I love power ranger, for its cool. I never missed any episodes and version and even the DVD format of it I have also. The costumes, the [gallery]stunts and the robots they cold Zord or Megazord that amazes me much.

Eccomi di ritorno dalla gara di Adria. Grazie al nuovo motore potenziato di circa 50 cavalli eravamo finalmente veramente competitivi. In gara 2 parto in quarta posizione con un tempo di 1'21"805 ad un solo decimo dalla prima fila. La partenza è ottima e al termine del secondo giro sono già in seconda posizione. Ma la festa dura solo 12 giri quando a causa di un fusibile parcheggio la BMW e me torno a casa. Il prossimo e ultimo appuntamento della stagione è a Vallelunga il 19 ottobre. Es cierto que cuando le cuento esta pequeña anécdota a la gente se mueren de asco ¿por?, incluso puede que el hecho de que ahora no me guste mucho la nocilla tenga que ver con algún rincón del subconsciente de mi cerebro en el que se aloja el recuerdo de esta mezcla, no se, el caso es que en aquella época era una mezcla deliciosa.

Así que desde aquí lanzo una pregunta para que reflexionéis, ¿qué hubiera pasado si Ferrán Adriá hubiera hecho su presentación de gran cocinero ante los medios exibiendo una rica tapa de nocilla con chorizo?, ¿se hubiera hundido su carrera para siempre o sería igualmente lo que es ahora? y lo mejor de todo, ¿si fuese ahora cuando Adriá mostrase al mundo una tapita de "chorinoci" se hundiría El Bulli para siempre?

Del 26 al 28 de septiembre se llevará a cabo la Primera Feria Internacional Gastronómica de Lima: Perú, Mucho Gusto, con presencias como la de Albert Adrià, hermano de Ferran y encargado de los postres en el Bulli,  Sumito Estévez, Xabi Gutiérrez y los mejores cocineros peruanos como Gastón Acurio, Sandra Plevisani, Hajime Kasuga, Teresa Izquierdo, James Berckemeyer, Javier Wong entre otros. En otro post seguro comentaremos los resultados.

Del 4 al 7 de noviembre se llevará a cabo la “Semana Mesa Sao Paulo 2008�, uno de los eventos más esperados en Brasil, organizada por la Revista Prazeres da Mesa y por Senac Sao Paulo Centro Universitario, una vez más escenario del evento, que incluye la tradicional Mesa Live que llega a su 5 ª edición y la Mesa Tendencias - 2 º Foro Internacional de Gastronomía de Sao Paulo, donde tanto el público como los chefs esperan poder ver en vivo el desempeño de los grandes Chefs.

Está confirmada la presencia de personalidades como Alex Atala (DOM) de Sao Paulo, Ferran Adrià (El Bulli), Andoni Luis Aduriz (Mugaritz) , Juan Mari Arzak (Arzak) , Martin Berasategui (Martín Berasategui), Pedro Subijana (Akelare), Joan Roca (Celler de Can Roca), Quique Dacosta (El Poblet) , y Dani García (Calima) . Otros que anuncian su presencia son Andrea Kauffman (Ak Delicatessen), Bella Masano (Amadeus), Bel Coelho (Buddha Bar), Leila Kuczynski (Arabia), Rodrigo Oliveira (Mocotó), Paul Scarabotta (Friccó), Viko Tangoda (Producción y Viko Alimentos) y Yann Corderon (Azaït) , todos de Sao Paulo. Además Frédéric Mayer (Eça) y Teresa Corção, de Río de Janeiro, Monica Rancel (Gosto com Gosto), Andrew Saburó (Quinta de Mañana) y Cesar Santos (Oficina do Sabor) entre otros.

Pero antes de estos dos grandes eventos hay uno que organiza el Grand Hyatt Sao Paulo y que dejará a muchos con las ganas. Este evento se realizará el 3 de noviembre y estará dirigido por los Chefs mas reconocidos del mundo gastronómico como lo son Ferran Adriá, Juan Mari Arzak, Martín Berasategui, Pedro Subijana, Alex Atala y otros once chefs, muy famosos todos, cocinando para solo ochenta comensales por la módica suma de 6,000 reales (10,500 pesos argentinos o 3,500 dólares americanos aproximadamente) por cubierto y cuya recaudación iría para una Institución benéfica.

Ferrán Adrià con Carlos Maslatón en la cocina de el Bulli

Y como obviamente uno de los más esperados,  por su tan admirado y a la vez tan criticado laboratorio gastronómico y la revolución gastronómica, será Ferrán Adrià, quiero compartir con ustedes la vivencia personal que tuvo Carlos Maslatón, amigo y  gran conocedor de los restaurantes mas famosos del mundo, cuando tuvo la oportunidad de comer en el Bulli, al ser invitado por unos amigos y el mismo Ferrán Adrià.

