<p>Semua barang bawaan untuk bekal liburan Anda sudah dimasukkan ke dalam koper. Ugh... tapi Anda harus berkeringat, bahkan sampai menduduki koper tersebut pada saat ingin menutupnya! Wait... there's smarter way to save Your energy. Check this first before you pack.<!--more--></p>
<p>1. Lipat melipat<br />
Melipat baju juga butuh trek yang tepat. Gulung T-shirt dari bawah ke atas agar menghemat tempat. Atau bisa juga lipat dua -terutama untuk atasan dan dress, selipkan tissue paper untuk menghindari kerutan serta lipatan. Trek lainnya, susun atasan yang gampang kusut dan taruh jeans atau celana yg tidak gampang kusut di atasnya.</p>
<p>2. Susunan pintar<br />
Urutkan penyusunan baju sesuai jadual harian Anda. Daripada harus membongkar koper hanya untuk mengambil baju paling bawah yang akan dipakai di hari pertama, lebih baik urutkan pemakaian berdasarkan aktivitas harian. Atau bisa juga menyusun shirt, dress dan pan.</p>
<p>3. Maksimalkan bawaan<br />
Masukkan celana dalam ke dalam laundry bag atau di kantong bagian samping. Atau bisa juga diselipkan ke dalam cup bra untuk menjaga bentuknya tetap sempurna.</p>
<p>4. Minimalkan tempat<br />
Bawa atau tuang berbagai peralatan mandi ke dalam kemasan atau botol kecil. Sisakan sedikit ruang dalam kemasan, untuk menghindari isi botol tumpah. Masukkan ke dalam toiletries bag tahan air, agar rapi dan tidak mengotori baju serta perlengkapan lainnya.</p>
<p>5. Urusan kaki<br />
Masukkan sepatu ke dalam kantong khusus. Atur agar sol atau hak sepatu disusun berlawanan arah. Jika membawa kaos kaki, masukkan ke dalam sepatu. Atau bisa juga membungkusuya secara terpisah dan tempatkan di tempat yang kosong.</p>
<p>6. Barang pecah belah<br />
Selipkan botol parfum ke dalam lipatan celana jeans atau jaket, agar tidak terbentur dan pecah selama di perjalanan.</p>
<p>7. Fungsikan si ikat pinggang<br />
Lingkarkan belt di sekeliling koper. Irit tempat, kan?</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Earlier in the day both teams had arrived at the Nikko and had been presented with a black box of ingredients without any prior knowledge of what would be inside and were told simply to create a three-course dinner. Executive chef from Bvlgari and Shangri-La were permitted to create the dinner menus and brief their respective teams, however, as captains they were not allowed any involvement at all in the preparation process.<!--more--></p>
<p>The prep was left entirely to the two three-man teams who spent much of the day filleting, braising, and reducing a variety of ingredients deep in the heart of the Nikko's main kitchen under the watchful gaze of adjudicator Alan Palmer who had flown in specifically from Sri Lanka for the event.</p>
<p>Close to seven in the evening the plates started to arrive at the restaurant tables in the main dining room whilst, tucked away in the back if the kitchen, a select group of eight chefs were blind tasting plates from both teams as another team of judges rated the presentation from both competing teams.</p>
<p>Although the final tally of of scores was a fairly close affair, the plates served by the Bali team compared favourably and noticably better than the rather average presentation and ill conceived dry, virtually sauce - less main course from the Shangri-La that cost them valuable points. "You need to keep it simpe," said Roland Lickert of Lamak and Warung Enak fame, "ccok only the dishes you know already, this is the key to winning dining competitions, and don't be too ambitious." Whilst neither team appreared to heed Roland's words of advice it was the Bvlgari team who manages to marry a variety of flavours together in each course whilst the Shangri-La simply tried too hard o be original and fell sadly short of the mark in every dish except the dessert.</p>
<p>By common consensus on our table the winning dish of the evening was the appetizer from Bvlgari, the Carrot, Citrus, and Vincetto Caciucco with seared scallops. The dish was an excellent combination of subtle flavorss and just a hind of tangy orange citrus to compliment the perfectly seared scallops. The boys stuck with a guaranteed winner for dessert serving a Hot Baked Valhorna Chocolate Moellaus and Vanilla Ice Cream combination; simple but expertly prepared.</p>
