El tiempo y su percepción son relativos… lejos de meternos en estos temas que tan de actualidad están en Lost, me vengo a referir en lo largo o lo cortos que se te pueden hacer 40 minutos. La semana pasada, con “Something Nice Back Home” cuarenta minutos parecieron 3 días sin comer, mientras que con el undécimo episodio de la cuarta temporada de Lost, “Cabin Fever”, cuando ves que termina el episodio parece que solo hubieran pasado diez minutos. No es algo exclusivo de las series, ni del cine, cuando uno está ante algo que le agrada, el tiempo vuela. Llevo toda la temporada clasificando por géneros, para este no encuentro una calificación apropiada, de hecho, la única forma que se me ocurre para clasificarlo es como de Lost puro y duro. No importa que John Locke esté como una regadera, sus episodios, como los de Desmond o Ben, suelen ser geniales, y este no es una excepción.

"Cabin Fever" es tensión pura y dura, durante todo el episodio estás espectante a ver la siguiente escena, saber que va a pasar. Incluso con el arranque inusual, nos pasamos todo el tiempo preguntandonos que es lo siguiente. Empezando fuerte, por el flashbacks, tenemos la confirmación de que Locke es especial, y que estaba destinado a terminar en la isla. Para ello vemos una de las primeras sorpresas del capítulo, Richard Alpert estuvo en el hospital cuando John nació, y por supuesto seguía igual de joven que siempre. Vemos que lo intentó reclutar, que quiso ver si era especial, si era alguien que es o fue, pero Locke falló, y ahí se confirma que su vida sería miserable hasta el momento en el que pisa la isla. Se nos confirma que ya era patético en el instituto, dónde la isla le volvió a llamar, y volvió a no ir. El último fragmento nos lo muestra ya tullido, y vemos a Abaddon, el reclutador los protagonistas de “Confirmed Dead”, y terminar de despejar dudas de dónde tiene que acabar. No voy a entrar a especular sobre bandos, reencarnaciones, niños muertos vestidos de payaso ni demás parafernalia, este episodio es grande porque recupera aquella bonita costumbre de meternos en flashbacks personajes que conocemos pero los personajes no, como pasó con Christian Shepard (luego iré con este que tiene tela) en los casos de Ana Lucía o Sawyer. Son viejos detalles que de vez en cuando se agradecen.

En el carguero se monta, hablando mal y pronto, un pifostio del copón. Keamy es un cabronías, el actor que se han buscado lo borda (menos mal que no han puesto a Adam Baldwin, en el momento que un Baldwin pisa una serie, la producción se jode). Hay mucha gente a la que la trama del carguero le parece cogida con pinzas, a mí me gusta. Keamy es un mercenario tocado del ala, que tiene sed de sangre y se divierte pegando tiros, le da igual matar a quien sea para cumplir el objetivo, y si el capitán se le pone farruco, que va a hacer el pobre muchacho, tendrá que matarlo, no va a dejar que un piloto buenazo se salga con la suya y no los lleve a la isla para que la pongan patas arriba. Genial Desmond, que se queda esperando a Penny y que no piensa volver a pisar la isla. Hay quien lo acusa de egoísta, yo más bien creo que es alguien que se preocupa por sí mismo y con razón, ha estado viviendo 3 años con un tío en un bunker pulsando un botón, está relativamente cerca de volver a ver al amor de su vida, y no ha vivido tanto tiempo con los supervivientes como para tener la relación que tiene por ejemplo Sayid, así que no veo tan raro que mire por sus intereses. Sayid es otro grande, siempre lo ha sido, y como convence al capitán para ir al rescate. Lapidus también intenta ayudar a su modo, pero ya podía poner un post-it en el iPhone para que el grupo de Jack no vaya a buscar una muerte segura…

El meollo del episodio está en lo que ocurre en la isla con Ben, Hurley y Locke buscando la casa de Jacobo. Vuelven los sueños con muertos, ya le ocurrieron con Yemi, el hermano de Eko al que no conocía de nada, así que tampoco es para tanto que ahora vea a Horace, muerto en la purga, y le de indicaciones, es algo que lleva presente mucho tiempo en la serie este tipo de apariciones. Y siguiendo lo que le dicen, una vez más, Locke encuentra la fosa común de la purga, y un mapa en el cadáver putrefacto de Horace que le lleva a encontrar la cabaña. Hugo y Ben se quedan fuera, este último ya no se siente especial, y gracias a ello tenemos un entrañable momento en el que los dos comparten una chocolatina. Con Locke ya dentro de la cabaña seguimos sin ver a Jacob, dentro está Christian Shepard actuando como el Metatrón en Dogma, habla en nombre de Jacob, pero lo más sorprendente no es ver al padre de Jack allí, si no a Claire, con una cara de drogada que no puede con ella, es de las pocas veces que este personaje consigue llamar realmente la atención en muchos episodios. Y bueno, para acabar el episodio, la frase de la semana, para salvar la isla hay que moverla… no, si al final acabará siendo Krakoa y veremos a la segunda generación de hombre X en acción.

Concluyendo, “Cabin Fever” es uno de esos episodios que no deja indiferente, y que sin dejar todo lo que se ha avanzado en la narrativa tiene cierto regusto clásico pero con estilo, retoma elementos y es capaz de salvar a un personaje que deambula como pollo sin cabeza. Este episodio es tensión pura y dura, te mantiene pegado al asiento, y plantea las 3 horas de la finale de forma magistral. También es de agradecer que hayan vuelto a aparecer los del carguero, y que todo este listo para un final potencialmente genial. Sea como fuere, puedes ver este episodio dos veces seguida que se te hará menos pesado que ver la mitad del anterior, es lo que tiene que algo consiga conectar con el espectador, y sobre todo, mal que le pese a muchos, que el verdadero protagonista de Lost, esté de vuelta, no importa que no sea el personaje que más flash lleve, el nos demostró hace más de 3 años que era Lost, y con este episodio nos lo ha vuelto a demostrar.

Que intriga, que tensión, que ardor de estomago. Ayer 4x11, la semana que viene 4x12, y en tres semanitas la Season Finale, con un episodio doble de 3 horas.