El Bulli, restaurante con tres estrellas Michelin y donde el precio por persona es de aproximadamente 250 euros, es famoso sobre todo por la deconstrucción, que consiste en aislar los elementos de un plato tradicional y volverlos a construir de manera inusual, pero conservando su sabor original. En esta oportunidad el menú era de 155 euros pero le comentaron que la cena para 3 personas había costado 3.600 euros por el vino y champagne que consumieron. Podrán tener acceso tanto al menú que se preparó ese día como también a nueve videos de dicho evento al cual Carlos Maslatón pudo asistir el día 26 de Mayo de 2005.

El Bulli solo sirve cenas, cierra Lunes y Martes (excepto verano) y del 1º de octubre al 1º de abril. En esos seis meses de cierre, el Bulli diseña y ensaya nuevas creaciones. Obtener una mesa en el Bulli parece una tarea imposible ya que las reservas se hacen con casi un año de anticipación y no todo el mundo tiene acceso a ello, eso si, al parecer hay un cupo para la gente del pueblo y algunos tuvieron la oportunidad de ir hasta mas de una vez. Recomiendo leer la Historia de el Bulli.

Mi amigo Gilgalad, de Pescadores Anónimos, hizo el siguiente comentario en un foro privado donde se tocó este tema: “Hay comida de 3.600 euros por persona. El foie gras 100% de ganso cuesta alrededor de 2 dólares el gramo. Un bife Wellington para una persona sola lleva 150 grs. de foie. El caviar Petrossian no baja de 10.000 dólares el kg. Y estamos hablando de materias primas solamente. Adrià además tiene que pagar su laboratorio ya que el Bulli abre 6 meses solamente y los otros 6 experimenta. El resto es todo subjetivo, son gustos. Yo por ejemplo no pago nada por el vino, no me resulta atractivo, lo máximo que pagaría por un vino son 50 pesos (argentinos).�

Muchos se preguntarán si vale la pena o no gastar semejante cantidad de dinero por una cena, pero esa es una cuestión tan personal como la escala de valores que cada uno pueda tener. Hay quienes preferirán ahorrar en comida y gastar en viajes, autos o en apariencia,  en mi caso, comer bien es uno de mis placeres.

Talvez não com todo o envolvimento midiático e financeiro de grandes patrocinadores, mas os jogos paraolímpicos são mais do que uma competição.

A superação de limites e de por vezes dramas pessoais, tornam-se lágrimas e suor de vencedores.
Não há derrotados nas paraolimpíadas.

É fácil admirar Phleps ou Bolt, engrandecidos pelo marketing esportivo e pelo dinheiro de grandes centros de treinamentos.

Mas, me pergunto afinal, porquê os grandes atletas de cadeiras de roda, olhos vendados e percepção sobre-humana são considerados tão diferentes e esquecidos das grades de programação das TVs?

Ainda há muito preconceito no Brasil com relação aos portadores de necessidades especiais. Ainda há dificuldades no cotidiano deles.

Ônibus não adaptados, calçadas esburacadas e sem sinalizações específicas e um olhar preconceituoso e de diferença de muitos.
Na busca por um mundo melhor acredito no poder do esporte e vejo a Olimpíada - ainda que tenha perdido muito dos valores pensados por Barão de Cobertin - como uma porta para a busca por igualdade nas relações humanas.

Penso o porquê da separação? Por quê dois jogos olimpícos?

Imagine como seria emocionante vermos tudo acontecer ao mesmo tempo:

Em uma bela tarde Phelps vai para a piscina e ganha, minutos depois Daniel Dias e Clodoaldo Silva também fazem bonito nas águas mágicas de um Cubo d'�gua. A torcida vibra no estádio olímpico, Bolt ganha e dança mais uma vez...em pouco tempo �dria dos Santos passa como um raio para conquistar mais uma medalha para o Brasil e mostrar para o mundo que no final todos somos vitoriosos, apesar de reclamarmos tanto de nossas condições físicas, sociais, psicológicos ou financeiras.

É claro que há questões técnicas, seja dos locais de competição, seja dos aparelhos envolvidos que dificultariam este casamento, mas, poderíamos sim, ver ter este show amarrado em único pilar.

O pilar do sonho da igualdade e da valorização das pessoas, das idéias, do suor e do amor pelo esporte, do amor antes de mais nada, pela vida.

FluSSidiverSi vuole essere un momento dedicato alla parola ed al suo significato, al movimento che essa disegna nell’animo e nell’orecchio di chi ascolta, nella mente di chi legge, nei pensieri/sogni di ognuno di noi.

E’ prevista la partecipazione di un elevato numero di poeti dei vari territori della Comunità e di studiosi che avranno modo di confrontarsi con coloro che svolgono la fondamentale attività del traduttore.