<p>The United Arab Emirates beckons the Bvlgari Bali team later this year as they step up to the international heats of the Black Box challenge being staged in Dubai, but not before a few words from the Continental Director of WACS (World Association of Chef's Societies) John Sloane criticized both teams for their lack of communication in the kitchen. "This is all about team work and I have not seen much evidence of tem work today. Coordination was sorely missing and there was not much atmosphere in the kitchen." John continued telling the Bvlgari team that they will need to work closely on their interpersonal skills if they are stand a chance later this year in Dubai.</p>
<p>Bvlgari have six months to tweak their performance in the kitchen before Dubai but in the meantime are no doubt very happy to be representing Bali and Indonesia as the reigning Black Box Culinary Challenge winners for 2008.</p>

<p>Apabila termasuk jasa pemandu wisata sebaiknya Anda meminta nomor handphone-nya atau kantor travel agent tersebut di kota tujuan. Hal ini untuk mendapatkan informasi dari pemandu atau mengantisipasi apabila ada penundaan perjalanan sehingga si pemandu bisa membantu mempersiapkan segalanya disana.</p>
<p>Pemandu yang profesional selalu siaga walaupun harus menunggu lama, dan biasanya membawa kertas atau papan bertuliskan nama Anda atau rombongan. Pemandu profesional juga bisa langsung mengenali ciri-ciri client-nya. Untuk rombongan sebaiknya keluarlah berbarengan di pintu keluar bandara maka guide Anda akan mudah mengenali Anda.</p>
<p>Jangan terlalu mengandalkan pemandu untuk mengurus barang bawaan Anda, pastikan semua barang Anda masuk ke mobil jemputan. Tunjukan bukti-bukti seperti voucher dan dokumen lainnya, jangan berikan dulu kepada pemandu sampai Anda check in di hotel dan masuk ke kamar untuk memastikan kalau semuanya sesuai schedule tour.</p>

Juga memiliki ide kreatif yang bisa membuat suasana perjalanan menjadi menyenangkan, mengerti jalan-jalan alternatif untuk menghidari macet, tepat waktu mejalankan rencana tur dan sepanjang perjalanan selalu memberikan informasi mengenai daerah yang dilaluinya. Disamping itu seorang pemandu yang berpengalaman juga memiliki wawasan yang luas tentang sejarah, budaya, dan kebiasaan masyarakat setempat.</p>
<p>Dalam perjalanan pemandu yang baik biasanya memberitahu Anda tujuan tur anda. Disamping itu Anda akan ditawari untuk mampir di tempat perajin untuk melihat bagaimana membuat berbagai kerajinan. TRISAKTI symbolizes the three sources of power of the three Indonesian art maestros Srihadi Soedarsono, Nyoman Gunarsa, and Made Wianta <span> </span>who have been existed in several decades. With their worldly known masterpieces, they have brought Indonesia to the new level of acceptance in the creative field. By then, we can capture an impression of unity that draws us into the silent meditation nuance.</span></span></p>

Through his artworks, we can feel burst of energy from his brush strokes and thick paints form rhythm in canvas. Through his exhibitions, in Indonesia and abroad, he’s such an experts converting the seemingly common objects into art<span>  </span>creations with a deep philosophical meaning. His unstoppable creative intuition, originated from his rubbing with environment and his journeys to many countries has enriched his experiences, has brought him entering different periods of creativity. His graphic imaginations encountered from his journeys to Japan, has brought Wianta into his calligraphy period in 1997. Nevertheless, one period is unable to stop his creativity.</span></span></p>

Wianta’s artworks consists of various dimensions and geometrical spaces that can also represent an approach towards the Balinese cosmic world.</span></span></p>

