Now I don't know why, when the store is chock-a-bloc with outfits and accessories that are reasonably priced and affordable, I was drawn to one of the most expensive items..the 1920's Art Deco fantasy called Grand Opera.   Wouldn't Jospehine Baker have loved this dress? It comes with the works, 2 hats, shoes, a necklace, earrings and bracelets, three glitch options, 4 system skirt options and two pairs of stockings. The prim skirt comes with a resizer script and it worked beautifully. However, for those who find them difficult and annoying (me, usually) she offers a custom fitting option as well.  There are several iterations of this outfit - though not all - at my Flickr.

I thought the 1920's decadence of this outfit called for shooting an appropriately decadent den of iniquity like the opium-eater's lounge choice,  Flashman's. If only they would take care of the rat problem.

Now I wore Yak & Yeti's jewelry and enkything's shoes.  I liked the necklace and earrings well enough but SL was misbehaving and ignored my bling off instructions - though she included a notecard with bling control commands in the folder.  The shoes were well-made and I would have worn them but for a personal taboo of mine.  They are embellished with the crescent and star, the religious symbol of Muslims. Ever since the Dalai Lama made a personal plea several years ago asking non-Buddhist to stop wearing Tibetan prayer beads, I have made a point not to wear religious symbols whose significance and meaning are not authentically my own. I am not suggesting that everyone adopt that guideline, but for me, it's a personal rule.

So, I wore YAk & Yeti's lovely jewelry - all of which is free at their marvelous Tibetan store. Sadly, I noticed after I shot this outfit that I had not removed the bindi - a symbol signifying that one belongs to the Hindu faith - making me an accidental hypocrite. I thought I had removed it.  If I were really as vigilant as I should be about avoiding such religio-cultural appropriation, I would reshoot the photo.  Alas, I think laziness will trump anti-colonialism today.

More than one person has called me a pixel prude so imagine my surprise at myself when I opened a review box sent by a new designer with a new store (Jordanna Magic of Magic Kisses) and found myself most drawn to an extremely racy lingerie set. Totally not my style - but there was something about it that I liked.

Of course, I was never going to wear that bra on its own....and designer Jordanna Magic wisely put it on the shirt layer, allowing me to wear a tank underneath and make the bra become more of a bolero/vest. Then I could see why I really liked without the distraction of my distractions, so to speak. As you can see, the thin black strips that make this outfit do not disappear as they go over the shoulder. They maintain their width and substance as they curve around the curves. And look at the curves and the circles - the outline of the design applying the Golden Mean to please our eyes. That's why I liked it so much even though it comes from a design genre to which I pay little attention. 

So what else is wonderful about this top? It gives me the chance to wear this miniskirt from Drawmachine that I just adore again. 

Even better, it really suits these G Field shoes that I love, but haven't had a chance to wear yet. With the adornments on the shoes, the conches on the skirt, the rings on the bra and the circles in the jewelry, I guess you could say the outfit comes full circle. Yes, I admit it. I am a sucker for bad puns. 

I chose the Cat Makeup from Gala Phoenix's Classic line, because after all the last three posts have been mining Cat People for blog titles. Believe it or not, there are even more photos on my Flickr . I have tried three times to load properties on the stockings - to find the creator, but no luck, it keeps not loading the creator.