¿No teneis una cierta sensación de vacio? La serie se acaba, quedan tres capítulos y dos temporadas por delante, y todo estará resuelto. Por fin los guionistas parecen dispuestos a resolver nuestras dudas, aunque en el camino nos asalten otras cuarenta. Por fin, caminamos hacia la solución, aunque luego duela. Adiós al humo negro, a los ojos saltones de Ben, a la brillante calva de John, a Kate (ay), a Jack.... Encontraremos una explicación a aquella estatua con cuatro dedos, nos olvidaremos de las escotillas, no volveremos a jugar a la loteria con aquellos números (the numbers are bad!!!!!!), y dentro de unos años la sonrisa picarona de Juliet será tan solo un bonito recuerdo.

Por suerte, creo que hasta entonces nos vamos a divertir, especialmente con ese duo cómico-dramático John-Ben. Entre ojos saltones y el lisiado más cabrón de la isla nos van a hacer pasar buenos ratos.

Y luego nos daremos cuenta, nunca debimos salir de la isla.

Come sottolinea il comunicato stampa della ABC, Lost rimane comunque il telefilm più visto nella sua collocazione oraria nella categoria chiave degli adulti fra i 18 e i 49 anni, i telespettatori più appetibili dal punto di vista pubblicitario.Ecco gli ascolti di tutti gli undici episodi della quarta stagione.

Quando na semana passada eu não consegui resistir e assisti ao promo de Cabin Fever, eu senti muita raiva de min mesma. Afinal, o trailer continha uma bombástica cena em que um personagem aparecia afirmando estar morto há doze anos. Mal sabia eu que a aparição de Horace Goodspeed (além de não ser tão bombástica quanto eu pensei, por ser um sonho) não foi nem de longe o elemento mais surpreendente dos quarenta minutos do episódio. E escolher esse momento talvez seja impossível.
Diante de mais de um final de episódio dessa temporada a primeira coisa a passar pela minha cabeça foi WTF? Mas ao final de Cabin Fever a primeira coisa que se passou pela minha cabeça foi “Genial!”. Incrível como Locke pode simplesmente dizer “Ele (Jacob) quer que movamos a Ilha” e eu posso não ficar confusa. A Ilha não está mais no mesmo lugar! É por isso que nem Widmore, nem Jack conseguem encontrá-la, e que apenas seis pessoas saem dela(tá, isso é especulação). Será que a Ilha já foi movida no passado? Eu me perguntei isso devido ao misterioso comentário de Charles Widmore em The Shape of Things to Come em que ele afirma que a Ilha já foi dele.
Eu havia imaginado que ele era um investidor da Dharma que desconhecia a localização da Ilha e depois da expurgação, ele perdeu todo o controle para Bem. Mas agora podemos até mesmo especular que ele sabia exatamente onde a Ilha ficava, e por isso mesmo tem tanto conhecimento sobre ela, incluindo um mapa, e ela foi movida. Eu também me perguntei se Matthew Abbadon teria ido trabalhar para Widmore porquê esteve na Ilha, ou esteve na Ilha porquê trabalhava para Widmore? Se for a primeira, confirma o interesse do bilionário, mas se for a segunda, o buraco é mais embaixo do que pensamos. Abbadon poderia ser da Dharma? Ou um hostil? Ou apenas um Outcast, a parar na Ilha por acidente, como Danielle ou Henry Gale (o verdadeiro)?
Aliás, depois desse episódio, dá para dizer que alguém foi parar na Ilha por acidente? O assustador flashback de John Locke ressuscita a questão do recrutamento. Eu definitivamente não sou fã da teoria de conspiração de que aquelas pessoas foram todas postas ali para cair na Ilha. Mas, da maneira como vem sendo construída, até que não está tão ruim. Até porquê, eu gosto da idéia de destino, quando bem tratada. E ela foi tratada brilhantemente em Alias, e está sendo brilhantemente tratada aqui.
Se na primeira temporada eu ficava boquiaberta por John e sua conexão com a Ilha, quatro temporadas depois ainda não foi menos embasbacante ver que sua jornada tem uma relação tão intrínseca com a Ilha desde tão cedo. De repente, a fascinação de John pelo Smokey, sua fé precoce na Ilha, tudo tem outro sentido, outra cor. Locke é tão especial que Richard Alpert esteve a vigiá-lo desde seu nascimento? Aliás, falando de Alpert, a cena em que ele visita o John criança é no mínimo curiosa. Sou só eu que ainda está tentando decifrar o quê significam cada coisa sobre a mesa e o porquê da escolha da faca tê-lo deixado tão frustrado? E qual objeto ele queria que fosse escolhido? Afinal, a brincadeirinha tinha resposta certa e errada. E mesmo John tendo dado a resposta errada, anos depois Alpert tentou levá-lo para a Ilha novamente, desta vez através de um suposto Acampamento de Ciências. O que o fez mudar de idéia, Jacob?
Benjamin também me deixou com a pulga atrás da orelha nesse episódio. Primeiro, quando ele diz nem sempre foi o líder. É claro que isso é um pouco óbvio, já que Ben teve seu primeiro encontro com Richard quando era criança, mas quem poderia ser esse líder? O próprio Richard, alguém que conhecemos (Christian Sheppard? Charles Widmore?) ou alguém que nem conhecemos ainda? Também intrigante foi ver Linus se resignando ao fato de quê John é o novo escolhido. Jamais achei que Ben pudesse largar o osso tão facilmente e ainda tenho minhas dúvidas. Para min, Benjamin sempre tem segundas intenções, até que se prove o contrário.
Tão intrigante quanto foi o sorrisinho de Claire, que está simplesmente na cabana de Jacob, tranqüila, passando o tempo como se aquele não fosse o lugar mais sinistro na Terra. E Christian, que aparentemente é o Relações Públicas de Jacob. O Deus da Ilha estava ocupado demais fazendo exatamente o quê?
Agora, mudando para o outro ponto da Ilha? Fui só eu que pensei que Lapidus tinha jogado o telefone para avisar que o time de assassinos estava chegando, e para que com a localização os sobreviventes pudessem fugir? Eu juro que gritei “Não!!” quando Jack decidiu que talvez Frank queria que os seguissem. “Sim, venham até o exército de mercenários sem controle para...”, para quê ele faria isso? Será que Lapidus está achando que Sawyer, Miles e Claire já chegaram á praia e contaram tudo aos outros? Considerando que ele os encontrou, voou até o cargueiro, ficou um tempinho lá e voltou, talvez sim. A viagem de Sawyer e Miles á praia está mesmo demorada, talvez eles estejam procurando por Claire. Torço para que Sayid chegue logo e salve essas almas perdidas (leia-se Jack e Kate) de irem correndo direto para a boca do leão.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"Out."