Au Nord Ouest de Lombok se truvent 3 iles minuscules et paradisiaques, les iles Gili. Au menu, plages de sable fin, eaux turquoises a 28 degres, plongee au milieu du corail. Une semaie difficile ou vous vous etes tapes des reunions de travail pourries et/ou perdu de l'argent en Bourse ? Quelques photos pour vous remettre de la <a title="Crise financiere et speculation" href="http://parisbali.wordpress.com/2008/09/30/crise-financiere-et-speculation/" target="_blank">debacle</a>... <!--more--></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Rien qu'avec masque et tuba au bord de la plage, la biodiversite est etonnante autour des large patates de corail. Les iles Gili sont plutot orientees sur la peche depuis qu'elles sont habitees, voici 55 ans. Mais le tourisme prend une telle importance que les clubs de plongee paient maintenant les pecheurs pour qu'ils preservent certaines zones... Le resultat est impressionnant. D'apres la plaquette du club de plongee de Celine, plus de 5500 especes sont recencees, et l'Indonesie represente 25% de la biodiversite coralienne !</p>

<p>Sebelum perjalanan</p>
<p>Cantumkan nama dan nomor telepon Anda serta tempat tujuan Anda di dalam dan di luar tas Anda.</p>
<p>Bawa barang seringan mungkin, kalau bisa hanya membawa sebuah tas yang kira-kira pas di simpan di bawah kursi tempat duduk Anda.</p>
<p>Jangan mengisi tas terlalu penuh atau padat. Hal itu akan membuatnya rentan rusak.</p>
<p>Pastikan tas Anda tidak punya tali pegangan atau cantelan yang bergelantungan yang dapat menyangkut pada sesuatu dan merusakan tas tersebut.</p>
<p>Pastikan berat bagasi Anda sesuai dengan aturan yang berlaku.</p>
<p>Simpan barang-barang berharga, obat-obatan, serta dokumen perjalanan dalam tas yang selalu Anda pegang (carry-on luggage).</p>

Mengenang Seabad A.A. Panji Tisna<br />

<p>PUJANGGA  A.A. Panji Tisna dikenang dalam sebuah acara peringatan karena sebagai sang  Pujangga, A.A. Panji Tisna telah menorehkan tinta emas dalam blantika perjalanan  sastra Indonesia modern khususnya dalam bentuk novel. Karya-karyanya selain  dinikmati dalam bentuk teks karya sastra, sebagian sudah ditransformasikan ke  dalam media seni lain, di antaranya dalam bentuk sinetron dan pertunjukan teater  tradisional (Arja). Sebagai sebuah sinetron karya A.A. Panji Tisna berjudul  Sukreni Gadis Bali sudah pernah ditayangkan oleh salah satu media televisi  swasta di Indonesia, dan terakhir Prof. Dr. Wayan Dibia mengangkat novel Sukreni  Gadis Bali dalam bentuk arja doyong yang telah dipentaskan di Puri Gede  Buleleng, Minggu, 10 Februari 2008.</p>
<p>Dalam acara serasehan seabad A.A.  Panji Tisna di Singaraja 10 Februari 2008 lalu terungkap wacana untuk  mensinergikan semua komponen guna memberi apresiasi positif terhadap A.A. Panji  Tisna secara proporsional. Sebagai sebuah ''mutiara'' yang dimiliki Bali,  sepantasnyalah semua elemen masyarakat Bali menempatkan A.A. Panji Tisna sebagai  pujangga yang memberi kontribusi memadai, khususnya sebagai spirit berkarya dan  sosok yang memiliki visi kultural untuk dapat menjadi bahan renungan dari  kerangka kekinian.</p>
<p>Kebesaran nama A.A. Panji Tisna tentu dapat dirunut  dari berbagai pembicaraan atau pembahasan dalam berbagai ruang diskusi, seminar,  serasehan, dan tentu saja karya telaah berupa esei dan kritik sastra serta  beberapa penelitian. Pembahasan terhadap karya-karya Panji Tisna dilakukan  diantaranya oleh Made Sukada, Jakob Sumardjo, Weda Kusuma, Merdhana, Ruba''I  dllnya. Maya Liem (2003) dalam disertasinya yang dipertahankan di Universitas  Leiden juga mengulas novel I Swasta Setahun di Bedahulu, namun dalam konteks  identitas dan modernitas di Bali. Dalam desertasi ini, dia melihat perkembangan  modernitas seperti tercermin dalam karya sastra penulis Bali, mulai dari  pembaruan yang ditunjukkan Geguritan Nengah Jimbaran (1903) karya Raja Badung  Tjokorda Made Denpasar, novel Panji Tisna (juga keturunan dan sempat menjadi  Raja Buleleng), sampai karya-karya Nyoman Rastha Sindhu. Liem malah menyebut  novel Panji Tisna sebagai novel yang bercirikan polyvocal dan bersifat hibrid  karena dalam teks novel I Swasta terdapat pantun Melayu yang terkontruksi dalam  deskripsi pokok naratif.</p>
<p>Sosok wanita dalam karya Panji Tisna diuraikan  oleh Darma Putra (2003). Paling sedikit Darma Putra membicarakan Panji Tisna  pada dua hal yang substantif, yaitu masalah bias gender, dan wanita Bali sebagai  korban modernisasi dan tradisi. Dari segi bias gender Darma Putra mengungkapkan  adanya citra wanita Bali yang negatif pada Ni Rawi Ceti Penjual orang dan  tertindas karena perkosaan dalam Sukreni Gadis Bali. Ni Rawit digambarkan  sebagai ceti, penjudi, penghisap madat, dan makelar budak. Tokoh Sukreni  disebutkan sebagai korban kolusi antara pemilik warung yang rakus (Men Negara)  dengan Mantri polisi yang amoral (I Gusti Made Tusan). Pada paparan Darma Putra  inilah terlihat jelas fokus pembicaaan potret wanita Bali dalam  sastra.</p>