Ci sarà anche un simposio dedicato a colui che è considerato oggi il maggiore poeta italiano, Andrea Zanzotto, veneto di Pieve di Soligo, che scolpirà versi inediti sul lungomare. Appuntamenti divertenti per avvicinare i più piccoli alla poesia saranno previsti durante le tre giornate in rete con la Fondazione mostra internazionale dell’illustrazione per l’infanzia.

L’iniziativa è promossa dalla Regione del Veneto - Gruppo Esperti Cultura con la Comunità di Lavoro di Alpe Adria – Gruppo Progetto Relazioni Culturali e dal Comune di Caorle, in collaborazione con importanti realtà culturali quali la Fondazione per l’Illustrazione per l’Infanzia di Sàrmede e l’Accademia Musicale Santa Cecilia di Portogruaro.

Am Lido mit Sandstrand - goldgelb, sauber und gepflegt - gemütlichen Liegestühlen und bunten Sonnenschirmen ist Sonnenbaden und Relaxen angesagt.

"Bademeister" haben soweit alles im Griff - außer dem Wetter vielleicht. Sie sorgen für Ordnung und Sauberkeit am gesamten Areal. Dafür, dass die Qualität stets stimmt, wird eine kleine Gebühr pro Liege und Tag eingehoben. Ein Betrag, den der Gast bei Konsumation wieder retour bekommt.
Am Abend, wenn die Sonne am Horizont langsam untergeht, verwandelt sich der Uferstreifen in einen belebten Laufsteg. Sehen und gesehen werden, heißt dann das Motto.

Auf der Piazza Grande, dem kulinarischen Herzstück der ADRIAWIEN, dominiert die italienische Küche. Die Auswahl ist groß. Zum Frühstück ein Espresso oder Café mit frischen Cornetti, zu Mittag Antipasti misti, Pasta oder ein kühlendes Gelato und am Abend frischen Fisch vom Grill. Dazu ein guter italienischer Wein, ein Glas Prosecco und danach ein cooler Cocktail. Sollte das Wetter mal nicht mitspielen, bieten die italienische Bar im Glaspavillion sowie die überdachte Terrasse idealen Schutz vor Wetterkapriolen.
Nicht jeder möchte den ganzen Tag auf der "faulen" Haut liegen. Damit keine Langeweile aufkommt, gibt es jede Menge Freizeitprogramm. Ein großer Spielplatz für Kinder mit vielen Spielgeräten, für die Gemütlichen gibt es Boccia-Bahnen. Die ganz Sportlichen bringen bzw. halten ihren Körper mit Federball, Joggen, Skaten und Radln in Form.

Espana Viva

Did you guys see last weeks epi of No Reservations? Where Bourdain goes to Spain? HI. It was the most envied episode of any show I have ever seen in my life. I have never had a stronger desire to be somewhere else than during that hour long episode where AB tours the gastronomical delights of the worlds capital of fashion forward food, Spain. I think AB put it best when he said "Spain is the best place in the world to eat, it's food porn so hard core, so smokin' hot that event I, jaded feedbag that I've become, get the gastro version of morning wood just thinking about it". Well put. Elegant and to-the-point. 

Some highlights (essentially the whole epi was a highlight):

- Brothers Albert & Ferran Adria of el Bulli. The most official, sought after, hardest to come by reservation in the whole world. This is where molecular gastronomy starts and ends. With 3 Michelin stars and having a rating at the best restaurant in the world, it's definitely official. The kitchen is like one huge lab. Kewl. el Bulli also has a few amazing books of photography documenting their creations in the kitchen as well as a new book documenting A Day at el Bulli which will be released in October 08.

- Mugaritz in San Sebastian. I'm going here b/c AB compares the charcoal grilled and roasted foie gras + sea urchin dish to "having sex with twins". Sure. 

- Exteberri in Axpe in the Basque region of Spain. Chef Victor Arginzoni is hands down the King of the grill. He's a natural born griller biatches. There was an article in the August issue of Gourmet on Extebarri and from the second I read it, I knew I would always pine for a meal there. The way he works and manipulates fire is genius. He's like a modern cave man, cooking with nothing but the best ingredients over open flame. Jeffrey Steingarden wrote a great article on Extebarri in Men's Vouge. 

Phew. I'm spent. I'm lying here dreaming of jamon Iberico.

If you must have a Basque fix now, may I suggest Pintxos in the West Village? Oh, no. No I can't because it closed. WHY. WHY. WHY. This was the only place to get decent, authentic tapas! RIP.

Kot ponavadi se je na�rt porušil (spomnil sem se zakaj nerad planiram, raje kakšen dogodek napovem), sicer ne zaradi �esa življenjsko pomembnega, pa vendarle, zamudnega ... Skratka zaradi Bigfisha. Kar dva sem seveda dvignil skuštran, ne ravno sit, nekoliko zaskrbljen, vendar še vedno kar pozitiven. Sodelavec je posnel še kratko mojo izjavo za svoj blog Blogfish in "off we go"!