"With who? Him?"

"Yes, and you can't stop me. We're in love."

"He's twice your age, Emily."

"So what, Mom. Are you jealous?" Probably.

Emily runs out the door and into the rain. Then, inexplicably, she runs right into the street without looking where she's going.

Take that, Mom! Jealous much?

After a flash of white light, we see Emily regain consciousness in a hospital, where she tells a nurse that she's almost six months pregnant. Next thing you know, she's poppin' out a preemie. The nurse tells her it's a boy, and he's okay, just "real early." She can't hold him either - "he's just too little" - but as the nurses wheel him away, she shouts, "Name him John, okay? His name is John!" John Locke!

Back on the island, a decidedly older Locke leads Hurley and Ben through the jungle. Or does he? I still think Ben is pulling strings.

Locke asks Ben how long till they get to the cabin, but Ben says he's been following Hurley. "I'm not even in front," says Hurley. Ben says he doesn't know where the cabin is, Hurley saw it last. Not it! "Oh, this is just awesome," deadpans Hugo. Ben asks Locke what he thinks they should do, and he decides to make camp. "What? Here, in the dark, with the monster, and...." he nods towards Ben, "him?" Locke half-heartedly assures him it's okay, even though he admits he still doesn't know what to do when the freighter gang gets back. Not yet, anyway.

Sweet dreams!

Back on the freighter, Sayid wakes Desmond. The chopper's back.

Keamy and the boys unload their injured man. The doc asks what happened. "Black pillar of smoke threw him 50 feet in the air," states Keamy. "Ripped his guts out." That is what happened. Keamy rolls up on Sayid and asks how many people are on the island and where they are. And why would I do that, asks Sayid? Keamy recognizes the rhetorical nature of his question and moves on to Captain Gault.

"You gave me up. Linus. He knew who I was, he knew my name, he knew everything about me." Nope, not me, says Gault. They head down below to confront Michael, who acknowledges that, yes, he told Ben about Keamy.

So he shoots Michael in the head and kills him. Except no bullets come out, and he doesn't kill him. Gault tells Keamy that they need Michael to fix the engines, because he's the one who broke them. Keamy makes one of his psycho nutjob faces and knocks Michael out.

Break.

Morning, Locke.

What's that sound? Hurley and Ben keep sleeping as Locke goes to check it out. It's Horace Goodspeed chopping down a tree. "Hello there," he says. Locke asks who it is and what he's doing. "Building a place. Little getaway for me and the missus. Sometimes you need a break from the DI, ya know? The Dharma Initiative? I'm not making any sense, am I." No, says Locke. "That's probably because I've been dead for 12 years," says Horace.

Then Horace chops the same treee again. "Hello there!" Locke looks up and, well, the tree is still there, unchopped.

It's great that hints of time travel and time looping are ubiquitous on Lost now, not only weekly but throughout most episodes. Great, i tell you. Horace continues. "You gotta find me, John. You gotta find me. And when you do, you'll find him."

"Who?"

"Jacob. He's been waiting for you a real long time, man." Horace goes back to chopping. "I'm Horace." Pleased to meet you! "Godspeed, John."

Creepy. Was Ben in John's head? It feels that way.

Locke shakes Hugo to wake him up. "Mallomars," Hugo mutters. Haha, nice dream. Time to go, says Locke. "I thought we didn't know where we were going?" We do now, says Locke.

Ben keeps staring at Locke, or undressing him with his eyes, one or the other. "I used to have dreams," says Ben. About Mallomars? Oh, about the island. Locke nods like, Okay playa, let's go.

"Hi Emily, Mrs. Locke. It's good to see you," says the nurse. Emily asks how he's doing. "He's amazing. He's the youngest preemie ever to survive in this hospital. He's had infections, pneumonia, you name it. And every time, he knocked them out. He is a fighter, your little John."

"That's wonderful," says Mrs. Locke, as if she doesn't care at all. Then - get this - she CHECKS HER WATCH.

We keeping you from something important? What's that all about.

The nurse continues. "The other girls say he's a miracle baby. And today, we're gonna take him out of the incubator, so you can hold him for the very first time."

"I...I can't do this. I'm sorry, I can't!"

She runs out out of the room. Chicken! Her mom casually asks who to talk to about adoption as she prepares to light a cigarette. No smoking, says the nurse. Sorry, says Mrs. Locke, who turns to see a mystery man watching them.

"is that the father?" asks the nurse.

"I...I don't know who that is."

Whoa nellie! It's Richard Alpert, looking the same as ever. He nods to Mrs. Locke, possibly as if they know each other, which is somewhat corroborated by her reaction to seeing him and her stammering denial about knowing him.

So what's he doing here? No answers now. He walks away.

Break!

Locke leads Hugo and Ben through the jungle. Hurley asks why he's here. Because you can see the cabin, says Locke, and that makes you special. "Well, I have a theory as to why we're the only ones who can see it." Love to hear it, says Locke. "I think we can see it cuz we're the craziest." Tee hee.

Locke tells Hugo they're making a pit stop first. Where? "You ever wonder what happened to the Dharma Initiative, Hugo? There must have been at least a hundred of them living on this island, manning the stations, building those homes, making all that ranch dressing that you like. And then one day, they're all gone. They just disappeared. You want to know where we're going? We're going to see them."

"Whoa. What happened to them?"

Locke nods at Ben. "He did." Ben gives him a look like, Sure, it's always my fault. (Usually, yes.)

Break.

Lil' Locke. And he's playing backgammon. Adorable. His foster mom tells him he has a visitor.

Yikes! Richard again. Foster mom puts Lil' Locke on his best behavior and leaves him alone with a stranger, because that's appropriate.

"Do you like backgammon?" Lil' Locke nods. "You seem to have a pretty good sense of the game. I'm Richard, John. I run a school for kids who are...extremely special. And I have reason to believe that you might be one of them. Mind if I show you a couple of really neat things?" Lil' Locke nods to indicate that he doesn't mind. Then Richard gets up and sees this!

Smoke Monster? "Did you draw this, John?" Lil Locke nods yes. Richard sits him down. "I want you to look at these things, and think about them."

"Now, tell me, John, which of these things belong to you."

"To keep?"

"No, no, John, which of these things belong to you...already."

Lil' Locke looks at all the stuff. He takes the vial of sand-looking stuff. He takes the compass.

Then, after some deliberation, he takes the knife.