<p>Perlu juga disebut dua tulisan tentang biografi Panji Tisna,  yaitu yang disusun oleh seorang sejarawan dari Australia Ian Celdwell (1085)  berjudul ''Anak Agung Panji Tisna, Balinese Raja and Indonesia Novelist,  1908-78'' dan buku karya seorang guru besar ekonomi sekaligus budayawan Bali, I  Gusti Ngurah Gorda (2005) berjudul Biografi Anak Agung Pandji Tisna. Keduanya  memberikan informasi yang cukup detil atas kisah hidup Panji Tisna, termasuk  beberapa poin tentang hubungan dan pandangan Panji Tisna tentang perempuan dan  nilai-nilai budaya Bali.</p>
<p>Di tengah ''keraguan'' sebagai orang akan  eksistensi Panji Tisna sebagai manusia kultural (akibat perpindahan agama dari  Hindu ke Kristen), Artawan (1993) menemukan kentalnya sensibilitas Panji Tisna  terhadap budaya Bali sebagaimana terefleksi dalam ketiga novelnya: Sukreni Gadis  Bali, Ni Rawit Ceti Penjual Orang, dan I Swasta Setahun di Bedahulu. Pergulatan  secara kultural yang intens dilakukan Panji Tisna sebagai masyarakat biasa  dengan lingkungannya mampu terekonstruksinya teks dengan muatan sosiokultural.  Kontribusinya bagi wacana pemahaman sosiokultural suatu etnis tidak saja  bertolak dari teks nonfiksi -- sebagaimana lazimnya -- tetapi melalui teks  fiksipun sebuah perjalanan dan kandungan material sebuah kultural dapat  dirunut.</p>
<p>Panji Tisna: Feminis dan Humanis<br />
Seringkali sebuah peringatan  suatu peristiwa atau tokoh ''berhenti'' pada euforia yang setelah itu tak ada  gemanya dan miskin pengendapan terhadap substansi mengapa kita memperingati  peristiwa atau tokoh. Peringatan satu abad Panji Tisna tentu saja dilandasi  muatan misi untuk menempatkan kapasitas sang Pujangga secara proporsional  sebagai milik publik sastra yang sejatinya harus dipahami secara komprehensif  bahwa keberadaan Panji Tisna dalam jagat sastra khususnya di Bali merupakan  kebanggaan dan spirit yang memiliki ''roh'' untuk menciptakan atmosfir bagi  tumbuh dan berkembangnya kehidupan bersastra di masyarakat. Panji Tisna tidaklah  semata-mata sebuah fenomena masa lalu yang berhenti pada peristiwa yang  menomental bahwa ada putra Bali yang menorehkan catatan emas dalam blantika  perjalanan sastra Indonesia sebagai salah satu tokoh Pujangga  Baru.</p>
<p>Feminis. Panji Tisna adalah fenomena yang secara terus menerus  menunjukkan interelasi dengan zaman. Ia menjadi inspirasi dan motivasi kreatif  bagi pengarang selanjutnya di Bali khususnya pengarang novel. Pembicaraan  terhadap Panji Tisna terkadang luput untuk melihat bahwa Panji Tisna adalah  seorang feminis yang merekonstruksi tokoh-tokoh wanitanya melakukan perjuangan  kultural dengan cara yang lain. Sesudah zamannya Panji Tisna -- era Putu Wijaya,  Oka Rusmini misalnya --, tokoh-tokoh wanita melakukan perjuangan kultural secara  reaktif berupa pemberontakan dan perlawanan budaya, khususnya soal adanya upaya  mensubordinasikan peran wanita, kasta, peran domestik, dan bahkan upaya  marginalisasi eksistensi wanita. Ketika tokoh Sukreni tidak melakukan perlawanan  terhadap perlakuan biadab yang dilakukan oleh Tokoh Gusti Made Tusan yang telah  memperkosanya akibat upaya persekongkolan tokoh-tokoh lain, Panji Tisna  dicurigai melakukan tindakan penistaan terhadap wanita. Namun ketika ada upaya  memahami teks secara menyeluruh, khususnya ketika Panji Tisna menyusupkan konsep  Karma Phala dalam konstruksi tematisnya, sesungguhnya keberpihakan Panji Tisna  kepada wanita sangat jelas. Panji Tisna melalui tokoh novelnya telah melakukan  sebuah perjuangan kultural untuk mematahkan dominasi paham patriarki yang dalam  beberapa hal banyak mengeliminasi peran wanita bahkan  mencabik-cabiknya.</p>