Na letališ�u pri »check in« sem naletel na manjšo oviro, saj naj bi moral športne rekvizite prijaviti pred svojih odhodom. Ko sem razložil (zelo simpati�ni, slike žal nimam) Adrijini zaposleni, da Bigfish ni navadno kolo, je dale� najboljše zložljivo kolo, da oba tehtata precej manj kot zgornja meja prtljage (ta je 32 kg), da je Bigfish zlati donator slovenske olimpijske reprezentance, da ne nameravam tekmovati, se mi je le še nasmehnila in mi zaželela sre�no pot.

Po približno 12-ih urah potovanja sem tako utrujen, a sre�en, �akal na prtljago, manjkali sta le še kolesi. Kov�ek sem že dobil, Bigfishov pa še ni bilo, tako sem vprašal prvega zaposlenega, kje lahko najdem preostali del prtljage. Vprašal me je kaj iš�em, odgovoril sem �rno torbo z dvema kolesoma. Iz resnega obraza je nastal nasmeh in nagajiv pogled, �eš »a ti veš, kam si prišel - v mesto z 9 milijoni koles, ti norec pa si pripeljal še dva!«

Jutri bom iz atletskega stadiona navijal za Kozmusa, napovedujem pa met dolg 81,35 m, kasneje popoldne pa obiš�emo športnike v olimpijski vasi, tako do jutri lep olimpijski pozdrav!

Ich bin gerade im Hotel Salinera in Strunjan, am Fusse eines bewaldeten Huegels gelegen.  Hier laesst sichs durchaus gut Urlaub machen.

Das Haus ist als 4-Sterne-Hotel ausgewiesen, doch diesem Standard entsprechen nur die Superior-Zimmer mit Meerblick (ab 90 € pro Doppelzimmer, jetzt in  der Hochsaison 125 €). Beim Zimmer sollte man nicht sparen - der Ausblick ist wirklich ein Hit - man sieht auf Wald, den  gepflegten Garten des Hotels, das Meer und  die Bucht. Der  Balkon ist grosszuegig - ein Glaeschen des koestlichen slowenischen Malvasia laesst sich hier vortrefflich geniessen.

Es gibt sicherlich schoenere Straende an der Adria, aber fuer einen schnellen Meer-Trip - nur 5 Autostunden von Wien entfernt - kann ich das Salinera empfehlen. Es ist alles gepflegt, es gibt einen sauberen Meerwasserpool. Das Meer erreicht man ueber mehrere Stege und eine betonierte Promenade mit Stiegen. Die Liegewiese ist ebenfalls sehr gepflegt und bietet ausreichend Schatten.

Beim Essen muss man mit allen Abstrichen einer Hotel-Massenverpflegung rechnen: Der Fisch im Rechaud kann gar nicht anders sein als etwas trocken, das Salatbuefett ist nicht wirklich vielseitig, und die Gerichte warten nicht mit grosser Rafinesse auf - aber der Wein und das Bier vom Fass sind gut, und das Hotel kann man ja auch nur mit Fruehstueck buchen.

Das entzueckende Staedtchen Piran - Kleinvenedig Sloweniens - ist nur wenige Autominuten entfernt, und dort gibts  hervorragende Spezialitaeten-Restaurants, sowohl im gehobenen Segment (Empfehlenswert: das Fisch-Restaurant "Verdi"!) als auch im guenstigen Bereich.

Piran ist in jedem Fall ein Muss fuer Slowenien-Urlauber. Ein Bilderbuch-Staedtchen mit winzigen Gaesschen, suessen Lokalen und einem lang gezogenen (leider ebenfalls betonierten) Stadtstrand.

Ueberhaupt nuetzen die Slowenen fast jeden Zentimeter ihrer 46 Kilometer langen Kueste aus. Wer es turbulenter und chicer will, findet seinen Strand in Portoroz - ehemaligen k.k. Glanz inklusive. Hier wurde sogar Sand aufgeschuettet, und die Sonnenliegen sind so sortiert wie in Italien.

Mein erstes Resumee: Der anspruchsvolle Oesterreicher muss bei Komfort und Service ein paar Abstriche machen, fuer Fans mediterranen Lebensgefuehl ist der slowenische Teil Istriens aber eine interessante Alternative, wo es noch viel zu entdecken gibt - zu vergleichsweise immer noch moderaten Preisen (trotz erheblicher Euro-Teuerung).

Die italienischen Behörden haben die Förderung der Erdgasvorkommen in dem Bereich bei Venedig bisher untersagt, da ein Absinken der Stadt Venedig befürchtet wird.

ENI argumentiert jedoch, dass an anderen Orten der Adria bereits Erdgas gefördert wird und sieht weniger Bedenken als die Behörden.
