Der Berliner Rapper Bushido kämpft gegen Raubkopierer – und hat dabei einen juristischen Sieg errungen: Ein Landgericht bestätigte eine einstweilige Verfügung gegen einen Rentner und andere Beschuldigte. Diese hatten sich für unschuldig erklärt und darauf verwiesen, dass Eindringlinge ihr WLAN-Funknetzwerk gekapert hätten.

Unter den Beschuldigen ist neben einer dreiköpfigen Familie auch ein Rentner, der vor Gericht erklärte, Bushido gar nicht zu kennen. Außerdem habe er kein Programm, um Musik aus dem Internet herunterzuladen. Ein Ehepaar gab außerdem an, dass zur fraglichen Zeit nachweisbar niemand an ihrem Computer gewesen sei. Einer der Verteidiger merkte vor Gericht an, dass möglicherweise Dritte die unverschlüsselte, drahtlose Internetverbindung (WLAN) seiner Mandanten missbraucht hätten. [link..]

Ihnen sei vorzuwerfen, ihr WLAN nicht mit einem Passwort geschützt zu haben. Deshalb wird gegen die Computerbesitzer jetzt auch noch strafrechtlich ermittelt.

Ein Kommentar unter dem Artikel spiegelt sicher die Meinung vieler wieder:

Ansonsten schockiert mich das Urteil wirklich, ich kenne da Betreiber eines Hotels die kostenloses Wlan zur Verfügung stellen. Sind die dann etwas auch verantworlich dafür wenn sich einer der Gäste eine Raubkopie zieht ?

Sieht ganz danach aus, "Rechtssprechung nur noch im Sinne der Lobby".

How much smaller can a newspaper sheet get before it becomes a newspaper chit?

From 60-inch web presses (the old Wall Street Journal or The Hindu) which generated very wide 15-inch by 22¾ front pages, we have come down to acceptable 54-48 inch web presses which generate 12½ to 13½ inch front pages (New York Times).

Broadsheets (like The Times, London) which didn't want the label of tabloid went for a "compact" format, while others like The Guardian, went for an in-between "Berliner" size.

Publishers have passed off each new size in the name of good design, ease of use, diminishing attention span, doing less better, etc, although the most compelling reason---the rising cost of newsprint and the need to cut costs---was the most decisive factor, but rarely revealed to the reading public.

But can we cut the newspaper size even further?

Juan Antonio Giner of Innovation Media believes so. His company, in collaboration with with Bermer and Company, has unveiled what it claims is a "new format" for newspapers, at the 2008 World Association of Newspapers meet.

Called 3030, Giner says it's not a concept for the newspaper of the future, but the newspaper for today.

How much longer before somebody cuts 3030 into half, and how much of a "new format" would that be?

And how much longer will publishers and designers dance to the tune of accountants and auditors without tackling the core reason for the diminishing returns, which is content?

In the end, there was nothing?

Nors vyriausiasis redaktorius Liudas Dapkus videoreportaže sakė, kad dienraštis taps patrauklesnis skaitytojui, bus aiškiau suprantamas, nes rubrikos nuo šiandien skirstomos spalvų kodais, vis dėlto - didžiosios dalies esamų dienraščio skaitytojų nuomonė - neigiama.

Taip, tabloidas reiškia tai, kad laikraštis trim centimetrais mažesnis. Okay, aišku. Tačiau kaip keisti dizainą taip smarkiai, kad paėmus į rankas dienraštį nesusietum jo su buvusiu "Lietryčiu"?

Emmm.. Pagal žurnalistinę teoriją - tabloidas nėra tas pats, kas bulvaras. Vis dėlto, atrodo, kad "Lietrytis" virto ne tabloidu, o paprastu bulvaru. Jau geriau būtų likęs taip vadinamo Berliner formato dizainas. Tik trim centimetrais mažesnis.

Nežinau, ką manot jūs, bet tiek mano, tiek mano kambariokių (visos mes žurnalistės) nuomonė labai neigiama. Kaip čia taip "Verslo žinios" sugebėjo pakeisti formatą ne taip skausmingai, kaip "Lietrytis"? Ir ar pasiteisins šita investicija? Pamatysim ateityje. Kol kas tie, kurie prenumeruoja, žada elgtis drastiškai ir prenumeratos atsisakyti.