"You sure the knife belongs to you, John? You sure about that?"

Lil' Locke nods in the affirmative.

Richard yanks the knife away from him. "No, it doesn't." Richard gets up hurriedly to leave. Fine, who needs him anyway? Foster mom comes in to see how the little man did. "I'm afraid John isn't quite ready for our school. Sorry I've wasted your time."

"What did you do?"

Aww, Lil' Locke is sad!

So ends the most unfunniest scene of Suddenly Susan ever.

On the island, Locke is rummaging through the dead bodies in the Dharma pit. Still not ready for that gifted school! Hurley strikes up some small talk about the time Ben shot Locke and left him for dead. Yup, this is the spot, says Ben. "I should have realized at the time that it was pointless, but I really wasn't thinking clearly."

"Is that why you killed all these people too?"

Cue dramatic music. "I didn't kill them."

"Well, if The Others didn't wipe out the Dharma Initiative - "

"They did wipe them out, Hugo. But it wasn't my decision."

"Then whose was it."

"Their leaders."

"But I thought you were their leader."

"Not always."

And just when we're about to get all the answers to everything we've always wanted to know about Lost, we see that Locke has found Horace's dead body, and inside Horace's pocket, a blueprint.

"The cabin," says Locke. "He was building it." Certainly looks that way.

Back on the freighter, Keamy tells Frank to gas up the chopper and get ready to head back to the island. Frank begins to protest, but Keamy reiterates his simple request: "Gas up the chopper, Frank." Okey-dokey, says Frank. Captain Gault tells Keamy that he might be suffering from a case of the crazies like Regina was, but Keamy isn't looking for analysis, he's looking for Captain G's key - which he rips right off his neck.

Gault follows Keamy into the office, complaining that there are two keys because they're only supposed to open the safe together. "You're here, aren't you?" quips Keamy. Then he takes something out of the safe.

"What is that?"

"It's the secondary protocol." Keamy starts reading it. Rude!

"What does it say?"

"It says where Linus is going."

"How would Mr. Widmore know that?"

"Because he's a very smart man. And if Linus knows that we're gonna torch the island, there's only one place that he can go." Applebee's? Gault starts to complain that this wasn't what he signed up for, but Keamy doesn't give a what. He takes out his gun. "Fix my gun," he tells Gault. Seriously, fix it.

Up on deck, the soldiers are bringing back the dead body of the guy who got his ass full-on whupped by the Smoke Monster. Gault comes up and tells Omar that Keamy wants him. Omar leaves Gault to watch Sayid and Desmond, and as he walks away, he gets the Morse code message from the island! Wacky.

Gault tells Sayid and Des to go hide in the pantry, but that's now how Sayid gets down. "Hiding is pointless. Give us your Zodiac raft, so we can start ferrying people back here from the beach. The only way to save our lives is to get our people off that island." Des looks at Gault like, Yeah, what Sayid said! Gault says he'll have the boat in the water in ten minutes.

On the island, Locke locates the cabin on his new map. Hurley gives him a bottle of water, because "digging through dead bodies takes it out of ya." Locke tells Hugo he can head back to the beach. "Oh, I get it. Now that you got your magic map you don't need me anymore." Locke offers him another chance to leave, but Hurley decides it's not any safer to leave than to stay.

"This way?"

Hurley walks off, but Locke and Ben stay behind for a minute.

"He actually thinks staying was his idea," says Ben. "Not bad, John. Not bad at all."

"I'm not you," says Locke.

"You're certainly not," says Ben. Saucer of Dharma milk over here! Don't hate Big Lil' Locke just because you don't have dreams anymore. Or is Ben cleverly manipulating this ENTIRE episode from the backseat? That's my guess. Even though Ben seems to be out of the loop right now, my Ben-dar is still going off like crazy.

Back in Locke's humiliating childhood, an awkward teenage John gets let out of a locker by a nerdy teacher. There's a Geronimo Jackson poster in Locke's locker!

What? What is up with Geronimo Jackson and Apollo Bars popping up in everybody's flashbacks. I can't even think about the meaning of those appearances anymore, it would literally drive me insane. Okay, just a little. Why? Why? WHY? WHY???? Why.

So the teacher sits Locke down and tries to get him to sign up for science camp at Mittelos Laboratories with a Dr. Alpert. Locke doesn't want to be signed up for anything that will involve more ass-kickings and Locke-locker-lockings. Can you blame him? The nerdy teacher can blame him, apparently. "You can't be the prom king. You can't be the quarterback. You can't be the superhero."

Locke leans in all gangsta-like. "Don't tell me what I can't do."

Back on the freighter, Frank goes to visit Michael and give him a hand. Michael tells Frank he can't fly Keamy back because he's going to kill everyone on the island. Frank says he'll worry about Keamy. I think we're all worried about Keamy, playboy.

Things get a little weirder when we see Omar strapping what looks like a metronome to Keamy's arm.

Hmm. Maybe Keamy is an oboist and he needs that to tune the orchestra? 440 A in the house!

Up on deck, Gault gives Sayid and Des a compass and sends them off on the boat. Who knew Gault would be down for the cause? Sayid gets ready to board, but Des is kind of frozen. "I can't go with you," he says to Sayid. Why not? "I've been on that island for three years. I'm never setting foot on it again. Not when Penny's coming for me." Sayid doesn't argue, he just says he'll be back with the first group as fast as he can. "Stay on that bearing, yea?" says Desmond. Gault tells Sayid to break out already. So he does.

This scene's a bit sad, isn't it? I feel like it's the start of Sayid's lone gunman days. At the same time, some funky-ass cellos kick in at this part. Have we had a lot of funky cellos on Lost? These are mad funky.

Break.

Locke's got a torch and he's leading the way to the cabin. Ben goes back into Ben mode: "Are you sure it's gonna be there, John?"

"I'm sorry?"

"The cabin. What if it's moved? Again?"

"It hasn't moved, because I was told that this is where it would be."

"I was told a lot of things, too. That I was chosen, that I was special. I end up with a tumor on my spine and my daughter's blood all over my hands.

"I'm sorry those things happened to you, Ben."

Trick please! He's crying crocodile tears. "Those things had to happen to me. That was my destiny. But you'll understand soon enough that there are consequences to being chosen. Because destiny, John? Is a fickle bitch." Ha!

Hurley interrupts. "Guys? Cabin."

CABIN!

This is like The Goonies 2008.