<p>Karya-karya Panji Tisna mendapat tempat di hati  masyarakat, salah satu Sukreni Gadis Bali (yang telah disinetronkan dan diadopsi  menjadi pertunjukan Arja Doyong). Pilihan mengangkat novel ini karena Panji  Tisna mengkronstuksi tokoh wanitanya bernama Sukreni sebagai sosok korban  kecongkakan kaum laki-laki. Sesungguhnya rasa simpati kepada nasib Sukreni ini  secara kreatif mampu dibangun oleh Panji Tisna dalam alur yang mengalir amat  memikat. Panji Tisna tidak sekadar memberi kesaksian bahwa ada kaum hawa yang  termarginalisasi dan diposisikan tersubordinat dari peran laki-laki, tetapi  melalui kerangka konsep Karma Phala akhirnya pelaku kekerasan seksual dan  kroninya mendapatkan hukuman yang setimpal dengan perbuatannya. Sebagai feminis,  sesungguhnya Panji Tisna memberi kesaksian atas realita nasib wanita ketika  karya itu diciptakan, bahkan masih ada wujud marginalisasi dan kekerasan  terhadap wanita sampai kini. Di sisi lain, Panji Tisna dalam penaruh simpati  pada nasib wanita tidak saja terkonstruksi melalui tokoh Sukreni, tetapi juga  pada tokoh Ida Gde Swamba, pacar Sukreni yang mau menerima Sukreni apa adanya  sekalipun sudah menjadi korban pemerkosaan. Hal ini terlihat dalam  dialog:</p>
<p>''Ah, Aseman! Boleh jadi begitu kata perempuan itu, tetapi engkau  tidak boleh bersembunyi-sembunyi kepadaku. Ingat, kalau ia mendapat sengsara,  siapa yang akan menolong dia? Aku kira, aku patut sekali... Sebab itu hendaklah  engkau tunjukkan, dimana dia sekarang. Aseman. Walaupun ia telah... rusak, tidak  berbeda padaku sekarang dengan dahulu. Sudah nasibnya demikian, tidak dapat  disalahkan kepadanya. Jika ia tahu apa yang akan terjadi atas dirinya pada malam  celaka itu...'' kata Ide Gde. (Sukreni, 1965: 112).</p>
<p>Humanis. Dengan  spirit kasih; salah satu bagian dari sikap humanis, tokoh laki-laki dalam novel  Sukreni Gadis Bali tersebut di atas, Panji Tisna ingin menggambarkan interelasi  yang teramat personal dari dua manusia berlainan jenis. Demikian juga terefleksi  dari sikap Sukreni pasca pemerkosaan atas dirinya ditunjukkan dengan kearifan  tanpa perlawanan yang reaksioner. Di beberapa novelnya, filosofi kasih  diembuskan Panji Tisna melalui konstruksi tokoh-tokoh cerita novelnya. Hal ini  menunjukkan eksistensi manusia sebagai mahluk ilahi memang sepantasnya dihargai  secara proporsional dalam kondisi dan level apapun.</p>
<p>Sebagai manusia  personal, Panji Tisna merupakan fenomena yang mengajarkan komunitas sesudah  eranya untuk bersikap sederhana dan berani mengambil sikap dengan segala  konsekuensinya. Ke luar dari ruang puri kemudian hidup dalam komunitas  ''jelata'' bernama kawasan Tukad Cebol 10 km dari kota Singaraja yang sekarang  dikenal dengan nama Lovina merupakan pilihan hidup yang lahir dari pertimbangan  intelektualitas humanisme seorang Panji Tisna. Dalam konstruksi teks sastra  Panji Tisna menampilkan wajah kejelatan masyarakat sekitarnya, dan menyindir  secara sateris kaum ningrat (terkonstruksi melalui tokoh Gusti Made Tusan)  menistakan kejelataan dengan arogansi melakukan pemerkosaan terhadap Sukreni.  Dan Panji Tisna mengkonstruksi tokoh Ni Rawit yang memainkan peranan antagonik  di ruang geria dengan permainannya sebagai ceti mendeskonstruksi kemapanan  dengan strategi kejelataannya.</p>
<p>Panji Tisna yang ningrat memilih hidup  sebagai sastrawan dan memilih hidup dalam komunitas masyarakat kebanyakan  merupakan fenomena yang sangat inspiratif bagi komunitas yang terkadang secara  instan ingin mencapai kualitas hidup pada tataran lebel atau status sosial  tertentu. Dalam perspektif kekinian sang Pujangga tidak saja menorehkan catatan  keteladanan dalam konteks kesastraan, tetapi dalam kerangka mendesain personal  untuk menjadi manusia kultural secara sederhana.</p>
<p>Bertolak dari fakta real  tentang sosok sang pujangga dalam blantika jagat sastra Indonesia, sebagai  ''mutiara'' yang dimiliki Bali, sebaiknya kita perlu merekonstruksi persepsi dan  sensibilitas kita terhadap Panji Tisna sebagai salah satu simbol kebanggaan  milik kita yang sepantasnya tidak saja diwarisi karya dan semangat kulturalnya,  tetapi bagaimana mendesain daya impresi kita untuk menghargai Sang Pujangga  secara  proporsional.</p>

<p>Hal tersebut dipaparkan Deputi Bidang Statistik Distribusi dan Jasa Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Ali Rosidi di BPS, Jakarta, Senin (6/10). "Dibanding Juli 2008, jumlah wisman Agustus 2008 mengalami kenaikan 5,67 persen," katanya.</p>