I'm so angry right now it's hard to even write this. What is wrong with people. During a guest analysis spot on Fox News, Washington Times correspondent Liz Trotta said she wished Barack Obama dead. If you haven't seen this, a video clip is below. This happened during an analysis of Hillary Clinton's  RFK faux paus the other day. I'm not an Obama supporter and this makes me angry. How can anyone WANT to see violence done on anyone, let alone a candidate. If you don't like them you don't vote for them. If the vote doesn't go your way, that's the way the game is played. You don't wish them dead, or worse yet take matters into your own hands. Fox news, not fair and balanced, insane and weird. I worked as a journalist for nearly 30 years and I had an opinion about a lot of things but I always took care to keep it OUT of my reporting.  This is incredibly irresponsible and inflamatory. Liz Trotta, has of course lamely apologized on Fox calling it "an attempt at humor," but the damage is still there. She said it and it's out there. People listen to this network. For the life of me I don't know why. I'm even doubly puzzled now. Fox has a responsibility and so does Trotta. You're suppossed to report the news, not call for the death of one of the democratic candidates. She criticizes Hillary Clinton up and down, then says something like this and then tries to pass it off as humor in an apology. You're a sick hippocrite, you should get professional help. You should be banned from the media, for life! The other thing that I find appalling is that U.S. media is NOT reporting this story. I actually found this story in British media who referred me to YouTube. The American media jumps all over Clinton for what may actually have been an honest error, but they ignore something from one of the foremost watched news networks. Fair and Balanced?

POLICE MAKE STORE OWNER GIVE BACK SHOES OF SHOPLIFTERS

 A liquor store owner in Durango, Colorado is tired of repeat offenders coming into his store and shoplifting. When he catches a shoplifter he makes them give him a shoe so they will be embarrassed and not come back. I think it is a very creative solution to an ongoing problem. The Durango police disagree. They have told him to knock it off or they are going to prosecute him for felony robbery. Now the shoe is on the other foot so to speak. Shoplifting is a misdemeanor which means that the store owner would be prosecuted harder than the thieves for protecting his store. That's pretty backward. The owner, Gabe Fidanque, was ordered to return the shoes to their owners, if he can find them. Police Captain Micki Browning says the store owner should "find a different option that doesn't involve giving up property."  Findanque found that the thieves would return within hours of turning them over to police. "That's the whole point of it. They're too humiliated to come back and ask for their shoe, and that also means they won't steal again," Fidanque said. Let's see the owner has found a non-violent solution to his problem that works and the police want to prosecute him for it. What is wrong with this picture?

MAN IN MORGUE FREEZER WITH DEAD GIRLFRIEND

A man in Taiwan has crawled inside a morgue freezer to try and commit suicide. Grieving over his girlfriend, he crawled into the compartment to be with her. He was found a half-hour later when workers noticed that the temperature in the freezer had gotten unusually high from an unlatched compartment. The girl had died from an overdose of sleeping pills. It appears that both of these folks were unstable. I feel bad for the morgue worker that had to deal with this.

WOMAN MARRIES BERLIN WALL

I wonder if this woman just couldn't get a date. Eija-Ritta Berliner-Mauer, a 54-year-old woman from Liden, Sweden claims to have married the Berlin Wall back in 1979 and changed her surname to German for Berlin Wall. I wonder what priest performed this ceremony.  She says she finds objects more appealing than people and that she is convinced that she is not the only one that gets pleasure from the relationship. Yep, keep telling yourself that. How do you get concrete turned on. What if it calls you another wall's name. "Harder harder, oh Great Wall of China you're so good." OK, I'm baffled with this. "I find long, slim things with horizontal lines very sexy," she says. OK, hot for concrete. That's....different. So what's this called cementaphilia? Since her "lover" was torn down after the cold war she keeps a model of the wall in her home. I guess at least you don't have to listen to it complain. I hope she's good at one sided conversations.

MICHAEL JACKSON LIKES ULTIMATE FIGHTING

Ok, I put this in because this is so stupid. Michael's always so good for that. Saturday night he went to the UFC Tito Ortiz fight trying to be not noticed. He didn't succeed. For one thing he arrived in a wheel chair and had his face covered in a shroud. Check out the photo below. I think looking like this would only attract attention. I know I'd be wondering who's the yo-yo dressed like a dope. Arriving in the wheelchair isn't real incognito either. Does that mean he got the handicapped parking? It seems to me he attracts more attention when he's trying not to attract attention. The dude has issues. Is he a dude? I thought UFC is for people that actually have testosterone.