We join off-island Locke in the middle of some post-fall physical therapy. He looks humiliated to be there. An orderly helps him into his chair and wheels him away. "You don't give up, Mr. Locke," he says.

"Excuse me?"

"I'm just saying, don't give up. Anything's possible."

"You should read my file. My spine was crushed. There's a 98% chance I'll never get any feeling back in my legs. So I don't know why I'm even trying to drag my - "

"I did read your file. You survived falling eight stories out of a building. That's a miracle, Mr. Locke."

Abbadon! No way. No way, no way, no way. NO way. Yes way. I'm up off the couch. "Let me ask you something. Do you believe in miracles?"

"No, I don't believe in miracles."

"You should. I had one happen to me." Abbadon takes him right up to the edge of some steps like he's gonna push him down, then presses the elevator button. Fakeout!

"Hey, look, i just wanna go back to my room."

"You know what you need, Mr. Locke? You need to go on a walkabout." Whaaaat.

"What's a walkabout?"

"It's a journey of self-discovery. You go out into the Australian outback with nothing more than a knife and your wits."

"I can't walk about anything. In case you haven't noticed, I'm a cripple."

"Is that what you are, Mr. Locke?"

"I went on my walkabout convinced I was one thing, but I came back another. I found out what I was made of, and who I was."

"And here you are...an orderly." Good one.

"Oh, I'm a lot more than just an orderly, John."

Abbadon puts him on the elevator. "When you're ready, Mr. Locke, you'll listen to what I'm saying. And then, when you and me run into each other again? You'll owe me one."

The elevator doors close. That was intense! And back on the couch I sit.

So the boys on the boat are getting the chopper ready to go, packin' up guns and stuff. Desmond watches from afar. Omar goes up to Ray and says, "Hey doc, wanna hear something weird?"

"Yeah, sure."

"You know that Morse code message that I got from the beach? It said the doctor washed up on the shore with his throat slit."

"But I'm the doctor."

"Crazy, right?"

Not that crazy. So Keamy shows up and tells them to get all the guns and stuff on the chopper. Frank's not feeling it. "What are you gonna do with all that?"

"Fire 'er up, Frank."

"Mr. Keamy, I was hired to fly scientists."

"Get your ass in the cockpit and fire up the chopper, Frank."

"I'm not taking you."

"I'll kill you, Frank."

"Yeah, well, you do that and you'll never get back to the island, cuz I'm the only pilot you got."

Keamy is surprisingly cool about the whole thing. He calmly walks away, puts a friendly hand on Doc Ray's shoulder, then slits his throat and throws him over the side. Splash! "That change anything, Frank? Huh? Another 30 seconds go by and it's someone else's turn - "

BANG!

"I fixed your gun." Gault just let off a warning shot. "Now stand down, Martin, or I will fire."

Keamy passes the knife to Omar, then gestures to the thing strapped to his arm. "I don't think you wanna do that, Captain."

"What's that on his arm? What's that on his arm?" Gault looks over to the side, which was not a good look, because Keamy grabs Omar's gun and shoots him dead.

Cap'n Faceplant!

Des is like, I'm out of here. Keamy turns to Frank. "HEY! What'll it be, Frank?"

"We're flying."

Frank fires up the chopper. Keamy gets his gun back. "Thanks, Cap'n." Nice guy, that Keamy. I don't care what anybody says. And just like that, the chopper takes off.

Back on the beach, it's nighttime, and - no, not Jack and Juliet! You'll ruin the episode! No! Abort! Abort!

"Jack, you have to rest..." Oh, brother. Didn't we have enough of this last week? I'm not recapping this. Fortunately, the chopper shows up and drowns out the talking. Everyone on the beach watches it approach, fly directly over them and drop some type of payload out. It's a bag, and it's beeping. A bomb? Jack sorts through the bag looking for the noise. It's a sat phone.

It shows the chopper moving away from them as a yellowish-greenish blip on the screen. And it looks like it has about three bars of service, so might be a good time to call some friends. Free nights and weekends!

"I think they want us to follow them," says Jack as everyone else looks on with stuck-on stupid expressions.

Back to the cabin.

Locke turns back to Hurley and Ben.

"All right. Let's do this."

Ben's not into it. "I'm not going in there with you."

Locke is shocked. "What?"

"The island wanted me to get sick, and it wanted you to get well. My time is over, John. It's yours now." Really? I find that hard to believe. I also don't think the island has desires and emotions. In fact, I think this is all a big ol' fakeout.

Hurley adds, "Yeahhhh...I'm cool with you going in alone, too." I laugh really hard.

Locke hands the torch to Hugo and takes off his bag. Ben wishes him luck.

I'm a little freaked out. Locke lights a lantern outside the cabin. I'm up off the couch. Now he's going into the cabin. This is scary. I'm up off the couch AND doing the twist.

Locke shuts the door. "Are you Jacob?"

"No. But I can speak on his behalf."

Locke takes a few slow steps forward. "Well, who are you?"

"I'm Christian." Zoinks!

Locke sits down and takes it all in before speaking again. "You know why I'm here?"

"Yeah, sure. Do you?"

"I'm here because I was chosen to be."

"That's absolutely right."

Locke hears a creaking noise on the other side of the room. He gets up and walks over with his lantern. A shadowy figure comes into Locke's light.

"Claire?" Double zoinks!

"Hi, John."

"What are you doing here?"

"Don't worry, I'm fine. I'm with him." She smiles and points at Christian. Locke looks back at Christian, who is also smiling, then back at Claire.

Locke asks Claire, "Where's the baby?"

"The baby's where he's supposed to be," says Christian, "and that's not here."

"it's probably best that you don't tell anyone that you saw her."

"Why? Why is she - "

Christian raises his hand in the universal "bitch please" expression. "We don't have time for this. The people from the boat are already on their way back. And once they get here, all of these questions won't matter one bit. So why don't you ask the one question that does matter?"

"How do I save the island?"

And I think that was my favorite scene ever.

Now Locke comes out of the cabin.

"Did he tell you what we're supposed to do?"

"He did."

"Well?"

"He wants us to move the island."

*BBHHWWWONNGGGGGGHGGGGGHGH*

Wow. That was crazy! I'm still in shock, but it's the best kind of Lost shock possible. And it can only get crazier from here, peoples. I think we're about to see Lost's space-time dimensions get twisted this way and that.

It's Jack's eye.

And Juliet's face. Entirely too close for comfort.

"Jack!"