<p>Dia memaparkan, jumlah wisman yang datang melalui 11 pintu masuk utama pada Agustus 2008 naik 24,67 persen dibanding bulan yang sama tahun sebelumnya, yaitu 402.000 orang menjadi 501.200 orang. Sementara itu, jika dibandingkan Juli 2008, wisman yang datang melalui 11 pintu masuk naik 6,28 persen.</p>
<p>Secara kumulatif dari Januari hingga Agustus, jumlah wisman tahun 2008 mencapai 4,07 juta orang atau meningkat 12,73 persen dibanding jumlah wisman pada periode yang sama tahun 2007 yang hanya 3,61 juta orang.</p>
<p>Sedangkan jumlah wisman ke Bali pada Agustus 2008 naik 2,67 persen menjadi 195.800 orang dibanding Juli 2008 yang hanya 190.700 orang.</p>

Pemandangan alam sangat indah tetapi foto yang Anda hasilkan mengecewakan. Jangan pula salahkan kamera. Peralatan kamera yang canggih belum bisa menjadi jaminan seseorang bisa membuat foto yang bagus.<!--more--></p>
<p>Di tangan seorang fotografer yang kreatif, sebuah foto pemandangan alam (landscape) yang indah dapat terbuat dari subyek apa saja, dari sebuah daerah pertanian terpencil di Jawa Tengah, ladang perkebunan teh di Jawa Barat, teras sawah di Bali sampai reruntuhan kuil Inca di Peru. Gambar pemandangan alam atau landscape secara sederhana merupakan foto yang melukiskan sebuah tempat di luar rumah, di manapun tempat itu.</p>
<p>Kecendrungan alamiah -terutama pada pemandangan alam yang indah- adalah menggunakan lensa lebar dan secara random memasukan sebanyak mungkin subyek pemandangan. Asumsinya keindahan tempat itu akan memegaruhi foto yang dihasilkan. Biasanya hal itu tidak berhasil baik. Walaupun kemampuan lensa lebar untuk menangkap pemadangan yang luas merupakan sebuah berkah, seringkali justru lebih baik menggunakan lensa tele (jauh) untuk mengisolasi bagian tertentu yang menarik dari sebuah pemandangan. Dalam dua kasus itu (penggunaan lensa lebar atau tele), Anda harus menemukan cara untuk mengorganisasikan atau menghadirkan foto landscape dengan sesedikit mungkin memasukan hal-hal yang tidak perlu.</p>
<p>Cobalah berpikir tentang foto landscape laksana cerita pendek yang memiliki pembukaan (foreground/latar depan), bagian tengah (middle ground/latar tengah), dan bagian akhir (background/latar belakang). Pada sebuah pemandangan ladang pertanian, misalnya, Anda dapat menggunakan kereta tua sebagai foreground, jalan tanah berliku sebagai middle ground, dan sebuah gudang berwarna merah menyala sebagai backgroud. Seorang petani yang sedang menuntun kuda dapat menjadi karakter atau subyek utama foto Anda. (Lepaskan sejumlah ayam di sekitarnya jika Anda butuh beberapa subyek pelengkap.) Sangat sedikit pemandangan alam tampak teratur rapi pada pandangan pertama, maka tugas utama Anda adalah menemukan sebuah tempat yang menguntungkan yang dapat menerjemahkan atau menyampaikan kepada penikmat foto apa yang menarik mata Anda pada pemandangan tersebut.</p>
<p>Sebuah foto landscape juga harus menangkap roh (spirit) dan mood dari suatu tempat. Bahkan sebelum Anda membidikkan lensa Anda ke sasaran, pikirkan sejenak, tanyakan diri Anda apa yang secara emosional tampak bagi Anda tentang dua hal itu (spirit dan mood). Apakah semburat kuning cahaya pagi yang menelusuk masuk di antara rerumputan kering di ladang? Warna, arah, kualitas, intensitas cahaya semuanya punya efek pada landscape. Atau apakah itu kabut sore yang melayang-layang di atas sungai. Cuaca dalam segala bentuknya dapat bekerja mengagumkan bahkan pada pemandangan yang sangat biasa sekalipun.<br />

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The long journey home. I'm in the 'Premium Lounge' in, Denpasar which is actually not bad. Good food and I'm sitting looking at the runway. Which is nice. If you're me.</p>
<p>I think this has been my longest time 'away' for a very long time. 2 whole weeks of Indonesian climate, culture and kindness. That's the over-riding memory I'm taking with me - kindness. There's no doubt it's frustrating when you're here for a technology conference and they can't get the internet to work (we ended up using smoke signals, but they got intercepted and it now appears we've elected Whitney Houston as the new Pope). </p>