1. "Ich bin ein Berliner" sagen nur Leute, die nicht aus Berlin kommen. Das ist schon allein dadurch belegt, dass der Mann, der mit diesem Satz berühmt wurde, aus Brookline, Massachusetts, USA kam.

2. Berliner heißen in Berlin Pfannkuchen und haben mit pan cakes oder dergleichen nichts zu tun. Es handelt sich dabei eher um ein kugelrundes Kalorienbömbchen. Und mal ehrlich, wer möchte schon von sich behaupten, dass man aussähe wie ein mit Zuckerguss überzogener faustgroßer gebackener Teigball?

3. Berliner finden immer einen Grund, unzufrieden zu sein. Das scheint in Berlin so etwas wie der soziale Kitt zu sein, denn vom bunthaarigen Punk aus Friedrichshain bis zur Wilmersdorfer Witwe, vom lokalen Partykid bis zum Beamten in gehobenem Dienst ist allen der Wesenszug des Meckerns und Beschwerens über Nichtigkeiten gemeinsam.

Aber noch kurz zu einer Aussage, die nicht stimmt:
"Berliner sind arm, aber sexy."
Dies ist ein Widerspruch in sich selbst und trifft überhaupt nicht zu. Die armen Berliner sind nicht wirklich sexy und die sexy Berliner müssten erst durch Genmanipulation entwickelt werden, denn wer permanent meckert, ist nicht sexy.

Diese Stadt wird auch ohne mich glücklich werden.

Jedenfalls glaube ich, dass es ein Krampf war. Jedenfalls hoffe ich, dass es ein Krampf war, und nichts schlimmeres!

Natürlich weiß ich, was Du nun denkst. Da fängt dieser schwere Kerl gerade wieder frisch an, und übernimmt sich sofort. Aber so war’s nicht. Es lief ganz gut. Es war kalt aber klar, hell – bzw. früh genug, dass ich im Wald laufen konnte. Und ich war guter Dinge. 32 Minuten war ich unterwegs und es sollte auch nicht viel mehr werden, ich war auf dem Rückweg. Dort geht’s an einer Stelle allerdings ziemlich steil bergab und da erwischte es mich! Ein stechender Schmerz in der linken, unteren Wade. Nicht kurz sondern anhaltend, krampfig eben, aber so stark, dass er sich nicht ausdehnen lies.

Laufen ging nicht mehr. Erst ging nur humpeln, dann immerhin normales, flotteres gehen. Zum Glück, denn es war kalt und ich war verschwitzt. So blieb es bei 32 Minuten. Die Wade schmerzt nach wie vor, ist aber nicht dick. Ich hoffe, dass sich das in zwei Tagen erledigt hat.

  32 Minuten im Wald, nachmittags, es war knackig kalt
• Ernährung:
  Ziemlich gesund, mit Obst am Morgen und einer Gemüsepfanne als Abschluß. Allerdings ist eine kleine Sünde zu verzeichnen: Ein kleiner Berliner zum Kaffee. Und die Literflasche O-Saft hätte ich vielleicht auch nicht komplett leer machen sollen.

Wenzel Fuchs. De la banda a la Filarmónica con el clarinete

Cuando Wenzel Fuchs (1963, Innsbruck) tocaba el clarinete por esos pueblos perdidos de los Alpes austriacos no imaginaba que acabaría formando parte de la mejor orquesta del mundo. Pero aquellas músicas de raíces populares que interpretaba con las bandas de viento por las localidades de los alrededores de Innsbruck hicieron calar en él una vocación que le acompañaría toda su vida. A los 19 años debutó como solista de la orquesta de la Volksoper de Viena y en 1993 ingresó en Berlín. Ya es de los veteranos, y ahora está volcado en la educación. Enseña en la academia de la Filarmónica, en la Universidad de Sakuyu (Japón) y en el conservatorio de Shanghai.

Del clarinet solista de la Filharmònica de Berlín també podem destacar la seua curta discografia (tinc problemes amb la connexió, quan puga penjaré la seua discografia).

Finalment, vos penge l'únic vídeo que he trobat al youtube on apareix com a solista. És un enregistrament molt cutre i cassolà, però no hi ha res millor. Si realment voleu veure'l en acció, podeu vore vídeos al youtube o en DVDs de la Filharmònica de Berlín dels últims anys.