Jack stares off to the side for a few seconds, then blinks and becomes responsive again. Where was he just now? Somewhere time-travelly, I reckon.

On the beach, "Saint" Bernard is arguing with Daniel about where everybody be at. Charlotte starts piling on in her insufferable voice. Rose steps in: "Just watch your tone, Red."

Jack steps in and tells everyone to calm down, or else he'll turn this whole time-shifted is-it-or-isn't-it-an-island around. Sure, they're lying, but sooner or later, their peoples will come back for them, we'll be ready, patience is a virtue, a stitch in time saves nine, and so forth - then he keels over.

Juliet's all in his face again. Too close, lady!

Trust me, that's part of the problem.

We go from eyes-closed Jack on the ground to eyes-closed Jack in bed. A ringing phone seems to wake him, but like before, Jack opens his eyes for a couple of seconds before he becomes alert.

I smell a time-travel mind-rift. Anyway, it's the hospital calling, reminding him he has an 11:00 that was moved up because, as the nurse puts it, "I know how you are with your calendar."

Jack gets up, puts on a towel, picks up some lacy underwear (parting gift from Hurley?) and smirks contently (definitely Hurley) before heading downstairs. He steps on something. "Ow! Son of a bitch." It's the Millennium Falcon. Never curse the Millennium Falcon son! Never.

Jack puts two glasses of wine in the sink and puts on some coffee. He glances at a newspaper headline - Yankees bludgeon Red Sox in series sweep - and mutters, "A-Rod."

Finally, time for the shower. But not for one, for two!

"Morning."

"Morning yourself. I bought you a razor."

"What, you don't like the scruff?"

"Razor's by the sink, Jack."

Hmm. Doesn't sound like Hurley, although I do detect an hourglass figure through the frosted shower door, so I'm still guessing it's -

Kate!

Jate.

So it wasn't Hurley's underwear?

After the break, we join Jack as he reads Alice in Wonderland to "Hank" Aaron.

"Dear, dear, how queer everything is today. And yesterday things went on just as usual. I wonder if I've been changed in the night? Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning?" Jack looks back to see Kate smiling. "But if I'm not the same, the next question is, Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle." Aaron is fast asleep in no time, because Alice in Wonderland is boring.

Out in the hall, Jack is like, Hmm, how can I get even more ass from this scenario? Oh, I got an idea. "My old man used to read me that story."

"Really?"

Look at her, downright goofy with adoration.

"What?"

"It's just sweet hearing you say nice things about your dad."

"I don't say nice things about my dad?" Another goofy Kate face. "Well, he was a good storyteller, I'll give him that." Jack moves in for a hug. "Hey, you okay?"

"Yeah...just I...I love seeing you with him. I'm so glad you changed your mind. I'm so glad that you're here."

"Me too."

Me too!

Aaaand shippers everywhere just ejacuJated. Enjoy it while it lasts, friends.

Now let's talk about that image in the background, shall we? What's going on there?

Lookin' a bit electromagneticalish and Smoke Monstery, innit?

Back on the island, Jack is coming out of his nap. Kate comes back to the camp more concerned about Jack than everyone else seems to be. She worried that he's burning up, but he limps away looking like doo-doo to get a little rest.

So we join Sawyer, Claire and Miles "Davis" walking through the jungle. And Miles gets some crazy vibes!

He hears the voices of Danielle and Karl and the whizzing noise of the bullets that hit them, and quite possibly is watching/feeling those events take place, from the looks of it. Sawyer tries to get him to snap out of it, but Miles is transfixed. "Who's Danielle and Karl?" Sawyer and Claire watch confusedly as Miles clears away some crap on the ground to reveal Danielle's dead face. "Is this your French woman?" That would be her, yes. Then Miles digs up Karl. Sawyer and Claire are freaked out, and Aaron definitely doesn't need to be seeing this, so they break out as Miles continues to stare at the ground.

Back in the "All About Jack" storyline, Juliet is nagging him to take his illness seriously, but "Just" Jack just thinks it's food poisoning - cramps, dehydration, nausea. Juliet's like nah doggy, lift your shirt up. It's his appendix, according to Juliet, which Jack seems to know already. "Has it ruptured?" Not yet, he says. "Well," replies Juliet in a way that sounds really evil either because a) it is or b) it's Juliet, "I guess we're just gonna have to take it out." Appendix, or wacky Dharma implant? Or is she trying to put one in there? Something ain't stirring the Kool-Aid with this one, but that's all I got.

Juliet recruits Sun to help her get medical instruments, but Sun isn't up for the job. Doctor Daniel Faraday reminds everyone about the doctor part of his name, but lingering trust issues prevail. Then he has an exchange with Charlotte that is stupid. It seems fakey fake like a fakeout. "Your attitude, your very bad attitude, is exactly why they don't trust us." No, we don't trust you because you're full of pooooooop! "We're scientists, we don't want anyone to get hurt, we just want to help." Yeah, right. Juliet agrees to send the scientists, but gives Jin a gun and orders him to shoot them in the leg if they get uppity.

Kate asks Juliet why they don't just move Jack to the medical station. "Because if we move him, then there's a good chance that his appendix will rupture. And if that happens, he's gonna die."

Kate's not feeling that.

Over on the boring side of things, Miles stares at "Marie" Claire and Aaron until Sawyer comes along and threatens him: "Don't even think about it."

"What?"

"Don't look at her. Don't talk to her. Don't mess with her. You got a restraining order - 20 feet."

"What are you, her big brother?"

"No, I'm the guy who's gonna put a boot in your face unless you say 'Yeah, I getcha.'"

"Yeah, I getcha."

Miles shakes his head at Sawyer's protectiveness. But it's cute! Someone's gotta protect Claire, even if she quite possibly died already.

On the beach, Bernard and Rose are waxing their surfboard or something.

Hang ten!

Rose is worried, but it's not about Jack being sick, like Bernard thinks (husbands are so dumb). It's about WHY he's sick. "The day before we're all supposed to be rescued, the person we count on the most suddenly comes down with a life-threatening condition? And you're chalking it up to bad luck?"

"Well, what are you saying? That Jack did something to offend the gods? People get sick, Rose."

"Not here. Here, they get better." Good point. Maybe he's pregnant?