<p>But all issues like that, of internet and infrastructure, of long traffic delays and longer waits for room service sort of (just sort of, one step at a time Sanchez) float away when greeting with a genuine smile and passion to help. It's enchanting.</p>
<p>As was the Martini Bar at the Ritz Carlton last night, with new friends and old, in shifts in fact as they departed to the airport to ... depart, we sat, sipped martini's and watched the sun go down on this stunning island. As you well know we've been searching for martini nirvana - and I think we cracked it last night. Which must be a fucking relief to the Ritz Carlton Martini Bar, or they'll be up against trading standards won't they?</p>
<p> </p>
<p>This morning, a lazy breakfast of shared nasi goreng and babi goreng (which resembles fried pigs ear and tastes precisely like you'd imagine such porcine offal to taste) a hot bath and preparation to depart, and off to the airport.</p>

Yippie finally we went to Waterbom. Since I got here, I really wanted to go there, but the ticket is very expensive. And now HSBC credit card offering buy 1 get 1 free, valid until Oct 6, 2008. And last week, I asked the information there the price of the tickets (Rp 140.000 for adult and Rp 90.000 for children) if I wanted to use HSBC card. I calculated that we only pay Rp 230.000 for the tickets.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We went along with my friend’s daughters. We got there around 1 pm. And when I asked the price for HSBC card, it shocked me, the price is Rp 211.600 for adults, and Rp 119.600 for children (publish rate price). Luckily the ticket’s staff gave me other option to pay the cheaper price for 2 adults and 3 children. Because my HSBC card is using visa, she said that for 3 children is Rp 243.000 ((Rp 90.000*3)-10%), plus adults using buy 1 get 1 free Rp 211.600 so total is Rp 425.500 (454.600-29.100 (I couldn’t find out what this is)). We must deposit extra money to be spent for renting a locker or to buy food inside, then she gave me a band called Splash Band that store my credit information (for the Splash Band is Rp 5.000 if we lost it, it already been cut into my credit balance).</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We went inside to change and rented a locker, the family locker is Rp 60.000 (the locker itself Rp 30.000+deposit for the locker Rp 30.000). Fyi, small gazebo Rp 50.000, but we didn’t rent it. Luckily we read blog from others experience that we could brought ourselves towels, so we didn’t have to rent them either hehehe…..</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Here we were….I couldn’t wait to see inside this expensive waterbom. First we saw, a bucket of balloons that filled with water and then we throw them to the throwing target (I forgot what it called), and beside of that game, a swinging chair maybe called Euro-Bungy that can swing up and down. You had to pay for those games.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Then we went forward, and found the Superbowl slide, for me this game was not scary. We slide fast before we got into a big bowl, spin pretty fast inside it before we slide again to the finish point.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We found also kid’s pool, Lazy River, and slides called Smashdown, Race Track, Macaroni Tube, Raft River, Jungle Ride, Boogie Ride, (those slides were near each other), Boomerang (near Superbowl). The most exciting slide for me and my husband was Smashdown, because it liked you had been threw and then smashed down hard then slide fast. We played twice, the first one, I didn’t dare to watch, but the second time, I dared to watch but when I slide fast after I had been smashed, I made a little movement, that was fatal (please don’t try it), I almost hit the slide, and my nipple had been slipped. My husband saw that accident and then scolded me because my head almost hit the slide. The rest of the slides we had tried but only Race Track we didn’t. Fyi, if you want to make your kids play these slides, try first Raft River , because when we read the instruction we thought the safeties was Boomerang, but we got wrong because at the end of the tunnel the speed was faster and had waterfall. We as adult felt not comfortable, maybe for children felt a little shocked. My kid didn’t scream, but when we offer another slide, he said no. And for the Lazy River it was nice if you want to have a little nap (be careful you get sleep and you forget that you are in the water even it’s not deep but it can make you drown for a while) hehehehe….</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We tried to buy snack and ice cream (the price is Rp 8.000 if you buy near the kids pool, but near the locker it was more expensive). There were also corns for Rp 6.000, other foods (but I saw the price were expensive from the normal price especially for the juice).</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Finally we finished around 4 pm and were satisfied. We got changed and returned the locker key, then got my deposit back. Then we went to buy breads at Discovery Mall because we were so hungry, then we went home, had a quick dinner, took a bath, then ready to sleep.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p class="MsoNormal"><span>Gamelan stands out as intrigu<span style="white-space:nowrap;">ing and intricate symbol of nature and human creativity collaboration. <span style="white-space:normal;">Gamelan refers to any one of several types of instrumental ensembles found on the islands of Java and Bali in Indonesia.  Indonesian traditional music that played using Gamelan called gending. It is the main element of the Indonesian traditional music. <span>Ga</span>melan has always existed in its instrumental form as well as in a supportive role when combined with dance, wayang kulit, wayang orang,  but there is no 'concert tradition' for gamelan music in Java. <p>In Indonesian traditional thinking, the gamelan is sacred and is believed to have supernatural power. Both musician and non-musicians are humble and respectful to the gamelan. Incense and flowers are often offered to the gamelan. It is believed that each instrument in the gamelan is guided by spirits. Thus, the musician have to take off their shoes when they play the gamelan. It is also forbidden to step over any instrument in a gamelan, because it might offend the spirit by doing so. <!--more-->Some gamelan are believed to have so much powers that playing them may exert power over nature. Others may be touched only by persons who are ritually qualified. In Javanese gamelan, the most important instrument is the Gong Ageng. The Javanese musicians believe that Gong Ageng is the main spirit of the entire gamelan.</p>
<p>Each gamelan is slightly different from the other; however, they all have the same organization, which based on different instrumental groups with specific orchestral functions.  The instruments in a gamelan are composed of sets of tuned bronze gongs, gong-chimes, metallophones, drums, one or more flute, bowed and plucked string instruments. Gamelan orchestras also feature a sinden or singer.  In some village gamelan, bronze is sometimes replaced by iron, wood, or bamboo.  The most popular gamelan can be found in Java, and Bali.</p>
<p>The word gamelan is derived from the low Javanese word <em><span>gamel</span></em>, meaning a kind of hammer, like those used by blacksmiths. True to its name, most of the instruments are made of beaten metal and are played with mallets. The ensembles can vary from small village groups comprised of a handful of instruments to the grand court emsembles with as many as 75 bronze instruments in addition to the <em>rebabs</em>, drums, and singers.</p>
<p>Gamelan originates from Indonesia but, as this is one of the most culturally diverse nations in the world, it is hardly surprising that there are many different types of gamelan ensemble.  The gamelan offers a rich experience for all the senses. Beaten bronze instruments glow softly in frames of intricately carved wood. The honey-like smoothness of the tones and the intense rhythm intertwine to produce a mood that is at once tranquil and dynamic; the music's complexity encourages meditation. A tradition with a long history, the gamelan still thrives as an art form today in Java, Bali, Madura, Surinam, and other areas influenced by Indonesian culture.</p>