Meanwhile, in a tent, Juliet "Binoche" is shaving Jack's belly. Juliet manages to make this unsexy scene even less sexy than it sounds, and the three or four Jack/Juliet shippers in existence realize the odds are against them. Suckers! It's a disease, you need help. Jack seems skeptical of Juliet's abilities in this department, and Juliet's lame explanation for why she's shaving two inches above where the incision should be - "I'm just cleaning the area" - doesn't inspire much confidence.

So Jack has another idea - numb the area and I'll watch the procedure while Kate holds a mirror. Ha ha! Juliet argues for someone with medical experience. "No," says Jack, cutting her off, "I want it to be Kate." JATE4EVER suckas.

Back at l'hopital du futur, Jack walks a patient towards the exit and is about to head back when - wait a second.

Hold the phone.

Stop the presses.

Time out for Tastykake!

Yeah, we saw him too.

So is this the first of Jack's off-island daddy visions? And is he really off the island? No time for pondering that now. There's a phone call for Jack. It's Dr. Stillman from Santa Rosa Hospital. It's about a friend of Jack's.

So Jack goes to Santa Rosa, and it's to see Hurley. Hurley doesn't look so hot, and from what Stillman tells us, skipping meds and therapy aren't helping, since he doesn't believe Doc Stillman exists. Well, does he? Seems like a valid question to me, crazy or no crazy.

"Hey, Hurley."

"Hey, Jack."

"Why aren't you taking your meds?"

"Cuz we're dead."

Fair enough. When Hurley's sad, I get sad, so this is sad.

He continues, "All of us. All the Oceanic Six. We're all dead. We never got off that island."

"Hurley, that is not true."

"What did you do today?"

"What did I do today...I, uh...I woke up, took a shower. Kate and I fed the baby..."

"I thought you didn't want anything to do with her."

"I changed my mind after the trial."

"Living with Kate, taking care of Aaron. It all seems so perfect...just like heaven." I don't know about heaven - have you met Jack and Kate? - but it does seem a bit dubious.

"Just because I'm happy doesn't mean that this isn't real, Hurley." I don't know, Jack. Bitter Betty that you are, I kind of think it might.

"I was happy, too, Jack. For a while, anyway, Then I saw Charlie. He likes to sit with me on the bench, out on the front lawn. It's pretty cool, actually."

Jack makes several expressions to indicate he's taken aback, but they're mixed with something else. Is Hurley spilling the beans that Jack so delicately arranged in a perfect little pile?

"Okay, so what do the two of you talk about?"

"Well, yesterday he told me you were going to be coming by. He wanted me to give you a message."

"A message."

Hurley goes into the drawer and takes out a piece of paper. "He made me write it down so I wouldn't mess it up." Hurley reads from the paper. "'You're not supposed to raise him, Jack.' Does that make any sense?"

Jack gets up from his chair. "No, that doesn't make any sense." But when he says it, he can't even face Hurley, instead turning completely around towards the other corner of the room!

"You think he means Aaron?"

Jack turns back.

"Take your meds, Hurley."

Wow, what a jerk! Jack is covering it all up, isn't he. And what's the deal with the finger-wagging? Friends don't finger-wag friends who spent time on a time-shifting pseudo-island together. "Just take 'em."

As Jack tries to run from the truth, Hurley stops him with one more thing. "Hey Jack? Charlie said someone's gonna be visiting you, too...soon."

And on that note, Jack bounces like a $3.2 million check.

Back on the island, the fascinating hunt for medical supplies continues. Daniel and Charlotte talk about who's going to go down the hatch for supplies, and they flirt a little, which is disgusting. Jin asks Sun (in Korean) if Charlotte knows Daniel likes her. Sure, she's a woman, replies Sun (also in Korean). And Charlotte turns back with a sheepish grin that suggests she understood what they said (in Korean as well).

Jin knows what's up.

They go downstairs, and Dan wonders out loud where the power for everything is coming from, but Charlotte informs him that we won't be finding out in tonight's ep. "Las Vegas" Sun tells Jin that this is where Juliet brought her to see the baby, and expresses her doubts about Dan and Charlotte helping them - all in Korean, while Charlotte again makes an obvious sideways glance that indicates she understands them, and Jin again picks up on it. Don't worry, says Jin, I'll get your ass off this island. And the baby, too.

Sawyer Time!

Miles asks Claire if she needs some help, and Sawyer reminds him of the restraining order - but there's a rustlin' in the bushes. Smoke Monster? Christian Shepherd? Frank Lapidus?

Third time's the charm.

Frank lets everyone know that Keamy is coming, and they need to hide sooner rather than later because he's nearby. They hide quickly. It's very Gilligan's Island. Keamy & Company look mostly okay, except for the one guy who got tore up by the Smoke Monster, and even he seems mostly intact.

Who cares about those guys anyway. In fact, who cares about this whole scene? Aaron makes a noise and Keamy hears it, but Frank talks him out of following his instincts by demanding they head for the chopper and get back to the freighter before dark. Whew! Because I really thought Keamy was going to kill Sawyer, Claire, Aaron and Miles this week. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

On the beach, Juliet tells Kate that Jack wants Kate's help with Jack's surgery. Kate's like whatever, surprised he's not taking it out himself. J&J share a friendly moment, but it's not that friendly. More reality-show-contestant friendly, like Kristy Jo and Aubrey, or Sinceer and Thing 2. Of course, Jack is still trying to be a hero, walking around without help; Kate's still trying to help him and keep the Jatey times going; and Juliet is still the haggard third wheel in the equation.

Get your own man, Juliet!

She finally gets the hint and leaves, and Kate helps Jack along the beach.

Cute.

Time for a stakeout!

Yup, Jack is watching the ol' Charlie bench. Looking for a sign? (Besides "Santa Rosa Mental Health Facility"?)

The question here seems to be, what did Jack know and when did he know it? Could it be that Jack has lived all of this before, from the crash up till now, even up to the Season 3 finale declaration of "We have to go back"? Is Jack slowly getting his time-traipsing bearings back? Is he connected to the old-timey adventures of the Black Rock? Is his dad? How about the whole Ben-Widmore dynamic, could it really be a Ben-Widmore-Christian dynamic that we haven't seen all of yet? The answers aren't in this scene, that's for sure. Jack shakes his head in a very "nah, no way" fashion and drives off.

Back at the house, Jack wakes Kate up and is vague about where he's been. She can tell something is up.

"What's going on, what's wrong?"

"The other night, when I was reading to Aaron, you said that I was a natural. Do you really...do you really think that I'm good at this?"

Kate cries a little. I feel you, Kate. I hate being woken up, too. "Yeah," she says, either to me or to Jack. "You're good at this." Jack sighs and exhales like a wuss. There's a pause. Then...

Jack: "Will you marry me?"

Huh?

"Yes!"

It's that face again!

"Of course I will, yes!"

And then they go in for...

...a hug? Is that how you seal an engagement, with a hug? Hugs over kisses are not Jaters' wishes.

Back on the beach, the supplies-getters return to the beach. And I"m bored. Thank Jacob for what comes next - the return of ass-kickin' Jin.

"Charlotte?"

"Yes?"

"Pardon?"

"I'm sorry, maybe I can get your wife to translate..."

Her Korean seems to be improving.

Ah, so she does speak Korean. I was STILL ON THE FENCE ABOUT THAT.

Go Jin! I mean, semi-go Jin, because he seems to be selling out the rest of the gang a little. Whatever.

So now it's operation time, and Kate is holding the mirror as requested. Things seem to be going well with the incision, then Jack starts freaking out (from the pain?), Kate gets upset, Juliet insists on knocking Jack out and Bernard does it. But isn't that convenient? Jack freaks out, Bernard knocks him out, Juliet gets what she wanted all along? Seems like the sort of shell game we've seen The Others pull off before. Doesn't it make the whole surgery storyline seem like the start of something significant? You tell me. On a side note, I haven't seen a group of actor-doctors this unconvincing since M.A.S.H.

As soon as Jack's eyelids close, he's back in the hospital future, looking at x-rays, being a doctor, you know the drill.

Hey, what's that sound?

He follows the sound, which turns out to be a low-battery beep from a smoke alarm into the waiting area. Ah, no big deal, nothing mysterious going on here. Just a smoke alarm to fix.

He gets off the counter. All done here!

"Jack?"

Papa!

"Jack?"

Poof.

So the two actor-doctors chat about the beeping smoke detector, then Jack acts for a prescription for clonazepam. "Just got a lot going on right now, a little snowed under with all my case load, and Kate and I got engaged. Just not sleeping very well at night." She writes him a script on the spot and tells him that getting engaged is supposed to relieve stress, not create it. Interesting theory! She suggests he talk to someone. "I'll do that," says Dr. Jack Shephard.

So he goes home to The House That Jate Built. Time for some of that low-stress engagement feeling!

Jack hears Kate talking in the kitchen. "Yeah, I'll just have the nanny stay for an extra couple hours....Jack's never home before eight anyway...I could stay for at least an hour...."

Jack is staring at her now, none too pleased.

"I gotta go, Jack's home...Yeah, okay. I'll call you later...bye."

Jack's on the case. "Who was that?"

"It was Noreen."

"Noreen..."

"She's one of the moms from the park."

Jack makes a face.

"What?"

"Nothing. I just never heard you mention her before."

"Well, now you have." She kisses him to shut him up. "I'll see you upstairs."

Jack starts to panic and goes for the clonazepam, grabbing two of them before he grabs a Genessee Cream Ale out of the icebox and washes the ol' nitrobenzodiazepine down the hatch.

Back by the campfire, Sawyer and Miles sleep close to each other, while Claire sleeps a bit off to the side, because that makes sense. She awakes with a start to find that Aaron seems to be...missing? She looks around. Hmm, the woods, trees, branches, a campfire, and...

"Dad?" Your guess is as good as mine.

Over by the beach, Bernard comes out to talk to Kate, which feels like an impression of something he vaguely remembers from a waiting room scene on St. Elsewhere. Kate leaves to check on Jack and has a little chat with Juliet.

"I'm sorry I yelled at you," says Juliet.

"Don't worry about it, you had enough going on."

"You know he kissed me."

"What?"

"The other day when you came back from the other side of the island, Jack kissed me."

"Oh."

"It was nice. But it wasn't for me, it was for him. I'm pretty sure he was trying to prove something."

"Prove what?"

"That he doesn't love someone else."

Kate thanks Juliet for saving Jack's life. Kate leaves. Then Juliet turns to closed-eyes Jack and says, "I know you're awake." And he is awake! "So she DOES like me! Ain't that the bee's knees! Kate likes me and I like Kate, ladi-dadi-daa-dii-dooooooo!" says Jack. He doesn't really say that.

Now it's Jack and Kate, and Jack is mad drunk.

Jack wants to know why the nanny was there so late. Kate wants to know why Jack is home so early. Jack's still mad high and drunk.

Jack says he went to see crazy Hurley, but more importantly, where were you today, Kate? "I'm gonna ask you to trust me. Trust me. Just leave it be." Leave it be, Jack! Jack can't leave it be. He wants to know where Kate was at. "Jack, don't..." Who were you talking to on the phone? "Just let it go?" He's still asking, and asking, and yelling and asking.

"I was doing something for him."

"For who?"

"For Sawyer."

"I made a promise."

"What?"

"It doesn't matter. It had nothing to do with us."

"Then why won't you tell me."

"Because...because he wouldn't want me to."

"But he's not here, is he? No. No, he made his choice, he chose to stay. I'm the one who came back. I'm the one who's here. I'm the one who saved you."

"Jack...you can't...you can't do this. If you have problems, you need to figure them out, all right? Cause I can't have you like this around my son!"

"Your son? You're not even related to him!"

Not the best timing, "Captain" Jack.

Okay, Jaters, we got more than we bargained for in this ep, so it's time to accept the bitter with the sweet. These two head cases aren't ready to settle down just yet.

On the island, Miles and Sawyer get reacquainted.

"Good morning."

"It's way too early for Chinese." Not cool, Sawyer! "Where's Claire? Ladies room?"

"Nope. She just walked off into the jungle."

"What? When?"

"In the middle of the night. Just got up and left."

"And you let her go alone?"

"She wasn't alone."

"Well who was she with?"

"She called him Dad. I'd have followed them, but I have a restraining order."

Sawyer goes to grab Miles and do something freaky to him, but then he hears the crying baby.

He yells. "Claire!"

Sawyer runs after the sound. It's not Claire.

Aaron, yes. Claire? No.

"Claire? Claire? Claire?"

CLAIRE!!!!"

*BHHWWOHHNNGGGGHGGGGG*

So there that go. The beginning of the setup of the start of the finale has begun. This week couldn't really stack up to last week - most of the "shocking" moments with Jack's dad and stuff were things you could see coming a mile away - but it did put the proper elements in play for a thrilling wrap-up of Season 4.
